- Please note that this is a very short overview of the 2392 course. If you have any questions to go over things further then please message me either here or @sparky_ninja and I will do my best to get back to you.
Please also remember to listen to your assessor over anything mentioned here, as it is them you have to please at the end of the day 🙌

EDIT - There is a typo at 54 minutes where it says the disconnection time is 0.4 seconds, it should be 0.04 seconds (so 40 milliseconds, not 400) - thanks to @Energy_Decision for the heads up.
Annotations have been disabled on CZcams so I'll have to look into editing this video some other way.
This video has become essential to my study for the 2392 exam. It's broken down in perfect detail and explains things much better than my actual coursework does!
This video and the mock exam video are SO helpful, can't thank you enough for these!
Fantastic video and very informative. Look forward to more covering Test and Inspection!😊
Great video! Really useful. Its helped to verify some answers I've been struggling with on some mock exams! Thank you!
The best explanation video on this topic by far this is much appreciated thank you
I really enjoy watching your videos, they helped me a lot. Many thanks 😊
Great Video, looking to get onto the inspection and testing course shortly!
thanks for this video mate, I really appreciate it.
I’ve just started on electrics so these are so useful. Many thanks.
Pure genesis; Thank very noble.
Thank you very much for your useful information
Amazing video, Thank you!
Great video.thank you.
This is absolutely fab 👍
very good and very helpfull, thank you very much for your job very well explained.
Wish I had seen this before doing my test, I just did my training with Napit and it was no where as good as this overview. Thank you. You really should consider doing online courses in your membership area.
thank you for the video, it is really helpful,
Thank you Dear for this information
Love your videos pal. Would you consider a video on the 2396 Design & Verification? Cheers....👍
Thank you so much for your job. Great video as always and massive help for precourse preparation. just want to point to slight mistake on the slide about RCD testing: in 5 times test RCD should trip within 40ms or 0.04s, not 0.4 s (40 ms = 40s/1000 = 0.04s). Cheers
Excellent
i am student of 2365 this is very informative video for me thanks for sharing usefull information
Hi
How long exam of city and guilds
Thanks
Life saver.
Awesome this helped thanks
Hi Sparky great video
Can you recommend a good book (testing and inspection) with all the details you been saying on these videos, please
Thanks
Hi, the ring final figure of 8 test is such a mind f### until you understand it,
the way I see it is that basically when you've cross connected at the C.U. and start measuring at the sockets your really just measuring a parallel path,
as one path decreases the other path increases by the exact same amount but always equalling out. like you and a mate standing across from eachother on a big circle!
you at 12 o'clock him at 6 o'clock,
walking round the big circle you move to 9 and he will be at 3 but always equidistant from eachother!
enjoyable video.
right I'm going to have a lay down now.
best regards Warren
Great videos 👍🏼, just a question, is there a way to notify small jobs like adding sockets or replacing consumer units, without registering with NiC or Napit ?
Brilliant video ninja. Keep up the good work on delivering educational information for us young sparks.
What tester would you recommend to buy for long term
Use please?

Hi there, I would probably recommend the Megger 1711. If your budget is smaller then let me know and I'll tell you what I would get with the budget you have. 👍

Thanks
Let me know
Can you do the new 2391-52 video's please? Thanks in advance
Your are extremely good at explaining, you should be a teacher and teacher only! ;)
Hello mate. Thanks for your reply!
If I were to get the Mft 1731, would that be a bad move, knowing that the 18th editions are just around the corner?!
Ta
Not at all - 18th edition has no impact on instrumentation.
Does the inspection and testing have a 2 hour written exam?
Dead test/ Live Test - Sequence of test
I wonder has anyone seen John Ward's videos on testing? He never mentioned SELV etc. What's your take on the test list comparison?
It's as detailed is it needs to be.
If SELV is present as a system (not just a transformer 30cm away from a luminaire) then there are segregation requirements between Band II circuits, PELV circuits and Earth.
Can you make a short vidio on the one test most sparkys do not understand,That is the test an niceic inspector will expect you to know. That is the test you need to prove NOT Assune that a bathroom is safe ie, The touch voltage test. Many Thanks
Sure 👍
I just did this exam with Ableskills BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU USE ABLE SKILLS the preparation and exam are horrendous. AND I PASED IT! I asked for permission to switch off and then told “you didnt ask youve just failed” i walked away thinking “i failed” and then realised “but i asked?” So challenged the assesor, i was then told, oh yes you did didnt you. I was allowed to continue but it took me 15 minutes to regain my composure. I started making errors, and when i had finished assesor said I had only just managed to get through it as lots of minor errors. Whose fault was that then? there you tube videos do not have comments disabled for no reason. This was last week of 4 weeks training several others quit before 4th week as couldnt handle the stress.
@@simontredwell991 I did the 2391 with them at Dartford about ten years ago. I can't remember the tutor's name but he was a complete tool! Similar thing happened to me, I smashed the theory and assumed I would be the same in the practical as I had been testing on the tools for 7or 8 years. The tutor did everything he could to make me feel uncomfortable and I ended up having to do a retake...His excuse was I didn't prove my voltage testers against a live circuit after I had isolated the circuit! Silly mistake I know but everything else was by the book!
It felt like he just wanted to bring me down a peg or two.
Are you allowed to carry out domestic eicr if youve been successfull?
No, the 2392 is all about verification - so testing new systems. It doesn't include anything about coding observations and testing existing systems etc.
@@SparkyNinja thanks for the answer.so you must hold 2391 or to be registered with napit etc or nvq level 3or I don't know what else in order to carry out eicr?? Never was clear to me.
I wonder?
Why do we have 2392 inspection and testing qualification when we have the more popular one 2391-50?
Which one is which? and what are the recognitions of them in the industry?
If you have a qualification of 2392 ,will the industry recognise you as an inspector for testing of electrical installation in dwelling? in commercial? or industrial?
Is it only for making money by offering two different versions?
Thanks
It was introduced to provide training for domestic installers signing off their electrical installation alongside Part P. Hence its limited to initial verification and domestic installations.
@@SparkyNinja
Many thanks for your reply.
So anyone has 2392 will be able to issue a domestic installation Certificate for minor jobs and new installation?
Thanks
is it true that these exams are all open book now?
good question
Some are open book like the Building Regs and Part P and the BS7671:2018 - this I&T course is still closed book.
43:04 never have the RCD on... bypass the RCD as the insulation test will possibility damage the electronic components inside.
the volume is way too low!!!
I can't edit it dude, sorry.
Too difficult to put in words. Needs pictures.
"math" lmao
