    i heard that garmin 67 needs more time to determine point than 66sr.. in my country is 560€ with forest map and 67 for 620€ with map. Money is not a problem..not much difference.. but i realy need acurate determination of points and fast in forest i mean borders. i dont know what to do..

    Cant you simply use your phone by downloading offline maps? Or am I missing something?

      It’s about having a dedicated device for a specific purpose. When out in the backcountry for long periods of time, all battery powered devices must be used in limitation as to preserve as much of the energy stored in the battery as possible. While your phone can be your communication device, SOS device, your compass, Camera, calculator, and GPS, it isn’t wise to use it for all of those applications and more, as it is very limited in battery life (9 hours on average). This is small when compared to rechargeable satellite Communication devices and GPS devices which can have up to 200 hours or much more.

      Bro, you get these because they operate by satellite. Your phone won’t work in the mountains.

      @@johnirvine9942 I wouldn't want to rely on my iphone in an emergency situation haha. Thing shuts off if it gets to cold, not rugged enough when traveling off the grid.
