  • Officially assembly complete on the new Pilot-rc Matrix. The build assembly was very straight forward with no modifications needed. All the parts included in the kit fits correctly. The paint and finish on this jet was expertly done with out a flaw. Thank you to all that following the build series I am excited to take this jet out to the field for the maiden flight. See you all at Gatewayrc for the maiden flight video.

    Man I learned more great I do from this video and your other video the I have learned going to jet meets for years. The label maker servo heat shrink label was very cool thanks Also thanks for the tip with the break controller and just a real great video. Thank you for taking your time to do this. I’m is so Cal Thanks

      I’m happy to hear that you liked my videos and more so that you learned something from the videos. That was my goal why I made these videos. I’ve met and chatted with many pilots that want to get into turbine but they don’t know where to start and how to build them. That’s where the inspiration came from, to educate those who wants to get into turbine models.

    looking for something that is bigger than the ranger, with a light wing load, i dont need or want VT, keep the weight down. just a good sport jet that can be flown at tight fields, this maybe it. thanks for the info. great videos

      The Matrix would be a great candidate for what you are looking for. Light wing loading and slows down very well for landings. Our runway is 450’ long, with a K120 I’m able to off at half that length and have landed and stopped about the same distance.

      Congratulations, you will love this jet. The K130 will provide great power for this lightweight jet.

    about got my Matrix together, very fast build. it looks great. thanks for the build video-One question, my jet came with a piece of aluminun about 6x12 inches, where does it go?

    • @WarrenRC6373
      @WarrenRC6373  Před měsícem +1

      Pilot-rc started including that sheet of aluminum recently. It’s supposed to mount above the turbine near the bell mouth. It’s to protect the top of the fuselage incase of a fire from wet start. Mine didn’t come with one and I honestly can’t tell you how to mount it. I’m not sure if Pilot-rc included an instruction on how to mount it.

    Heat shrink labels are clean! What size is the tubing? It looks like it fit over the connector and still shrunk down to the wires. Very nice!

    Re the retract controller and it’s current and voltage to the retracts I see that’s it’s got a small power wire to the whole thing. Little worried about having enough current to get stubborn electric re-tracks start moving. Does it run on 12 V three Lipo or is it 2 cell ? And what battery are you using. Thank you

    • @WarrenRC6373
      @WarrenRC6373  Před 6 měsíci

      No issue with having the small retract wire. I’ve used this same setup on several turbine jets. The factory retract controller is rated for 7.4-8.4v that being said 12v is a bit excessive. The AG68 is rated for 7.4v-8.4v, I’m running 8.4v and it provides more than enough power to operate both the retract and brakes. Brakes I had to reduce the endpoints cause it was locking up the wheel. As for consumption, it uses less than a 100mah of a full cycle of retracts and brakes in one flight. I have done both having a separate battery for retract/brakes and tapping power for the Powerbox from an open channel with zero issue. My goal on this built was to keep it as light as possible so the AG68 is tapping into an open channel on the Powerbox. It’s literally sipping mah in one flight. The AG68 also shuts off power to the nose steering while the gears are retracted.

    Could you post a link for the PCB boards that you mention at the 12 min mark? I've ordered an ARF so I will need to make my own wiring harness for the wings.

    • @WarrenRC6373
      @WarrenRC6373  Před 7 měsíci +1

      There is a battery rail on the left side of the nose, right behind the Ecu battery tray. That’s where the flight packs are mounted. I’m editing the maiden footages and have pictures to show the internal of the jet.
