Army Veteran Rises Out of the Ashes Following Maui Wildfires

  • One year after devastating wildfires wiped out Lahaina, Army veteran Eric Ryan reflects on what he has gained and not what was lost. The increasing cost of living in his little beach town made it nearly impossible to find affordable housing, leaving Ryan homeless and living out of his car when the wildfires ignited on August 8, 2023, engulfing nearly everything in their path along the Maui coast. But he rose out of the ashes, thanks to the help he received from U.S.VETS that led to a new apartment in Kihei and a new start.

    Every military base should have housing for vets. They can build their war machines, why not house veterans on base or from base near by
