If you do a little searching you will see that the fallout period should generally resolve within 5 to 10 years depending on the severity. Either way, I think the game looks awesome and I'm definitely going to get it.

It's a $40 game. Which I think is around the price Blood Dragon was when it was new. It's a fair price, Ubisoft surprisingly deciding not to rip people off, I guess they realised since it's the same location with gameplay more or less the same, it'll be better dropping the price a bit.

They even know that this isn't much of a change to FC5. ( it'll cost $40 apparently) if it's actually any good I'll probably pick it up on sale after a year or two

Far Cry 3 - Far Cry Blood Dragon Far Cry 4 - Far Cry Primal Far Cry 5 - Far cry New Dawn They always did this, and they are always connected, It's like a big Dlc where you was supposed to have some abilities and new stuff but they didn't add it in so they made a whole new game with a re-Skin, For example in Far cry 4 they already started to work with the animal companions, we had the shangri la tiger only for 5 missions. So far cry primal was like giving that missing ability to have animal companions in free roam too and outside missions, and Takkar was the ancestor of The Hunter enemies from far cry 4, so they are all kinda connected with each other

Everybody has lost both their trust and faith in Ubisoft to produce a product with an honest intention of catering to the consumer over themselves. It's not without good reason either, it's common knowledge that Ubisoft (among others) rely on their fan's loyalty far too much. Nobody wants to be played for a mindless fool with dollars to burn, and that's what most believe Ubisoft is doing right now by reusing assets from FC5. But you're completely right in that every person is entitled to purchase whatever they please with their money they earned.
You are right about others opinions. It's pointless to prove anything to someone in the comments, nobody really cares if ur point is legit or not. But i'll try to explain why I am personally not happy with this game. The last truly innovative FC game was FC3 released back in 2012. Since then Ubisoft has been reusing FC3's core game mechanics and slapping them ontop of new maps and reskinned weapons/enemies. For the past six years this franchise more or less stayed the same in terms of its basic gameplay functions. Not only that, but the story and character development were getting worse and worse with each game. Also FC seems to go down Saints Row path, because with each new installment everything becomes crazier and more ridiculous. FC5, the latest FC game, turned out to be pretty generic and bland. So much so, that after completing it I can't rembember much about this game, while FC3's characters and story are stuck deeply in my memory to this day. And after all this Ubisoft reveal another over the top FC with reused FC5 map and copypasted game mechanics. This saddens me, because I was expecting a mature, serious, somewhat innovative game like FC2-3, heck even 4.
not really, far cry 3 had a great story and great characters with development. There's actually a lot of in depth videos about far cry 3 explaining the deeper meaning behind what the story means. They got lazy with 4 and after.

I enjoyed Far Cry 5. This does look like a reskin of Hope County & looks like they're taking a leaf out of Rage 2's apocalypse setting (looks to be 2019's "thing")...but, do I keep hearing the character you're playing as having a female voice/cries? - I wonder if they're going open-world-character customizey.. The new life bars overhead is interesting too...I wonder if there will be an inevitable Battle Royal as well!?

People saying its too soon to be green should look up the Chernobyl disaster, Although it wasnt a nuke everything pretty much died over there (1986) They have drone footage from 2013, and mother nature has taken back most of the city even with the radiation being so high still. To give you a idea of how much radiation it was Sweden sounded their alarm first which was 1000 miles away. Fun Fact: The Chernobyl explosion put 400 times more radioactive material into the Earth's atmosphere than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

but its not. its a $40 stand-alone (that would probably be $35 DLC) where you can walk to the store with your copy of Far cry 5, sell it for $10 and use that $10 to get this standalone game. I don't know why everyone is so caught up on thinking it is DLC / wanting it to be DLC. they are making it very clear this is a shorter spin-off game, and would rather sell it as its own thing than just go the easy option and add a few new characters to the existing hope county in far cry 5

To all the people saying this doesn't look like a nuclear wasteland: -This game takes place 17 years after a nuke was detonated -Depending on the size of the nuke, 17 years may well be long enough for life to safely take hold again. After all, cities have been nuked in real life, and were back on track within a few years. -The scenario described in fallout, where everything is an ashen wasteland hundreds of years after nukes fell, is probably more unrealistic than the depiction shown here. -The amount of colour and plant life in the game is intended to depict a "superbloom", which is an actual phenomenon that can and does take place in seemingly harsh and hospitable environments.
I see alot of complaints in the comments and I want to clarify something. This is NOT fc6. This is more like a far cry primal type of game. It's a continuation on fc5 story so there will be a lot of reuse of assets. I love that they are doing this continuation to the story a year later because I love fc5. If you did too and want to stay in that universe I would recommend to buy the game but if you expect fc6 finnish this is not for you.
Everyone read, thanks! To those people who are complaining: This game has been in development during the development of Far Cry 5, likely why the DLCs weren't the best. A smaller studio even worked on this so it didn't really impact the main studio for Ubisoft of Far Cry games, meaning they could actually be developing a 'better' one right now. Obviously, this is getting released very early, which is a perfect fit so other Ubi games that could be in development now could get released later on. It's something to just spice things up while we wait.. This is not a total reskin. Yes, they did use the original Far Cry 5 map of Hope County but heavily modified it, just like how Far Cry: Primal did with Far Cry: 4. To those complaining about it looking badass and colorful: It's a real thing. It's called superblooming. Problem solved. Was never a problem anyway. Looks amazing. This is *not* worthy of a DLC; it is way better as a standalone game! You all see... I see... that the DLCs weren't that great. So if this game was a DLC, there would be *strict* limitations and it would probably not be that good. A standalone game makes it so much better so they can add more content and make the game *larger*! And to those shouting out about the apocalypse: so what? I think it was an amazing idea. Ubisoft heavily relies on community feedback. This was planned for a long time. Great transition. Let Ubisoft try out some darn things. For the price, so what? I mean yes $40 - this is a lot lower than the Far Cry 5 launch price. Supporting Ubi is pretty nice so they can make their next large Far Cry. Wouldn't care so much that its just a re-skin of Far cry 5. but the concept of a post apocalyptic Far cry deserves a fully developed game of it own, rather than a re-skin. As long as the price point is reasonable I dont really mind it. But If its a full price game I really Hope the story is nothing short of spectacular and both ties into the events of far cry 5 and then paves the way for a far cry 6. Where they can go full out post apocalyptic. Will have to see more to make a judgement call I guess.

Can't stress enough how sick those takedown animations look... really sets the tone, and is much more satisfying than a "bonk" over the head with a tree branch in 5.
I believe this was a fine idea: They spent FarCry5 talking about the end of the world.. so they make a stand alone where the world ends, its nice. The problem, for me until now, is that it doesnt feel like a pós apocalyptic game.. So we had a nuclear disaster.. why is everything so colorful, so green? Everyone seens pretty damn normal.. ok, they came from the 80's.. but they are still people. I love the MadMax idea of pos apocalyptic world.. It doesn have to be the only one, for sure. But its strange, in a world 17 years later.. it seems so happy.. Last of US bring us to a pos apocalyptic green world, but it has its dark places, you feel its a "kill or be killed" world, it's tense. For me, it reminds me a bit of NewHorizon. Its too much colorful and happy to be believable - but in NewHorizon, since it occurs centuries, perhaps mileniums after the "end" of mankind.. I can understand. I just cant understand this 17yr apocalyptic world from FarCry..

Lol how is this a reskin? People literally say that about every fucking game now that is a sequel. There's new bad ass animations, a beautiful looking map which DOES look different to far cry 5's after the fallout, new npcs, new weapons, new abilities and not to mention the graphics are great. @Googgoo Nic I definitely appreciated the serious nature of FarCry3 and it was a total miss to tone it down that for the next few games but i have to disagree on the idea that newer Farcry games are not innovative. With Farcry 5 for example, the new map and setting is an innovation in itself. That paired with the new roster system, makes for some nice changes and the ability to drive planes was also a great addition. As for this game, we'll have to wait and see cause 8 mins isn't enough to delve too deep into new mechanics but for me personally it looks promising. Im the kind of person who actually likes the addition of new weapons and enemies so long as they are unique (the saw crossbow looked pretty cool for example) all should be fine.
Everything in this game has been ported from previous far cry it probably only took them three months to get this done since the code NPCs models are already on their hard drives. Let's just boycott Ubisoft and bankrupt them already they are a worthless company that gives shit every year not to mention this game will most likely be laced with whole bunch of microtransactions that makes you the player grind even more. From the location on the map and by the shape of maybe some of the buildings, I'm going to guess that Prosperity was built on the site of the Seed Ranch from 5? It would be kind of funny that the former stronghold of the Seed family became your safe haven after everything they'd done to usher in this new world.

Pretty sure you can disable it in the options menu just as in ac, not a big deal. Some people like having this as a feature too.. even in 2019

@@Crazyfayze lol, they actually did say that at the Ubisoft NA channel. The only new notable feature is the expedition missions but even that feels like the sangrila missions from FC4. They even know that this isn't much of a change to FC5. ( it'll cost $40 apparently) if it's actually any good I'll probably pick it up on sale after a year or two

They always did this, and they are always connected, It's like a big Dlc where you was supposed to have some abilities and new stuff but they didn't add it in so they made a whole new game with a re-Skin, For example in Far cry 4 they already started to work with the animal companions, we had the shangri la tiger only for 5 missions. So far cry primal was like giving that missing ability to have animal companions in free roam too and outside missions, and Takkar was the ancestor of The Hunter enemies from far cry 4, so they are all kinda connected with each other

Everybody has lost both their trust and faith in Ubisoft to produce a product with an honest intention of catering to the consumer over themselves. It's not without good reason either, it's common knowledge that Ubisoft (among others) rely on their fan's loyalty far too much. Nobody wants to be played for a mindless fool with dollars to burn, and that's what most believe Ubisoft is doing right now by reusing assets from FC5. But you're completely right in that every person is entitled to purchase whatever they please with their money they earned.

You are right about others opinions. It's pointless to prove anything to someone in the comments, nobody really cares if ur point is legit or not. But i'll try to explain why I am personally not happy with this game. The last truly innovative FC game was FC3 released back in 2012. Since then Ubisoft has been reusing FC3's core game mechanics and slapping them ontop of new maps and reskinned weapons/enemies. For the past six years this franchise more or less stayed the same in terms of its basic gameplay functions. Not only that, but the story and character development were getting worse and worse with each game. Also FC seems to go down Saints Row path, because with each new installment everything becomes crazier and more ridiculous. FC5, the latest FC game, turned out to be pretty generic and bland. So much so, that after completing it I can't rembember much about this game, while FC3's characters and story are stuck deeply in my memory to this day. And after all this Ubisoft reveal another over the top FC with reused FC5 map and copypasted game mechanics. This saddens me, because I was expecting a mature, serious, somewhat innovative game like FC2-3, heck even 4.
I am actually fine with this. People expect too much out of a far cry game. They have always been about simple storylines with action packed shooting.
not really, far cry 3 had a great story and great characters with development. There's actually a lot of in depth videos about far cry 3 explaining the deeper meaning behind what the story means. They got lazy with 4 and after.

I enjoyed Far Cry 5. This does look like a reskin of Hope County & looks like they're taking a leaf out of Rage 2's apocalypse setting (looks to be 2019's "thing")...but, do I keep hearing the character you're playing as having a female voice/cries? - I wonder if they're going open-world-character customizey..
The new life bars overhead is interesting too...I wonder if there will be an inevitable Battle Royal as well!?

People saying its too soon to be green should look up the Chernobyl disaster, Although it wasnt a nuke everything pretty much died over there (1986) They have drone footage from 2013, and mother nature has taken back most of the city even with the radiation being so high still. To give you a idea of how much radiation it was Sweden sounded their alarm first which was 1000 miles away.
Fun Fact: The Chernobyl explosion put 400 times more radioactive material into the Earth's atmosphere than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.

but its not. its a $40 stand-alone (that would probably be $35 DLC) where you can walk to the store with your copy of Far cry 5, sell it for $10 and use that $10 to get this standalone game. I don't know why everyone is so caught up on thinking it is DLC / wanting it to be DLC. they are making it very clear this is a shorter spin-off game, and would rather sell it as its own thing than just go the easy option and add a few new characters to the existing hope county in far cry 5

To all the people saying this doesn't look like a nuclear wasteland:
-This game takes place 17 years after a nuke was detonated
-Depending on the size of the nuke, 17 years may well be long enough for life to safely take hold again. After all, cities have been nuked in real life, and were back on track within a few years.
-The scenario described in fallout, where everything is an ashen wasteland hundreds of years after nukes fell, is probably more unrealistic than the depiction shown here.
-The amount of colour and plant life in the game is intended to depict a "superbloom", which is an actual phenomenon that can and does take place in seemingly harsh and hospitable environments.
Hopefully they have mutated monster animal types, and have radiation zones that never recover from the bombs so u gotta wear a suit.
So basically you want this to be a Fallout game lol

I see alot of complaints in the comments and I want to clarify something. This is NOT fc6. This is more like a far cry primal type of game. It's a continuation on fc5 story so there will be a lot of reuse of assets. I love that they are doing this continuation to the story a year later because I love fc5. If you did too and want to stay in that universe I would recommend to buy the game but if you expect fc6 finnish this is not for you.
If some people get married for 50 years i think we can manage to survive another similar far cry for this year

Everyone read, thanks! To those people who are complaining: This game has been in development during the development of Far Cry 5, likely why the DLCs weren't the best. A smaller studio even worked on this so it didn't really impact the main studio for Ubisoft of Far Cry games, meaning they could actually be developing a 'better' one right now. Obviously, this is getting released very early, which is a perfect fit so other Ubi games that could be in development now could get released later on. It's something to just spice things up while we wait.. This is not a total reskin. Yes, they did use the original Far Cry 5 map of Hope County but heavily modified it, just like how Far Cry: Primal did with Far Cry: 4.
To those complaining about it looking badass and colorful: It's a real thing. It's called superblooming. Problem solved. Was never a problem anyway. Looks amazing.
This is *not* worthy of a DLC; it is way better as a standalone game! You all see... I see... that the DLCs weren't that great. So if this game was a DLC, there would be *strict* limitations and it would probably not be that good. A standalone game makes it so much better so they can add more content and make the game *larger*!
And to those shouting out about the apocalypse: so what? I think it was an amazing idea. Ubisoft heavily relies on community feedback. This was planned for a long time. Great transition. Let Ubisoft try out some darn things.
For the price, so what? I mean yes $40 - this is a lot lower than the Far Cry 5 launch price. Supporting Ubi is pretty nice so they can make their next large Far Cry.

Wouldn't care so much that its just a re-skin of Far cry 5. but the concept of a post apocalyptic Far cry deserves a fully developed game of it own, rather than a re-skin. As long as the price point is reasonable I dont really mind it. But If its a full price game I really Hope the story is nothing short of spectacular and both ties into the events of far cry 5 and then paves the way for a far cry 6. Where they can go full out post apocalyptic. Will have to see more to make a judgement call I guess.

I believe this was a fine idea: They spent FarCry5 talking about the end of the world.. so they make a stand alone where the world ends, its nice.
The problem, for me until now, is that it doesnt feel like a pós apocalyptic game.. So we had a nuclear disaster.. why is everything so colorful, so green? Everyone seens pretty damn normal.. ok, they came from the 80's.. but they are still people.
I love the MadMax idea of pos apocalyptic world.. It doesn have to be the only one, for sure. But its strange, in a world 17 years later.. it seems so happy.. Last of US bring us to a pos apocalyptic green world, but it has its dark places, you feel its a "kill or be killed" world, it's tense.
For me, it reminds me a bit of NewHorizon. Its too much colorful and happy to be believable - but in NewHorizon, since it occurs centuries, perhaps mileniums after the "end" of mankind.. I can understand.

So, this time it is literally IDENTICAL to the previous FC, but with a new coat of paint, a bike that controls exactly like the quads from previous games, and a sawblade weapon that does NOT decapitate people. I've never seen anything so lazily slapped together in my life.

Lol how is this a reskin? People literally say that about every fucking game now that is a sequel. There's new bad ass animations, a beautiful looking map which DOES look different to far cry 5's after the fallout, new npcs, new weapons, new abilities and not to mention the graphics are great. (Let's hope they don't downgrade)

@Googgoo Nic I definitely appreciated the serious nature of FarCry3 and it was a total miss to tone it down that for the next few games but i have to disagree on the idea that newer Farcry games are not innovative. With Farcry 5 for example, the new map and setting is an innovation in itself. That paired with the new roster system, makes for some nice changes and the ability to drive planes was also a great addition. As for this game, we'll have to wait and see cause 8 mins isn't enough to delve too deep into new mechanics but for me personally it looks promising. Im the kind of person who actually likes the addition of new weapons and enemies so long as they are unique (the saw crossbow looked pretty cool for example) all should be fine.

Everything in this game has been ported from previous far cry it probably only took them three months to get this done since the code NPCs models are already on their hard drives. From the location on the map and by the shape of maybe some of the buildings, I'm going to guess that Prosperity was built on the site of the Seed Ranch from 5? It would be kind of funny that the former stronghold of the Seed family became your safe haven after everything they'd done to usher in this new world.
Far Cry Primal was divisive, and I personally liked it, but even if you didn't, you can't argue it didn't have WAY more new ideas than this re-skin. RIP Blood Dragon
