- Steve Hodge was an integral part of the Nottingham Forest side of the 1980’s and 1990’s. He won League Cups, went to World Cup Finals & FA Cup Finals. This is the story of his first spell at Forest (the second spell is covered in Part Two!). He’s now a popular and respected summariser on BBC Radio Nottingham, where I worked with him for around 6 seasons. I loved every minute!

Loved the reference to Hans Van Breukelen. What a man. He came to give out medals at an awards ceremony one Saturday night after we played Arsenal. Didn't ask for any reward, just turned up with his wife and was so so friendly. As Hodgy says - vastly underrated in Nottingham.
Love hearing Hodge celebrate every time Forest score on the radio.

This was fantastic. It’s always a pleasure to hear Steve, but here he seems especially open and articulate. I’ve heard him speak before about Anderlecht but I think you’re right, Chippers, it’s not talked about enough. I did not know Steve had written to the Head of the FA to draw comparison between doping in athletics and bribery in football. What a legend.
Fantastic....one of the best pundits around. Had the Forest Board been able to back Clough better, Forest would've been even more successful.

Steve was my idol growing up. His goals against Celtic and Anderlecht were highlights of a great Forest career. Fantastic to hear him talk about his Forest days!

I always admired Steve as a kid , thought he was a fantastic player with a great left foot and was great at late runs into the box . From a Scotsman.

I remember the Anderlecht game well, outrageous that they were never really punished. A sad example of lack of UEFA integrity and leadership.

I remember those days like they were yesterday - Hans Van Breukelen - great keeper - Dutch international - total class, but still not as good as Shilton between 77-80
