Greetings from Brazil!
Best video about improving forehand, ever!
You really managed to illustrate what every coach try to teach about getting powerfull forehand.
Congrats! You got a new subscriber!
Thanks for all the videos this year Kevin! Happy New Year! 🎊 🎉
Absolutely amazing ! Thank you so much for this video !
This is awesome… please load more drills for home training. Thank you!!!
Excellent video. Finally somebody explains the kinetic chain in detail. Just by doing the drills I am really understanding the transfer of the body in to the ball and I can feel that by stopping the forward movement of the hips and allow the arm racket to hit the ball with more power . Thank you Kevin. Good work.
Fernando
Oh my God what a powerful video!Thank youuuu ❤
Brilliant breakdown! Thank you!!
Love this Kevin - you're doing great content
Thanks for the video! Great instruction 🔥
Great job son! ❤happy New Years! Love you bunches> be blessed ❤🎉
Great idea!
Great video. I have started rotating the shoulder further as discussed here and the difference has been enormous both in depth and power. The only problem is as I get tired I revert to my old, “safer” style and have to really focus to regain the form. Practicing against the wall before a match helps getting into the shoulder extension groove. 🎾🎾🎾
Thank you!
Best video on forehand. Everything is in the mechanics!
You are the best man explaining. Thank you for your content
So perfect explanation, thank you so much. I'll take it up. 😊👍
Gracias tronco. Excelente.
One of the best 'improve forehand videos' I have ever seen!
Really great!
Great tips Kevin! I have a habit of trying to muscle the ball with my arm so this is an excellent swing thought to focus on. Much appreciated! 👏🙂
So very thanks my man.
This is so good content, really professional insights, ❤
The best illustration of the forehand kinetic chain!
I have been watching foot placement on pros and it makes sense to have a fair amount of internal rotation on your right foot in your stance because if not it’s impossible to open your hips all the way and the heel will have to pop up instead of push. Just a detail I saw. Great vid.
Always very informative and useful videos. Thanks
Amazing vid coach 👍
best video i've seen so far to sort out my forehand weakness
Thanks for sharing Kavin 👏🏻
One week of doing this and the improvement is INSANE! Thank you so much!
Can you tell us what have you improved ? Thanks.
Awesome video man. For a man with kids who can't play that often, this is a game changer!
thanks so much for this detail
Excellent vedio thank you
I wish the hip shoulder separation was mentioned more often in the past. Patrick, Serenas previous coach explains hitting a forehand by throwing your hand at the ball after getting loaded, I got a lesson saying the same. I never really heard anyone talk about the hip shoulder separation on any of the youtube teaching pros until about 2 months ago I stumbled upon a video by Tim Mayotte, former pro. It wont feel good for a while as it takes getting used to if you have been doing it wrong a long time like myself. Just make sure elbow is up and you have enough distance from the ball when you swing. Much more power when you get used to it and you hit harder by a faster rotation of hips not arm. Good stuff Kevin !!!
Great tips 🎉
👍 Kevin. I work on shadow swings everyday, but I will focus on this going forward, this does both. We met in Costa Rica in ET. Jim
My best to you and your 👪
Very very helpful re the reps.i am just to start your drill.Thank you!The weather is inclement to say the least for the next few days.Re the reps thing:i have done serve reps for months now,and now i have a pretty decent serve. And if i can do it with zero athletic ability.Anyone can,and have fun.And be a whole lot fitter.Happy New Year🎉
this video made a major difference in my game. thanks Kevin
This was a great video. I have always bent my legs and stayed low. However, I always shoot straight up, especially on the forehand. And people will tell you to move your weight into the ball. This drill made me realize that the movement comes from the hip. I definitely felt it in my right hip with just doing the drill at home. I also tend to come to the ball late and my should does not come out in front. I think with these two things in mind, I will hit cleaner. Thank you!
Wow I will start doing this drill so I can be better at my forehand. Thanks so much.
Good lesson coach 👍
This is again one of the best stroke mechanic help video i have ever seen. This guy should be coaching the top players in ATP tour
Should you do the same exact thing with your left arm for a two-handed backhand? Great video. I look forward to doing this.
Excellent
I learn too much whit this video, compliments. ,👏👏👏
Great video, awesome coach you are Kevin! Also, does it help to take off the shirt during practice to get Thiem's forehand?
Great !
Huge helpful, i think your brain is full of everything about tennis.
happy new year, Kevin. Great video. really useful.
Hello Kevin great video! Just one doubt, how can I practice this aligned with the fact to hit the ball in front and not hitting it late? Because I feel that if I practice this home exercises but still I have a late contact point, I will not be able to unload- push forward and explode my forehand power.
Parabéns 👏👏👏
Thanks for this video. Two headed backhand next ? :)
what do you think of the top spin pro ? Nice channel you're a very fine coach .
Kevin, you and I must be on the same frequency, man..... Just worked on the exact same thing with my 13yr old daughter, to better sync the shoulder and the hitting arm. Already spent about 2hrs on the fix, gonna need more for muscle memory to kick in but headed the right direction. Her issue was that, all though she used hips and shoulder for the FH, the right hip had way too much lag where basically, it was all arm.... hard to see and harder to admit (because otherwise she's got a great FH) but arm / hip were out of sync. Especially on the neutral stance where she'd load the right leg, then hit and rotate but keeping the right hip back. After fixing this issue, I no longer have to remind her to - "follow through dammit" because it's naturally happening. Additionally, very obvious benefit of the sync'd hip / shoulder is the FH consistency and better drive. She hits with a straight arm on the forward stroke, sometimes a bit bent at contact but mainly straight. Love your channel, man.....!
You are by far the best tennis teacher. No other explains the basics in such great detail.
Thats exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot.
GRACIAS
Great video!
Please could you make a video for a double backhand home exercise? On the backhand side this push forward moment is even more important due to shorter swing...
Where do u get the
Orange
And
Blue
Resistance accessories
Please let us know exactly what these
Pieces are
Thnks also for your continued passion in
Teaching tennis ..
can you not do the same exercise to load the backhand, especially two-hand backhand?
no.
Similar yeah
Muito bom
Nice video
Good video. Two things:
1.40 min. that's not the case: Most energy comes from down and up instead of down and forward. See the difference in height of Thiem's head at loading the back leg and after reloading (2.37).
7.20 min. In the clip the arm is moving simultaneously with the hip. That should not be the case. The hip rotation always comes first to achieve the whip effect.
Could you make a video like this but for improve the serve? Thanks
Gold
Could you make a video about how to play agresive tennis?
any rep/set recommendations?
Can you please recommend something similar for backhand? Thank you 😊
Look like you are using Head Radical, which also is my current racquet.
Just wonder what/how your string? Thanks
Hey Kev, this is the Big Easy from back in the day
RETURN SERVE👍
Footwork-teaching an old 🐶 new tricks.👍👍 hey your videos are better & moving up to the BEST💪🏾
Can u do a video for seniors still trying to SERVE & Volley on their 1st Serve😊
JL, Big Easy, Nashville
Great! But what about closed stance??
What is the name of the training gear in the video?
Where can we buy the tool to simulate the forehand ?
I wish there is a similar video for table tennis even though the concept can be modified and used.
n1 content
You're missing a very important component that is essential to "loading" --the front arm reaching across their body at shoulder height
Good ^^
Always stretch before a match! :O I had to play 3 long matches. The first match I played well, the second my legs began to hurt and sprain and then the third I couldn't even run but lost well.
The first and second I won but the third I lost 3-6 and 2-6. It was crazy. And Level 1 National, everyweek! Your bones might even hurt.
Min 8:25......very important. GREAT VIDEO.
Wow excellent instruction, stretch band strengthening, pointers on rotation how to put weight into swing with that trunk. Thank you for these great tips coach awesome!
jeeeeeesus christ... how did you make this an 11 min video?
I got the same training idea hhhh
1:22 "Stroring weight in this black leg" Well he was partially right
Admit.
I started doing it and the improment was huge, thanks boss!

Essential is a panzy.
I get anger obviously watching clowns.
This lesson is bogus. The kinetic chain is top down. The legs and hips do not initiate the forward swing. Instead, the rotation into the balls starts with the non dominant hand, then shoulders >> hips then finally, legs. If you follow the instruction in this video, you will be exhausting all of the stored energy prior to making contact with the ball. Basically flailing into the ball with your upper body moving backwards, away from the ball.
Agree, kinetic chain. Still alot of good tips in this video.
Noone knows bent or straight
Vould you speak a bit slower?
I won't stop tell you clown s play me.
I'm challenging you to a match clown. If I beat you giving you doubles Alley you quit tennis.
I'm so tired of pretenders taking from true pros that gave there souls to teaching. And you b players steal from tennis HQ and others
Do we do these reps slow like you demonstrated or game like fast when swinging through with the motion?
Just make sure you do core training..rotation training...flexibility and strength training...if you do not want to get injured...I adviced my club mates that you have to do extra conditioning, core and strength training and I even asked them to do it together with me..they just ok ok..but neve show up..then they get deltoid injuries...abs pulled...knee injury and one even broke the outer bone on the ankle..straight to the E.R...she was crying in pain..casted and out for months...
Is there a video with drills for this core flexibility and strength training you can recommend for tennis player?
Good for that ball...otherwise is a no-no
