- I like to analyze and see how the players that interact with me are doing. I found a common denominator along the line of recreational players (intermediate and advanced also), and it's that all of them struggle in keeping strong position and keeping balance in their strokes! So here it is one short but amazing routine to work on that!
Enjoy! - Sport
Really appreciated this type of excersises, I’m training by my own and it’s hard to find these type of content, in Spanish or English thank you so much, keep going, Gretting from Mexico
If Internet existed when I started playing tennis in the early 90's, with guys like you giving so many tips and dtills, my tennis today would much better.
haha thanks for that Ney! I'm glad you enjoy them! Keep working hard, there is always time to improve!!
same here, an avid tennis recreational player in '96 to '99, my high school days. During that time the only way to learn tennis is to watch the matches on TV or hire a tennis coach in the clubhouse, most of them are as clueless as you are. Kids are so lucky these days they have YT.
Awesome resistance band training... Thank you!
Excellent as always Gaston. With the Tennis season just around the corner this is exactly the tennis specific training I was after. Appreciate the demonstrations and explanation for each drill.
Thanks!! That is great, for sure amazing to prepare and get strong for a season! Best of luck! Remember, work hard, play smart!
Thanks for your videos Gaston, always something to learn ! Can you make a video on rotator cuff, and exercises to avoid shoulder injury. Thanks
Great video, will be implementing these into my training, Thankyou!
Thanks a lot! They will really help you!
Gaston, thank you! Nobody talks about this.
This is really top notch resistance band training for tennis. I'm 46 and train with semi pros regularly. Thank you!
Do you have a similar video for more general strength training using bands. Particularly attached to a pole or fence like you're showing in this video?
Thank you so much, I love your videos keep going
finally someone who understands how to do band work properly.
3:12 If I'm not wrong that's actually an open stance. Closed stance would be if the leg on the non-hitting side crosses over the hitting side leg. Exercises are amazing though.
Gaston, another great training video. You and Top Training Tennis are the best in giving pro style training videos. Can I ask how do you mount your elastic band to the fence? Also wait amount of weight tension do you use? My guess is around 20 lbs.
Hi Wally! Thanks a lot for that! Yes, they do have great content, coming of course from their experience!
I used another elastic band to tie that one since it wasn't fitting through the wholes of the fence. The green one yes might be around 20 lbs.. there are red and black after that one but those are for very short and quick movements looking only for power. This one has much better reach! :)
Thank you.
Excellent, Gaston, Mr. Excellence. - I have noted that fatigue on the court hurts first and most my forehand (accuracy, power, control), not my 1HBH. And why is that? Maybe since the forehand being modern and Federer-style needs more bodily control and power in the sense the lose wrist and forearm keep their angles in the preparations and forward swing and the explosive power is produced from the big lower body muscles for the shot on the right moment and with enough explosive energy. Meanwhile the biomechanics of the 1HBH seem to be such that they are in a way more natural and forgiving for severe drop in energy and power levels allowing you still swing quite accurate and heavy balls CCD (cross-court deep) & 1 x CCS (cross-court short). I noticed this once again in my yesterday's training session in which it was 2 x CCD + 1 x CCS repetitions from both sides. My forehands flew and floated often out or were otherwise inaccurate and subpar executions much more strikingly (a pun intended) than on the 1HBH side. Have you; Gaston, anything to add in this regards? Or anyone? To conclude: You should swing more backhands longer the match advances and keep your inside out forehand in the bay, so to speak (of course, the fact your legs get more tired as the match goes on even further adds to this principle)? You agree?
Thanks for that amazing comment Jack! Correct, forehand mostly takes more physical conditions therefore you get more tired. About the question, yes.. better get strong on the backhand and leave the forehand to build the point or to make a surprise breaking shot!
Muito bom!
Meu professor de tennis também assiste aos seus vídeos.
