Can Ash Ketchum Beat Pokémon Emerald Rogue?

- Emerald Rogue is probably my favorite Pokémon Rom Hack, especially since it so repayable! Though it tends to get fairly difficult. This begs the question, could Ash Ketchum Beat Pokémon Emerald Rogue?
The rules here are simple: I will start a new playthrough of Emerald Rogue and make the trainers as hard as possible. And the only Pokémon I will be allowed to catch are the ones Ash used up to the battle frontier season in the anime. (Spoiler: I may or may not, but totally do, break this last rule, but it's an accident ok!)
So let's see how it goes!

Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules:
1) Only Catch The First Pokémon On Each Route
2) If A Pokémon Faints, I Cant Use Them

Emerald Rogue is already difficult enough, let alone having any restrictions like having Ash’s team. Love that you tried this type of challenge!
Yeah there were a lot of false starts. That’s actually the reason I limited myself to gen 3 because it would have been even harder if the other gens were introduced.
For sure, this was a great accomplishment on its own

It should be legal to catch evolved pokemon like Meganium just to breed them and get a Chikorita, then release

considering the toughness of the challenge and the gen 3 dex limit, bend the concept as far as ya can. gotta have fun and you justify it pretty well.

Yeah that was crazy. I easily could have lost there, if I didn't get as luck as I did. Without confusing himself, I would never had taken out that zapdos.
Thing is, can Haunter evolve via lv up on Emerald Rogue?
Not level up, but there is a “link cable” held item that lets him.
@@NuzlockeJoeand you did limit yourself to nothing beyond BF so I guess even home region mons, regardless of when it was captured, is out of the question

Thats true, but I was only using pokemon ash had up to his Battle Frontier journey in the anime. He didnt get a gengar till way later
If breifly traveling counted then ultra beast would be allowed

Yes that’s true, but I consider base Pokémon who ash didn’t have fair game as long as I can evolve them. But evolving beyond a Pokémon he didn’t have was not allowed

Never a goldeen but did own gastly but no be4 gen 3 so you broke your own rules twice so you didn't really beat the game.
Ash did not have a goldeen, but he did have a seaking temporarily, and I think that's fair game. Same with ghastly. Back in Kanto he travelled with a haunter, and "used" one against sabrina so gastly was fair game. I just wasn't allowed to go past evolutions ash didnt have, so no warturtle, ivysaur, etc.
