I have one of these that's gotten bigger. I've been sick for almost 3 months with all kinds of shoulder, neck, occipital, temple and top of head pain. Can't stop coughing from the nasal drainage, constant phlegm. Went to an ENT doctor at Johns Hopkins. He was terrible. Didn't physically examine me, ordered an MRI and didn't look at that, spent an entire 3 minutes with me and couldn't wait to run out the door, mumbled something about taking steroids and maybe having him do surgery! I don't think so. Can't see a different doctor at Hopkins because they said I'm stuck with this clown since I saw him already!!! I expected him to explain things the way you did in this video but he didn't. I'm now searching the internet for medical interpretation of what I have that he should have given me. I'm glad you made this video. When CZcams has better doctors than Johns Hopkins....
@@evelynhernandez7106 since I wrote that, I have found a good ENT doctor who figured out what was wrong and it had nothing to do with ear nose or throat. The cyst is not actually draining like they and my new and permanent ENT said to perform surgery on it would make it worse and to leave it alone. Oddly, he says what I have is silent gerd. He says stomach acid is silently coming up and I don't feel it but it is catching in my windpipe I guess and causing all the coughing and everything and it feels like drippage from above but it's actually from below. I now noticed certain things I eat that trigger it and if I take medicine for GERD that stops the cough. This isn't even his specialty area, he just deduced it

@@dseely721 hello! no I did not had it removed. I didn’t do anything about it. It’s supposed to be harmless and no action is needed. Thank goodness my symptoms did went away on their own. I hope it’s the same for you! If you’re concerned talk with your doctor about it but I’m sure it’s nothing to be worried about.

In my case I notice frequent headaches dizziness and I can’t smell well , but I also had 3 Sino plasty procedures. So praying for the best and see what happens. Did u get yours removed ?

I've had two seizures so my doctor ordered an MRI and they found bilateral maxillary sinus retention cysts. One of my mom's friends has a daughter who started having seizures just like I did, and they ended up finding the same cysts in her sinuses. They had the cysts removed, and she stopped having seizures.
Thats crazy. I suffer from seizures and i did a mri last week to follow up on my last year mri and they saw i had one of these. When youd get seizures would it be during night or day? I get in at night around 4AM if i do have 1.

Hi thanks for the details provided, i had a CT scan in a checkup and there were 2 cysts observed in left maxillary sinus, 15x10mm and 6x6mm, and i do hobby singing, my question is, what would be the possible implications of them in terms of how voice resonates? Logically to me because they took space in the cavity it would have negative impact, but i would like to hear whether the impact is small or significant, because i don’t know when they have accumulated(could be even before i start singing) i don’t have a sense of it. There is a huge cyst on left side and as per reports the differentials include :odontogenic keratocyst, dentigerous cyst and unilocular ameloblastoma. They are saying removing of bone as its eroding along with this water filled cyst and even upper part of mouth. But can't only enucleation be enough.
Ty k need to get the report but can it effect your life/ sleep if it's big enough due restrictions? Oxygen wise ? Also is it common to sometimes smell puss in nose? And can it get big enough to effect brain like pituitary hormones or paraneal gland? Wb please ty

i have something like this in my lips from inside i have it for over a year now it fills and pops and closes and start to fill back and pop its so annoying
I have a retention cyst first located by MRI of the sinus. When I first awaken in the morning and stand up, gravity causes the sinus fluid that has built up over night , because of the cyst, to suddenly all starts to flow down the back of my throat at once. This makes me feel like I'm drowning in my own sinus fluid and start choking to expel the thick fluid. This experience can go on for several minutes before I can get a good breath once again. I no longer panic because I know it will end shortly. Only on one occasion did it last long enough for me to become dizzy. This has been going on for years and happens 9 out of 10 days of my life.
I have the same problem. The ENT doctor brushed me and said I shouldn't have problems when I explained it to him. I have problems sleeping because of this.
I have a question I had a maxillary sinus cyst for 14 years. The pain comes and goes I feel the pressure on my teeth. It is annoying. But my ENT didn't want to do a surgery. I was okay since I bare the pain, took sprays and meds. But recently it is too much the pain. The pressure is immense. The new ENT suggested surgery. I want this gone. But I know there will be bleeding and discomfort for weeks. Isn't there any other way but surgery? The sprays are not helping.
1:58 had one removed yesterday.. Found on mri for something else, my surgeon said to get it out and have a biopsy to see what it is?.. Awaiting results.. Surgery was quick, not to painful the day after just some bleeding. To be honest I wanted it out of my face it was quite noticeable.

Currently the working diagnosis is a nasolabial cyst based on his assessment but im still waiting to be referred to get a ct scan so he can see what it looks like. we wont know what it is definitively until we remove the cyst but the doctor says the chances of it being cancerous are very low. Im still terrified though
I went to a maxofacial with awful left sided face pain, watering left nostril, eye pain with slight visual issues, jaw pain, vertigo, pain above my second upper molar which had already been extracted 2yrs prior (i thought it was my tmj) he did a panoramic xray and saw the cyst (he said jaw joint fine) go see ent, saw ent who did a sinus ct scan - follow up the radiologist hadnt looked at it or written a report so i dont know size but ent said it wouldnt be causing my issues, it must be a migraine, brain mri hasnt showed anything of interest apart from cysts/polyps in the maxillary sinus. So my question is this - could this cyst be the cause as it wasnt found incidentally - it was found because of the pain. Its not migraines im certain, neuro is exploring the possibility of hemacrania continua but again im not certain. It seems to me that because they rarely cause symptoms its just being dismissed.

Would surgery be advised in this case? It kinda came out of nowhere for me but pain was made worse by covid illness.
You say it usually isnt of concern if it is in the max sinuses, but what if I have a small one by my eye and a nickle size on on the middle/side of my nose? I believe they are said to be in the ethmoid sinuses. I KNOW I didnt have them before my drs advice. I TRULY believe it was a direct result of my dr's advice to nasal irrigate with these nasal antibiotics/sterioids and BABY SHAMPOO!!!!!??? I am so scared it form a cancerous cyst bc I AM CERTAIN they werent there before. What are you thoughts?

I have been doing some hypertonic nasal rinsing and am taking a nasal steroid in the hopes that it addresses this. Been dealing with off and on sinus pressure and illness for 8 months now. My hope is that I can avoid surgery by doing some at home work to help clear the blockages.
While in prison i had a large oroantral communication develop following an extraction. They later tried to put some kind of plug in it which failed. It has now been 8 years since the communication developed. Several times a year i get infections in it. But something is different this time. Its scaring me.... I hate this and wish i had insurance. What should i do.
just had one of these pop up on my MRI(for neck hypertension) and CT scan(for deviated septum) have chronic sinusitis issues so i will be interested in finding my course of treatment here in the near future

Hi. U may have an "oronasal fistula" feeding bacteria from the root canal site into ur sinuses. Talk to ur dentist or anyone who will carefully listen to ur concerns.

Yes! I’ve been suffering with TN pain for almost a decade. Now they did MRI & discovered 2 large cysts in both maxillary but the TN itself looks fine. Now ENT believes that the cysts have been causing this horrible nerve pain all along!! I’m being referred to OT surgeon for possible cyst removal surgery PS I found this in a report ::“ Can a maxillary cyst cause nerve pain? Facial pain over the maxilla has been described in the literature to be caused by air cysts in the maxilla and is due to the irritation of the trigeminal nerve“ Hope this info helps #trigeminalneuralgia

Ents are unfortunately not good and there in a hurry to do surgery that causes dryness and suffocation

Eat one garlic every morning with bread and olive oil or alone it helps me to breathe and stop the swelling cyst

So did you get it resolved? I have mucous retention cyst, small one and it's annoying breath. I finally figured out what's wrong.

U may have an "oronasal fistula" feeding bacteria from the root canal site into ur sinuses.
Talk to ur dentist or anyone who will carefully listen to ur concerns.
can it affect the trigeminal nerve? I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia and I wonder if this cyst is causing my symptoms???

Yes! I’ve been suffering with TN pain for almost a decade. Now they did MRI & discovered 2 large cysts in both maxillary but the TN itself looks fine. Now ENT believes that the cysts have been causing this horrible nerve pain all along!! I’m being referred to OT surgeon for possible cyst removal surgery PS I found this in a report ::“ Can a maxillary cyst cause nerve pain?

@@run3723 I have one in my left Sphenoid sinus. 1.5cm my symptoms are horrible . I deal with facial numbing , balance issues , lightheadedness, brain fog , vision issues and facial cramping/locking
I have a cyst in my sphenoid sinus. I had an mri done due to having headaches. Fast forward two years later and I'm loosing my vision its become blurry. Pain and pressure behind my eyes and temporal area .At times times I feel like I'm on nyquil and it's hard to concentrate or think correctly you become lightheaded.
