The one about taking a long time to leave a restaurant and linger seems pretty true lol. I am a server/waiter at a restaurant and I remember like a month ago my table had Brazilian customers, and they stayed at their table even when the restaurant was closed. They did not leave until after the restaurant has been closed for 30 minutes.

We really get angry when we are talking after meal, and the waiter comes with the bill, from nothing.
For us, it is a sign of " get the fuck out of here ", " we don't want u here nevermore " , something like that..

When i went to Us with my family, the waiter came with the bill, and we didnt ask for it. My father thought that we did something wrong and that it was rude for the American culture. And because of it, they wanted us to leave the restaurant. But we were wrong, just a normal action.

I'm Brazilian and I do the exactly same thing with my friends, Karla. Ethnic jokes are funny, as long as they are made within close people. I always make fun of my friend's Arabic ascendence and they always make fun of my Portuguese ascendence, the same way that we make jokes about our black friends, Italian friends, jew friends and asian friends. And you know why this kind of joke doesn't affect us? Because we're reasonable and well settled people.

my Brazilian friend made me one tasty snack! it was toasted bread, with mayonnaise, sliced banana, and cinnamon on top. SUPER GOOD
kinda sounds like cartola, which is pretty popular here in my state but the mayo part is new lol we use queijo coalho, which kinda reminds me of ricotta cheese but saltier and with more moisture, and we use chocolate alongside the cinnamon.
