    Good video, thank you. I've just installed the Bresser 5 in 1 with the colour display screen. I'm also uploading to Wunderground. So far, found it very accurate. Mine is mounted on a 3 1/2ft pole attached to the side of my concrete shed so approx. 8 - 9ft high. Maybe a little lower than recommended but so far it seems to be doing the job nicely. How long this unit will last is anyone's guess but it is a good entry point unit before moving on to perhaps the Davis units in the future.

    Good description, but I need to attach it to a metal pole... And the supplied half moon bracket won't fit around the pole..

    Very informative thank you. My current weather station is sadly malfunctioning, probably due to age, so I am on the look out for a new one. This seems like a good candidate.

    thanks for the review.
    On remark: Get a good set of Eneloop rechargeable batteries and good charger that tells you how much you charged (and helps you to identify a bad battery in a few years); that is a lot more environment friendly then these throw away batteries.

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před rokem

      Walter that is a good suggestion and I agree much more environmentally friendly, I'll take your comments on board.

    Hello Steve, just an information about the material used for the external unit, in particular the foot stand and the main leg (plastic or metallic). Thank you.

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před rokem

      Hell Ricardo, thanks for the question, apologies for the delayed response. The main leg is metal which locates into an injection moulded bracket. So far no problems and we had two really bad storms earlier in the year, the leg and locating bracket are robust.

    Hi, I want to buy this weather station but I have read that the temperature has 2/4ºC more in the full sun. Is this true? Thank you.

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před 2 lety +1

      Alex, sorry for the late response. I've not found any problem with the temperature reading. If I validate the external (local) temperature with the UK met office it is usually within +/- 1oC of the Bresser, which is within an acceptable tolerance, as the local weather station is around 1km away and positioned near the seafront.

    Hi Steve, I was wondering about the historical data part - does it give min max readings? Also what about rainfall, how does it measure the amount of rain? Lastly, is there moon phase information?
    You said that perhaps you won’t talk so much about the weather now you have your own station, instead I bet you will talk even more about it hahahahah . Thanks for the video :)

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před 3 lety

      Hi Serena, Thanks for the questions. Yes, you can obtain historic data such as rainfall and other weather data sets by scrolling through the menu on the display station. For example, rainfall can be obtained hourly, daily, weekly and monthly (in mm or inches). There is a rain cup on the unit which collects the rainfall and measures it accordingly. The Moon phases are indicated on the top right of the display station in 8 phases from new to full. I regularly compare the various data outputs against the UK Met Office readings and find the unit to be very accurate. Steve

    Hello...Why does the satellite symbol always flash at me but it doesn't take?

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před rokem

      Sorry for the delayed response. I have noticed that, say after replacing the batteries, it takes a considerable time to make the satellite connection. In my case around here in NW England it took around 1 hour to establish the connection, however, since then everything has been functioning well. You might want to try re-booting the weather station (remove and replace the batteries) and display unit. Perhaps you also my reside in an area where the signal is restricted. Good Luck.

    The anemometer bearings go bad after a couple of years.

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před rokem

      Following your comments, I kept a track on the data for barometric pressures. Currently the Bresser readings vary quite a bit from those produced by the UK metrological service (for this area). I’m going to change the batteries and reset the unit, so watch this space.

    • @BigDuke6ixx
      @BigDuke6ixx Před rokem

      @@stevemoon4975 how did you get on? If the wind cup feel notchy when you spin them manually then the bearing need a lube or replacing. Temp/humidity sensor and rain gauge mechanism are easy to service (see the manual) but the wind speed sensor bearing look to be a bit tricky. I will have a go at doing mine tomorrow.

    • @stevemoon4975
      @stevemoon4975  Před rokem

      @@BigDuke6ixx The wind speed readings still accurate after 2 years. There is now some small discrepancy with the pressure readings compared with the UK met office. I'll take a look at the instruction manual to see if there is any adjustment that can be made to align the readings with that of the met office.
