There is a simple saying that is ‘ we live on in our children” I think this is a perfect example of that, bless you Rosin and may your God watch over you.
What a beautiful comment. I was just thinking her mum is still here within her daughter as I listened and watched. Indeed that saying is so true in this instance. 🙏🏼👍❤️
Roisin is as brave as Sinead! And that’s the highest compliment I can give anyone. It’s hard to sing in front of others, but to do it in Carnegie Hall, as a tribute to your mother, who was a world class singer, had to be frightening. And I’m sure Roisin was nervous. But she did it anyway. That’s real bravery. Like a Lion. Like Sinead. And she was up to the task too. Beautiful singing. Roisin, if you see this…please consider recording the last few songs of the record your mom was working on and releasing it. It would be a treasure to have new music from you and your mom.
First thing I noticed! And when she got to the part about - all the flowers that you planted mama….. I’m pretty sure that choked her up, and it definitely did me 💔💔💔💔
Rosin the heartache of growing up a daughter of a mum with mental health issues is like living with grief all your life until the day she’s lost forever o know this pain those words suddenly become so powerful to you as her daughter it’s so hard to seperate the woman and the disease but the battle they fight is real and our love remains ❤
@sueyearbury6215 what are you talking about, referring to her mother as having a mental health disease?disease? her mother had complex post traumatic stress, caused by her own mother throughout childhood, cause and effect Not a mental illness not a disease! try educating yourself about trauma impact and how c-ptsd was not even recognised by the NHS until 2018, therefore no effective treatment for those left with unhealed severe childhood trauma symptoms....your ignorance is loud
When she sings 🎵 all the flowers that you planted, mama, all died when you went away 🎵 I think the meaning is totally different than when sinead sang it! Breaking generational trauma.
I remember Sinead saying that the.part where, All the flowers that you planted moma all died when you went away, reminds her of her mum everytime she sang it ❤😢
I always loved her mother's voice. It would be so hard to sing a song that you know your mother was well known for but for me she did her mum proud and her voice is just as beautiful
Brave and beautiful singing. Well done Róisín. This is more of what the world needs. May your gorgeous mother Sinéad fly high with the heavenly angels. I think of her every time I pass Deansgrange cemetery. Beautiful, intelligent, inspiring woman.
Gorgeous. This is the famous Róisín who in her earliest years inspired her father, John Waters, to write so passionately (and with immense justice on his side) about the absence of fathers' rights to parent their children all those years ago in The Irish Times. What a lone voice he was then, and how little has changed for Irish fathers since. How the years fly.
Incredibly difficult to voice the words that made dear Sinead a household name.Beautifully done, I will miss this cherished lady greatly...All the flowers in the backyard...Nothing compares...What else to say ???
Thank you beautiful Roisin ❤!!! What a tribute to your amazing mother! I dont know why I miss her so much but just shows what affect she had on people. The truth telling prophet Sibead O'Connor. I for one am so sorry.
That was gutsy to perform that song. I have every note, every in-fluctuation of Sinead’s voice singing it, memorized. It is an iconic song, that meant a great deal to me many, many years ago. I have sang it right a long with her Mama’s CD, as a vocalist myself, I memorized every vocal inflection. This is a different version but your voice is very similar to your Mamas. She would be oh so proud of you singing her precious song. Thank you for sharing.
😢😢😢 ❤❤❤ im 59 and i have a cassette of sinead. I used to play it and share it with people who hadnt heard of her. ❤ i cant beleive im just now learning she had a daughter. You did beautiful young lady. I felt your mom come through in this performance. ❤❤❤ i still have that cassette. 😊
I loved this song when I first heard it when Sinead released it now today seeing Sinead’s daughter paying tribute to the beautiful soul her mother was as has me sitting on the couch crying like a baby at 63 years old,God bless you Roisin
Well done. She definitely inherited some of her mother’s unique vocal prowess and power. Moving and quite appropriate. Sinead would have shined in a venue like Carnegie Hall, performing both her spare, acoustic classics as well as her sweeping orchestral melodies. The voice would have stunned in that setting.
Roisin took my breath away, the same as her beautiful & beloved Momma did, when I fist heard this hauntingly beautiful song that just swept up your soul, in the emotion that Sinead so gently, beautifully, & poignantly conveyed! Her raw, meaningful, sincere, & deep felt emotion was visceral, & I was swept away in the sorrow of her beautiful voice & the weeping of the instruments! From the first day, I heard it, I ran to the record store and bought Sinead O'Connor's beautiful album, and I listened to it, endlessly, especially that song! It was the Summer of 1990, in the Americas, and I was headed to Dublin, to study for the summer, at University College, Dublin, and I had wished that I would run into Sinead O'Connor! I stayed with, Joan & Tony Waters, no kidding, & they were so proud to call Sinead their own, & they were in their mid to late 60s, but they knew the song, well, and dear Joan said her name, in Gaelic, was Sinead, and she was so proud of that! It was just so amazing to be walking around the streets of Dublin, thinking this is where Sinead Iives! I adored her, & I was devastated over her years of suffering, the tragic loss of her dear son, Shane, & her untimely & tragic passing! Ireland has become my second home, & The Waters will forever be my Irish family, but it will never be the same without the beautiful Sinead O'Connor, nor will this world ever be the same, but her beautiful daughter will certainly help Sinead live on through her beautiful voice, and this was an astoundingly glorious tribute to her Mum, & I'm sure she must be smiling down from heaven! Love & blessings 2 you, dear Roisin & your entire family! 🌟🥰☘️🍀💛🎁✨🕊️💫💖🙏🦋
The very first time I watched Sinead sing this on television in the UK I just cried all the way thru. This is so beautiful, Thank you for this ... And a Happy Friday Sinead ❤ Still Shining Bright 🌟
This is so beautiful ❤. This song was given to Sinead O'Connor by God. She's there in this song and her spirit is right there. Right there with her daughter.
Well done! Thank you for singing this song with the same emotional energy it deserves. Before I heard you sing, only your mama has ever made me tear up as I try to sing along. Sinéad was a beacon of light for me since my troubled teen years. Miss her every day.💗
😢..you made me cry Roisin..your voice is powerful and beautiful..I thought of your mother and my dad who are gone ..and the song , your interprétation makes me cry..some sentences in this song ..Just the title is so true... when we lose someone we loved so much and we miss a lot..
You are incredible and I couldn't wait to hear you. Sing one of your mom's songs. I hope you finished that album. There was a moment in the beginning that if I closed my eyes I would have thought for sure. It was your mom. Stellar performance can't wait to see more! Thank you
Wow. I can’t imagine .i, as a child had a recurring nightmare where my mum went missing and I couldn’t find her, this song always played in the dream while I was standing alone in the bathroom. I always work up crying and went looking for my mum. She was always there and she’s still here in this world .when this song played on the radio I always screamed to turn it off. Since sinead died ve been able to listen to it again and really appreciate it but I feel for her daughter. Sorry for your loss

Barefoot like her Momma! Beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for this.
🎉❤same!🎉❤

Roisin moves like her mother ❤️❤️ Such a poignant tribute
she so does and the bare feet, too 🥰
She looks a lot like her mother too.
That was my first thought. ❤
So true.. the exact same as her. Mam
So similar in almost every way…but she doesn’t have Sinead’s pure singing voice.
So, so beautiful. She carries on her momma’s spirit and legacy ❤
No she doesn't. Your just hoping she can. This is out of tune, flat as a pancake.
Your mother was and still is such a powerful presence here on earth. Watching you sing to her makes me cry. Beautiful.
Me too 😢
Nothing compares to the moving tribute of a daughter's love for a truly extraordinary mother.
Sinead loved her children so much. Roisin mom was smiling above and so proud. Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you dear Roisin. That was SO beautiful and tender and powerful. May all angels hold you and your sibs in close embrace.

Pffffffft
Sinead found her peace her state of mind is who she was she wouldn't have changed a single thing

Touching. A beautiful tribute to her sweet strong Mum.
The second half of the song. I got the chills. I can hear her mom. Her mom is smiling down at her right now.
indeed
Are you trolling? it was awful. Her mum would tell her the truth and not get all over emotional about it.
When she sings 🎵 all the flowers that you planted, mama, all died when you went away 🎵 I think the meaning is totally different than when sinead sang it! Breaking generational trauma.

I think she was courageous etc but she can’t sing, which doesn’t matter, it’s still a lovely tribute
Wow, talent runs in the family. So beautiful. Your mom was one of my all time favorites....RIP Sinead.
