The TFwiki speculates that the black/green Energon Unicron was a reference to an old store display, of all things. If Core Class was guaranteed to continue, I would have loved a Core Unicron. It's not like the character can ever truly be in scale.
Yeah. scales always gonna be Unicron’s ultimate nemesis.
The blue one is the American prototype where as the green one is the Japanese one. Both Hasbro and Takara had their own design for Unicron.

This was an insta buy for me, and don't mind ReAction figures in general. It's just that S7 is generally priced 20% higher than anybody else doing the same thing, and they frequently make rookie mistakes in their engineering. Love their art design and deep dives. I'm cool with their merch, but I usually wait for a discount.

I have the Energon Unicron, Primus, and Darth Vader planets. I couldn't spare the mortgage payment for the super deluxe one that came out a few years ago tho.
Yeah, its a big ask in the cost and space department for sure.
@@NiStuff I can barely justify the cost of the regular store figures now n again, like $20-30 bucks for a 4 inch tall figure is ridiculous
Armada Unicron, Primus and Death Star Vader really satisfied my War Planets need.
I do have the yellow and blue one on what is sort of a G1 type shelf, along with toy colors Galvatron

I still feel that hasbro should do like a unicron head toy, make him transform in to a tiny unicron, or maybe even a helmet that could actually be almost in scale with the figures
Agree, there’s definitely a customer base that would be ALL over this.
The Haslab Unicron can detach the head, and it comes with a stand for it

Really kinda wish the OG mold for this Unicron (technically the Unicron this is based on) wasn't lost or whatever and they did a reissue/official release at some point. Although with the absurd price stuff going on with transformers right now i don't think I'd ever be able to even afford it if it did. Been kinda tempted to get one of these little guys at some point, maybe both. Prices keep fluctuating up and down on these reaction things between 9 and 20 dollars drives me insane and drives me off actually biting the bullet since every time I got money it's back up to 20 or even 30 something.
It's still crazy to me how the first actually released Unicron (the one from armada) was just basically perfect for all future Unicron's going forward to the point they just re-released him several times with a slightly different color or head constantly till the haslab thing happened. Still kinda pissed about how the price of it went from like $50 to like $100 or something like that back in the day when they changed the packaging to say "universe" instead of "armada" or "energon" Only Unicron I have ever owned and still owned aside from maybe like the weird small ones that came out around a few years later is the first Armada one. I think he's on some storage shelf that used to be a bed somewhere with tidal wave, if not 100% sure. Might go check up on it sometime to see if it's like not moldified or something after being there for like what 9 years or more? Past decade's gone by way too fast for me man. Speaking of the last decade I REALLY wanted that Takara g1 repaint they put out in like 2010 for the anniversary, still kinda do but I'm not willing to pay over 300 for a used copy, don't even got the money for that lmao.
Long comment I know but one more thing about Armada Unicron I remembered is he actually transforms like the g1 movie minus the wrists sliding out. They flip around on the armada toy. it's close enough to sliding.

Honestly, I'm, glad we didn't get that Unicron toy in the 80s. I think I would have loved the idea of getting it but then grow to dislike how different it was from the movie. BUT I'm glad these figure versions exist.

I don't hate Super 7, I just think it's ridiculously overpriced. I enjoy the few I've picked up on clearance for under ten bucks. If they were normally around that price I'd have a lot more.

BTW: I don’t get the hate for the Reaction figures, either, @NiStuff. They’re basically just Kenner Star Wars style figures of different properties. Little Desk toys to fiddle with on occasion.
But if the hate is coming for ‘$20 MSRP?!?!?!’, then I totally get it. But for $5-$10 on clearance? Then why not grab one if you see a character you like? They aren’t half bad little figs.
