IIT Kharagpur also has MHRM(MBA-HR), under the Department of Humanities and Social Science. It's fee is around 3 to 4L. Total expenses would be 5L approx. Average ctc - 14.1 LPA, Median - 14.6 LPA, Lowest - 11 LPA and Highest -19LPA. A very good program for HR.

So I'll write cat exam again and got into some top colleges while doing mba in tier 2 college. 1, Can I discontinue in tier 2 college and study in the tier 1 after completing one year? 2, Will there be any other challenges /problems (like getting tc...) 3, Is it a common thing (can i do like this) 4, will you recommend this method or dropping one year and trying next year?
Hi! Thanks for your unique take on this topic which shows you’ve really researched quite a lot for this ,to paint a realistic picture to aspirants. On the same lines, I have the following suggestion of another topic for your video that you can consider. While searching about MBA/ MIM options from India as well as abroad, I found that in abroad countries, mostly in France, Germany and other European countries, the course that offers admission with less or zero work ex is MIM (as compared to MBA, which requires 3-5 yrs of work ex). Some programs there can be comparable in terms of fees and salaries offered compared to top IIMs in India, as far as I understood on surface level (For example: in Germany a few institutions offer MIM approximately in the INR 20-40 lacs range ). Since you have your fair share of experience from IIM A, and can judge these factors more practically, I would request you to plan a collaborative session with someone from your network who may have studied in such courses abroad or considered the both and taken decision for themselves during their times. I’ve searched a lot on YT but haven’t found such technical comparison with all pros and cons of choosing either (MBA/PGDBM from top IIMs, vs MIM from abroad) for different segment of aspirants. I really hope you consider making this as it’ll add a lot of values like any other video of yours!
MIM programs are like Mcom of EU or any other general degree in mgmt/ commerce. The ROI on such degrees will be real low. The MIM programs are not much of use, the salary too wouldn't be much after the program hence please do good research on the program before joining. I am talking about MIMs offered in Europe.

Di, recently I watched a video where someone described that people can fail and be expelled from IIMs. So if someone has taken a loan and didn't perform well or get failed in exams, what happens then? Please enlighten us about this Are there any complementary exams or something like that?
I am not aware which video is this but that is not what happens when you fail. To fail the entire year, you need 'D' grade or worse in 3+ courses or 'F' grade in 2 courses (something of this sort was there at IIM-A I can't recall properly). Only if you fail any course, you have to take it again the next year with your junior batch - 2-3 of my batchmates had to go through this due to emergencies. Only 1 student failed the term in my batch due to a case of cheating but was not expelled. At max, you may be asked to re-appear the year. You can be expelled in case of grave misconduct or misbehaviour e.g. a case of sexual harassment at some other B-school was a case of expulsion. It is very rare someone would fail a term/year. If you can make it to an IIM, it will be soooooo difficult for you to fail a course. In the courses where I understood nothing at all (thinking of one of the quants courses taught at IIM-A), I got a C grade. There's a normal distribution of grades at IIMs which means those at the tail of the curve get a C grade in the course. Rarely would someone get a D also, forget failing, whichever video you referred to - please see if the information is verified by personal experience or proofs?

Currently I have just started my last year of BBA, and I would be appearing for cat the next year. I wanted to join a job after my undergraduate. Hey Ankita, having a gap isn't a problem as long as your reason is justifiable. You can take a gap but having work-ex will always help improve your chances of placement especially in the finance domain. Do consider applying for a job. I know it may be difficult to manage but it will also reflect management skills on your part if you ace it.

Can you share which field are you interested in? Relevant work-ex helps in fields like PM tech, Investment Banking. Marketing doesn't need any work-ex, same with HR and consulting.

Ma'am I m second year student and will give second year exam probably in August September but my first year result is yet to come . Hopefully it will come this month Can I give cat 2022 ?? I will graduate in 2023 .
There were two conditions in the last year's CAT eligibility - you should be in the final year in November and you should have graduated before the batch starts in whichever B-school you wish to join which is mostly June/July. This year when the notification comes, you'll get better clarity. They also have a helpline number you can call and confirm when the form gets out. For now, just try preparing as if you will be eligible for this year's attempt.

And what is the general workex cutoff to be on the safe side 2. If they offer PM roles in finals as well, How different are they from laterals or summers(if offered)
Hey Satyanarayan, thanks for asking. Some PM roles come only for normal placements, some come for laterals only and some come for both but the roles offered differ. Most students who target PM-tech are are from tech background target Microsoft, Sprinklr, Google in normal placements. In case of laterals, the firms that hire well are Amazon, Flipkart. There are some startups that hire for these roles too in normal placements as well as laterals. The general work-ex suggested is ~1.5-2 years.

Hello Shubhamay, if you want to do MBA please join some good coaching classes . They will definitely help you regarding your weaker sections. Arun Sharma book is not easy for the person who is not well versed with the basics or even you are intermediate level. Don't loose hope.
Hey! Don't worry, it is okay if you couldn't solve many questions. If you've lost touch it is given that you may not be able to solve the questions in the first go. Try reading the theory of an easy chapter, e.g. percentages or profit and loss and then attempt only a few of the easy questions. If you're still not comfortable, try watching a YT lecture on that topic before you attempt questions. From personal experience, I can share that it gets better with spending time on the chapters.

IM(FMS) BHU can also be added. Fees is around 1lakh & average placement is around 9.5 lpa, median is 9.1lpa Infosys & IBM offers consultant role there.

You completely forgot aboout MBA IIT kanpur, which has a fee of around 4 lakh and has an average package on the north of 15 lakh. I'm an old student of the same college and trust me, it's a really good prospect considering the ROI factor.

I am curious about the propect of one doing MBA from either DFS or DBE or DSE. How do they compare to other premier B-Schools in industry exposure, pedagogy and on-campus recuiters?
I am not sure about DBE/DSE - have asked their alums and will be sharing whenever they respond but for DFS, the review is shared in the video. The alums that I talked to said the finance jobs are not as good as those offered at the top IIMs. The roles + pay differ significantly, the infrastructure and alum network is also not comparable. Was told to choose IIM Indore over DFS. Hope this helps.

You could have included DOMS - IIT Madras. Avg is around 16 lakhs and fees is around 8 lakh last year.

I am doing acca, and will mostly finish by next years June or sept .
Currently I have just started my last year of BBA, and I would be appearing for cat the next year. I wanted to join a job after my undergraduate. But now that I think of it, managing acca , cat preparation and job would be very difficult.
Can u suggest me what can I do ? Is it fine if I don’t go with the job and solely focus on acca and cat exam preparation? Or do u think that job is necessary?
Hey Ankita, having a gap isn't a problem as long as your reason is justifiable. You can take a gap but having work-ex will always help improve your chances of placement especially in the finance domain. Do consider applying for a job. I know it may be difficult to manage but it will also reflect management skills on your part if you ace it.

Can you share which field are you interested in? Relevant work-ex helps in fields like PM tech, Investment Banking. Marketing doesn't need any work-ex, same with HR and consulting.

Ma'am I m second year student and will give second year exam probably in August September but my first year result is yet to come . Hopefully it will come this month Can I give cat 2022 ?? I will graduate in 2023 .
There were two conditions in the last year's CAT eligibility - you should be in the final year in November and you should have graduated before the batch starts in whichever B-school you wish to join which is mostly June/July.
This year when the notification comes, you'll get better clarity. They also have a helpline number you can call and confirm when the form gets out.
For now, just try preparing as if you will be eligible for this year's attempt.

1. Do companies offer PM roles in lateral hiring only. And what is the general workex cutoff to be on the safe side
2. If they offer PM roles in finals as well, How different are they from laterals or summers(if offered)
Hey Satyanarayan, thanks for asking. Some PM roles come only for normal placements, some come for laterals only and some come for both but the roles offered differ. Most students who target PM-tech are are from tech background target Microsoft, Sprinklr, Google in normal placements. In case of laterals, the firms that hire well are Amazon, Flipkart. There are some startups that hire for these roles too in normal placements as well as laterals. The general work-ex suggested is ~1.5-2 years.
Di I have also commented earlier.....is there any problem in my selection in iims and as well as placement there as my graduation will complete at the age of 23.5 ( btech ) as I had taken drop and most of the people complete their graduation at the age of 22 so is there any problem regarding age plzz di tell me or am being too old at that time...

Ma'am, my Maths is not strong. Today I tried the Pre assesment test of 25 questions given in the Arun Sharma's quant book and I was hardly able to solve 5 questions. I have forgotten whatever I have studied until std. 10 (almost 3 years back). So, I am asking with a heavy heart that should I prepare for CAT considering my current condition ?

Hello Shubhamay, if you want to do MBA please join some good coaching classes . They will definitely help you regarding your weaker sections. Arun Sharma book is not easy for the person who is not well versed with the basics or even you are intermediate level. Don't loose hope.
Hey! Don't worry, it is okay if you couldn't solve many questions. If you've lost touch it is given that you may not be able to solve the questions in the first go. Try reading the theory of an easy chapter, e.g. percentages or profit and loss and then attempt only a few of the easy questions. If you're still not comfortable, try watching a YT lecture on that topic before you attempt questions. From personal experience, I can share that it gets better with spending time on the chapters.

Some institutes like IIM-A will consider you at par with engineers. Bsc and Btech are in the same academic category as per IIMA.
Hey , in your video of how to crack cat with weak quants , the Arun Sharma you mentioned was of 9th edition , and the latest one is 10th . I should go with 10 th edition or 9th one is better
You completely forgot aboout MBA IIT kanpur, which has a fee of around 4 lakh and has an average package on the north of 15 lakh. I'm an old student of the same college and trust me, it's a really good prospect considering the ROI factor.

Hey Sanchit, no it will not. Some of my batchmates were from non-math backgrounds, there are special classes organized at B-schools to help you come at par with the math required on campus.

Yes, unless it's lateral hiring at IIM-A (for people with high work-ex) where ESOPs can get negotiated basis relevant experience, the base salary is the same.
E.g. at Mondelez, all my colleagues from A/B/C/L/K/FMS/XLRI/SPJIMR got the same pay!

Ma'am, I am from BBA 2nd year from a tier-3 college with 81.2% in 10th and 69% in 12th and a drop year as I failed class 12th 😪 and I want to study MBA in Data analytics which colleges are the best and what should be my CAT score to Get admission to those colleges. I am curious about the propect of one doing MBA from either DFS or DBE or DSE. How do they compare to other premier B-Schools in industry exposure, pedagogy and on-campus recuiters?
I am not sure about DBE/DSE - have asked their alums and will be sharing whenever they respond but for DFS, the review is shared in the video. The alums that I talked to said the finance jobs are not as good as those offered at the top IIMs. The roles + pay differ significantly, the infrastructure and alum network is also not comparable. Was told to choose IIM Indore over DFS.
