we miss you alot:(
bro this channel had so much potential
Watching your videos at Surf made me want to be an A&P, got my tickets in a year, worked on Gulfstreams for a while and just got my dream gig working heavy maintenance on Eurocopters and Bells. Thanks for making these videos, man. Changed my life
i wonder how you are. miss your content man!
We miss you, James.
I watched your videos before i started A&P school.
Now I have my license, and was hoping you might be back by now.
:/
I'm an A&P mechanic, so I've been enjoying these videos. I wish he made more!
@Dopha yes he is replying, he did to me yesterday and he said he might be posting again in a year or two.
@@harshyagnik5188 hope he can start posting soon, I've been watching his videos a lot recently, starting school this year to get my A&P , cant wait!
James is now an FO on 757 and 767🤯
@@azj9519 no wayyy, how do you know?
Where is he now?
For anyone curious, he's a F/O flying 757s and 767s for ATI now. Life just got busy I guess
Still alive and kicking. Life got busy for sure. Flying full time and doing aircraft maintenance on the side.
James Sullivan Glad to hear it. Your videos are what got me really into aviation, and I’m now well on my way to soloing as a result. Any tips on getting into the flying industry (building hours, etc)?
@@JamesSullivans Thank you for replying, glad to hear you are doing well.
James Sullivan it’s nice to hear that you are still around. Congrats on you new job and life. Would be nice if you posted just a 1 min video explaining why you don’t do CZcams anymore. Miss you and your vids. Have fun!
You got me interested in aviation maintenance at 16 years young. 2 years of school and then ill potentially get certified!
Post another video :)
Im an A/P Mechanic from philippines watching your vlog during pandemic looking forward for new vlog about A/P mechanic life. 😊
Hi! What does A/P means?

James, I really enjoy your maintenance videos and I hope you can keep posting them along with some sweet pilot footage. Congratulations on the new job and keep up the good work!
So glad to see you back! Thanks for taking us all into the next chapter of your amazingly interesting life.
Welcome back and congratulations on getting the job!! Awesome!! I look forward to every video; Thanks for making them!
Welcome back, I missed your videos and congratulations on your new job!
Congratulations are in order! I'm glad to hear that you're moving up (literally).
Congrats on the big promotion to be coming a first officer. Can't wait to watch the progress.
Welcome back. P-51 one of most awesome birds ever. Imagine 25+ at once with Spitfires Hellcats others plus the bombers overhead.
Congratulations on pilot gig. You will do great as you are a Winner.
As an Auto Tech, it's sad to see you leave maintenance (for the most part), but as a pilot with a maintenance history you will do great. Always great watching your vids. Keep up the good work and good luck with your classes!
These are really great news. You've shown us awesome footage about maintenance, and hopefully you'll become a great pilot. Wish you success ever. ;)
Congratulations James!! I loved maintenance videos, but I am sure coming videos will be great too.
I absolutely love your videos! I always loved airplanes growing up and wanted to fly for Southwest, but unfortunately I found out in high school I have a type of colorblindness. I've been working on cars for a few years now, but my love for aviation has never died, so I've decided I'm going to AIM to get my A&P. A buddy of mine went through the same school and now works on small planes. What sold me on the career was he said he gets to go on test flights. I've been a little hesitant on taking this on as a career, but I've been watching your videos and they have been very inspiring! I also plan on getting my private license at some point. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations James
Starting my first day of school studying to become a aircraft mechanic like you this September! Your videos are a true inspiration ! Please continue to make great content ! I've been watching all of your videos
Hi! Would you recommend becoming a A&P? How was your school experience and were the exams hard?
That is awesome James! Happy for you!
Congratulations and best of luck with your new flying career. Hope you find it as rewarding as maintenance has been..
Moving up to First Officer. Great. Hope to watch the continued progress
James, Congratulations with your first airline pilot job! I'm sure your Surf Air co-worker is going to really miss working with you at the hangar. I've enjoyed watching your maintenance video's.Your good at making them. I was a PFE on a B-727 flying around the world for six years and have a lot of good memories from that experience. I'm sure your flying career will do the same for you as well. I look forward to seeing your next video so you can update us all on how things are going with the new job.
Congrats James, have been enjoying your Pilatus PC12 engineering videos... sure you'll do equally superbly in the Co-pilot seat, great move... Also good you plan to keep your hands 'dirty' on the technical side, all the best to you and your flying adventures! Have shared your channel with friends who share a mutual aviation interest, all the best from across the pond! (UK)
Thanks for the support and kind words!
Love the videos man keep at it with the good content
Hey James, just finishing up school now after watching your videos 2 and a half years ago! Thanks for the inspiration! Working for envoy airlines out of Abilene, Tx!

Sadly i just found out this channel and he haven’t upload a new video anymore!😭 If you read this please continue to make video. You inspired me a lot! Thank you.
For anyone wondering he will post more in a bit I think.
congrats on your new job
Just catching up with these videos and note that you are now with Compass Aviation, everything is always in transit with aviation and that is no surprise,I really hope that you continue to make these videos and think it is good for the companies too to show what they are doing and have people like yourself with the necessary editing skills to make them.
Why you stopped making videos? :(
James,
Best of luck at your new FO job! Big step. Hope you can bring us along as you progress.
Ethan
What's new, dude! I just binge-watched your whole channel in about 2 days. I can't get enough! Can't wait for your next video on airplanes. I imagine you're several months into being a pilot for Encompass. You should make a deal with them to allow you to record in the cockpit.
+Austin Gunn thanks man! I really need to get back on it 👍
Very well done 😀👍
Well done!
Love the vids bro, keep it up! I am studying to become an aircraft mechanic right now, im on my second year of three.
James, we really miss your videos. You are in training and a VLOG about it would be great even with no footage. You have hooked the audience in and we care about the storyline. Also I live on the Front Range, so if you want to organize a meet-up that would be great. Best to you in your training and transition.
Congratulations!
Thanks Brian'!
Congratulations on chasing that dream of flying. It would be cool if you ever post another video, because l assume your life has changed a lot in the last four years 😂 it would be such a cool comparison. I’ve been watching your videos lately as l’m heading to school for Aircraft Maintenance. They are awesome. All the best man
Thanks Sarah! Awesome you're headed to maintenance school too, wish you the best. I might have an update coming down the line at some point here soon
I love your videos its Inspiring
Take care of yourself James.!
Just found the channel and love your videos! Hope you post again soon!
Good luck.
I don’t think u know how good your edits are
Thanks!
Hey James, great video! welcome to my state. I also just started getting into making youtube videos. Its harder then it looks. But you definitely make it look easy.
I was wondering why you weren't posting videos like before. I figured it was either because something bad happened or something good... glad to hear it was because of good reasons. I start a&p school in august and I'm 10 hours into my ppl. Best of luck to you and thanks for the update.
Awesome! I'm happy for you
How was A&P school, Was it worth it? I’m thinking of going myself.
welcome back! I believe that was a T-51 because it was the two seat trainer version? Super rare and either way super cool!
edit; TRF-51
James! Im becoming an A and P mechanic, i watched a bunch of your videos which helped give me the idea to become one. Would love to see some videos of your experience flying.
Hope you come back soon, started watching when I started my apprenticeship in the uk but you’d finished uploading at that point hope you start again soon :)
Just as you seemed like you were getting some YT traction, was loving the engineering content and video style. :(
Hey James im currently a student at Aviation Institute of maintenance in Dallas, TX.Your videos are truly inspiring and I would love to see an update. Keep up the good work man props!
How was your experience there? I live close by and thought about AIM or Texas state technical college program they have
@@nickk5245 do not go to AIM... it’s 40k and none of the shit works. 30 students a class, teachers can’t actually spend time to show you correct methods just pass you to get you through. If I keep going on we would be here all night.
Tcc is 15k I think, and great program. Join a waitlist...
LeTourneau college of aviation in Longview TX, you come out the program with a bachelors/ A&P degree, 15 students a class room and all airplanes/ engines work. I took my O&P in Longview and mannnnn was I impressed by that school. Have to be accepted to get in so not every joe blow is at the school. Only people taking it seriously.
@@hellmann93 I’ll look into the Longview school, are you still going on the path of being a A&P? What would a starting salary be for someone around us?
Wow. Congrats. Really glad you are back. I thought I might have to drive up to LA and take you to lunch at the Shawarma Factory to find out what happened.
good luck on your new career. i guess there will be some nice denver drone shots.
I'll still be flying in California, I was just in Denver for pc12 maintenance training 😉
Hey man I just want to say that you’re videos are super awesome actually you’re the only airplane mechanics that shows your normal work day looks like . I hope you’re ok , we need you man .!
I'm waiting for you to upload more maintenance videos on aircraft. ☺️
You still making videos my dude ? :(
Jolinator I’ve been waiting also. I wonder if he can still film at his new job.
Ground School?! Dood! Yah! Have fun, flying is hand's down the best.
Hey! Another video finally! Love your vids man. I just started flying PC12's also, been in and out of HHR pretty often too. We've gotta meet up sometime if you still gonna be around HHR!
Yeah I'll be based out of HHR. Who are you flying for?
James Sullivan Steelman Aviation. We're contracting with SA doing all there Vegas flights for a little while.
Yeah I've seen you guys flying out of HHR. Cool paint job! 👍
James Sullivan Cool man. Looks like we're gonna be coming in every wed, fri, and sun for the next couple months. I'll probably be on most of those flights.
Missing the link to David's channel btw .... congrats on the new job!
I'm going to spartan for my a&p right across the street from rocky mountain airport! Trying to get an entry level job at Pilatus there now.
Encore! Encore! Come back man!

I'm starting in August too, good luck.
Angel Killa You too!
Good luck man!
Hey I’m also from Nashville Tennessee James, I’m a freshman at mtsu in their aerospace maintenance management program. I wanna graduate and vlog days at my job like you some day
hey James i am going to study aircraft engineering soon and i would be glad if you gave me some tips, love you're videos thx :)
Yeah man don't forget your CZcams fans
I was planning on going back to school for aircraft maintenance but you`re really making me think twice about it now that Surf Air outsourced. I just don`t know how stable of a job it will be and at my age, 47, but I`ll be around 50 after graduation, I don`t know if I could handle an over night shift with an MRO at first.
I appreciate what you do . And I need to know what the different between aircraft maintenance engineering and aircraft Mechanic??
WOOT!!
Somehow I missed this post, I've been really slammed here too. So stoked for your Ground School... you better REALLY Study up on those "Systems", it'd be terribly embarrassing to botch that. lol. Actually, you could probably score some meals and maybe another stripper for tutoring others in the systems component. (My favorite part of Advanced Flight Training - "Hum, what's THIS switch do?? .... oh awesome, music! But why is it all horns, must be the Brass Section)
Anyway - really happy for your advancement but don't get too rusty on the Maintenance side, I'm still planning on asking you to do the "Pre-purchase Inspection" for my PC-12 NG when I finally top off the $3.8 Million in my cookie jar.
Best of Continued Success!
Thanks Marc! Groundshool went well and I'm enroute to Dallas right now for four days in the flight simulator. Should be flying the line by the first week of August. I'll let you know if I have a sit in Carlsbad or Montgomery. Keeping the maintenance skills sharp by continuing to work on the cubs part time. Also looking into setting up an LLC to do freelance maintenance.
So stoked for you! Sim should be fun and challenging but I'm certain you'll place high in your class/group. Do you do all that from the right, or left seat or trade off?
Certainly let me know if you make it down this way and when you actually get your shoulder boards, I'll have to start thinking of something to top my last little gift to get you.
Remember, flight training isn't difficult, you've got "Auto" pilot, just don't panic - lol

Hi James, I don’t know if you will end up reading this but last year I made the decision to start getting a higher education and after watching your videos and talking to some friends I ended up going to school for my A&P right now I’m 7 Months into the 2 and a half year course learning about Airframe and I love it since I can nerd out about all the different parts. Thank you so much for inspiring me to look deeper into the career and decide to make the decision. My favorite part about your videos is your editing and I love your toolbox it has a beautiful paint job and looks like a great size with a nice workspace on top. Do you have any tips you would give someone like me about life after school or what to do in school to get a head start towards building my career? I would love to work in the hanger like you do.
