those media barely have any coverage when the team goes on 16W streak, yet when Giannis does some silly self rebound they make a whole segment about it
FR
"headline", "front-pages" and "bite-size snippets" are the problem in all types of media coverage - from sports to politics to everything...
...we should be better, but it doesn't seem that we are sufficiently better to get better media?
The sad thing about that is, Gianni’s isn’t the star they championed… let lebron lakers, Steph warriors or kd suns win 16 straight… that will have the media in a frenzy
Giannis runs and dunks..analyst dont have much to say
@@xavierb9061 he runs, dunks, grabs boards, defends like a DPOY, and is leading his team to the best record in the league. Quite a bit to talk about tbh
Its like Milwaukee has the most humble team in the NBA
@@davidarrington4144 you're clearly trolling. Giannis is by far one of the most humble players in the league. He doesn't let the fame get to his head like so many others. It's because he's not American.
Not joking but Brook Lopez doesn't get enough respect man is a great teammate too
@@Alran109agreed European superstars be super humble
Luka and Giannis would be insane
@@arodyankeesify facts and people tend to also forget he was the best player on his own team before the bucks 🤷🏽♂️
One thing I love about Giannis is how little he cares about being a big time celebrity. Obviously, being such a phenomenal player with such huge charisma, he's very marketable and he's cashing in as he should. But he said it already, once my career is done I'm probably going back to Greece and you wont see much more from me. He's building his legacy on the court and cementing his family's future, and that's about it. No huge ego, pretty nonchalant guy, seems very genuine. Guys like Jokic or Luka are the same.
It’s because they’re not American. Americans have the biggest egos
Do you actually believe what your saying, the same guy who got asked if anybody would beat him 1v1 in basketball and answered that there is only 1v5 for him, the same guy who is in the center of attention at every all star game, the same guy who shoots a 3 to get 50 points with 1 minute left up 15+. He is very likable but this agenda that he is the most humble in the league is kinda weird
@@bruhmento1061 "this agenda" 😂😂😂
@@bruhmento1061 lebron is literally your profile picture. Go sit down
I thought this until I saw that bs rebound the other day to get a trip dub. That was so bush league.
I believe one of the most under-appreciated strengths of the Bucks is how the team wastes ZERO energy on drama and internal conflict. People like Bobby is what makes us the best TEAM - period!
Antonara mou milas me alitheies 🫱🏻🫲🏼
And one of the oldest team in the league and the first seed in the East we just don’t care about seeds we cared about habitat and staying healthy end of the day
Great point I hadn't thought about, but knew..you know what I mean? Good point for sure
@@frankie1925 we?😭
@@anthonyruiz2111 lol my bad the bucks don’t cared I’m meant we we💀😂😂🤦🏽
I remember seeing a snippet of Giannis saying that he massively admires Tim Duncan. Another comment on here spoke of how Bucks' culture rn is similar to the Spurs of the 2000s and early 2010s. Mike Bud is also a Coach Pop protege. The Spurs really spawned a revolution.
Why do you think kawhi Leonard is so good ? Spurs lost to the heat in a series they should've won, came back the next year and mopped the floor with those suckaz.
Milwaukee is so deep and Giannis is one of few stars who isn’t afraid to do the dirty work to get a win. So many players on the Bucks who I’d love to see get a ring, or another ring. Dragic, Carter, Middleton, Crowder, Portis, Ingles all coming off the bench? Crazy
Along with Wesley Matthews, Myles Leonard, Marjon Beauchamp, and A.J. Green coming off the bench as well.
To be fair, all of those guys are bench guys (not starters) at this point in their career lol. Respect to them tho
@@jbivs9072 not really, Dragic (former all star), Carter(bench), Middleton(all star), Crowder(starter and been to multiple finals), Portis (really solid player off the bench and can be a starter on tier 2 teams), and ingles was a solid starter in Utah
@@bangf1sh I think you missed the “at this point in their careers” part. Bobby Portis is the only maybe but he’s not a good defender and bigs that aren’t stars and don’t defend have a hard time staying on the floor in the NBA.
dirty work ? You mean injure other players to their way to a ring
The reason I love the Bucks now is because they are just like the past Spurs teams where there is no BS drama and they just play the game and as a team. The media also isn’t covering there success despite the win streak but that’s why it’s like past Spurs teams since no one really covered them either despite the success
Yes! Huge Spurs fan here. Both teams are humble and outstanding.
And they have an extremely likable superstar PF like TD
Beat me to it. They are just like the Spurs. They will win championships while the media just covers NY and LA
Ehhh the spurs had drama tony Parker was a menace
It’s cause they’re in a small market
The bucks are fr Milwaukee personified. Hard working, with grit, always feel overlooked but a great city.
True dat. Personified in the story of him needing to get to a game his rookie season. Didn't have enough cab fare and started running to the Bradley Center. A local couple saw him and asked if he was the Bucks rookie and needed a ride. They got him to the church on time, so to speak.
czcams.com/video/tvCAn-IPi_0/video.html
To me it’s insane how little Giannis is mentioned in MVP conversations in the media.
I don't have an issue with Jokic winning the last two MVPs, but there is no way Giannis should have been third behind Embiid.
I understand and agree w you but if they gave mvps to the best player in the league every time Bron Mike Kareem Magic Shaq Bird Kobe would’ve been the only holders of the mvp in the last 50 years
@@noahmedrano222 No, Lebron ceased being the best player about the same time he left Cleveland the second time.
How little ? please stop bro he always in the mix of mvp convo
@@dontdie4him He finished 4th the year he won a title. He should have been top 3, probably top 2.
The media, which makes up most of the voters, just have this weird thing with Giannis fatigue. Like because he's not making highlight reel plays all the time he doesn't seem to get the same respect.
Joker is a worthy MVP to be clear. It's just Giannis has again been 3 to 4 most of the season, while clearly he should be 2 and there should be a gap before we get to Embiid. But it's life.

Best thing I hear from this is Gannis hasn't lost who he is or where he came from and that's carried over through the whole team.
6:33 His Giannis impression was spot on lol
Great to hear Portis speak, and everything he was saying sounded pretty grounded and positive. Sounds like the teams in a good head space, and I am stoked to have picked the bucks as my team back in 2020, when i actually started paying abit more attention to the NBA.
Bobby "😳" Portis!!! 🔥🔥🔥
lol, well played
👁️👃🏿👁️
To do everything Giannis did... PLUS in a moment that BIG! That's what makes it so amazing.
I don't think I've ever seen Giannis make that play before, but when he did... it was a game clinching play in a series shifting game in the finals.
Then factor in he was actually still hurt and every second he was on the court was at full risk of blowing his knee out entirely because there was NOTHING preventing the hyperextension from happening again because he tore a protective piece of Cartledge that prevents hyperextension... like, just a freak.
Dude messes up his hand before the all star break - here is out playing game one out the break. Right now Bucks are being cautious and giving him rest, but he's ready to go if it was playoffs.
Guy is just a freak of nature. His instincts are something people don't give enough credit to. That block he made in that moment - yes it requires insane athleticism - but also instinct. You have to perfectly anticipate that.
Every time I hear this argument of how GIannis has no skill - I don't know what people are talking about. His knowledge of the game, his court vision, his dribbling skills at his size. The body control he flashes every game to try and avoid contact getting to the rim, his defensive awareness, his foot work to literally be able to cover all 5 positions on the court.
Like a massive reason the Bucks can run two bigs is because as a big, Giannis can literally cover a point guard.
Guy has all the skill there is. He may not be doing between the leg hesi step back jumpers, and? Still dropping 30, 12, and 6 while making clutch plays in clutch moments in the biggest games. We just saw Steph Curry, another great, make all these late game clutch 3's to help beat the Bucks - GIannis didn't even play. Is there a doubt that game is over if Giannis played by anyone? Bucks are so deep, that when you throw Giannis in the mix it's just... they look unstoppable. Unbeatable. If they have a full squad... watch out.
I wonder if ESPN realizes that they're a big reason why more fans are rooting for smaller markets nowadays. The more they cover the Lakers and Warriors and Nets (at the time), the more we want to see them lose to prove them wrong. The Sixers, Bucks, and Nuggets are title contenders and never get talked about by anyone but TNT
they do realize i just dont think people realize ESPN doesnt care about what anyone thinks.. they are full of themselves and always will be.. in 15 yrs it wont even be a thing..
They talk about the Lakers & Warriors because people tune in to see the Lakers & Warriors. It's a very simple business that they are running. The people tell them what they want to watch & hear about and that's what they show & talk about. The 26K people that watched this video pale in comparison to how many folks will turn into love or hate LeBron & the Warriors.
@bigwilly43729 true unfortunately
@@bigwilly43729 Some of that is self fulfilling. Cover the players like Lebron, KD, and such are the only players that matter and a lot of the casual public believes it.
Also ESPN has a LOT of minutes to fill. They could do some actual coverage with some of it.
Love it Bobby, if La or any other team was on a 16 game win streak it would be all over the place. Bobby fits into the blue collar attitude of the team. Love this bucks team. Let’s get that chip again!
This reminds me of certain power forward on the spurs twenty years ago....
Dennis Rodman was 🔥
Giannis block of Ayton was much better than James block of Igudala. A chase down block versus Giannis guarding booker, who passed to Ayton, switching to Ayton, and then meeting him head on for the block. Most players in the league after Book passes wouldn't have even tried to contest the dunk much less blocked it.
i would pick hakeem on starks as number 1 but i agree on your assenssment
I would pick hakeem on starks as number 1 but i totally agree with your assessment

Just keep playing with the energy and enjoyment that you do Bobby and everything else will fall in place.
I just can't get over how chill and different Bobby looks off the court vs the intense character he is on the court. I enjoy rooting for him unless he's playing my Raptors.
I think he just has competitive fire. He's super humble and just a nice guy, but when the whistle blows it's go time and he knows how to turn it on. THat's why all of wisconsin love the dude. He brings massive competitive fire and is such a great member of the community. It really fits with the whole culture. Bucks have a bunch of really competitive guys on the court, but off the court they are gentle and kind.
Go Bucks! Love the Bucks! Such a great team, great players.
Humble men!
Great interview. With their 16 game win streak, you can tell this team has the right mentality and culture as their tailwind. I would not be surprised if they won the championship again this year
good for Bobby appreciating the moment and the situation he's in. God bless you, Mr. Portis
Good, Wholesome Energy. No distractions
The Giannis block was harder because he had to change direction and block the center on a dunk, and I think he blocks it even if Book throws a better lob, he got into perfect position. LeBron's is still incredibly impressive because of how far and fast he was AND basically had to jump over his own teammate.
That play was nearly impossible
Like only other person who could make that play was Hakeem
Lebron's was more important. Giannis' was more difficult.
He met him at the apex while jumping later than the C did.
There is a reason people refer to it as such an impossible play. Because it truly is.
@@jordanjenkins1671 Probably.
@@NintyPrime Part of that is because it was a bad pass and he had to go backwards to get it, that's why I'm saying he even would have stopped it on a more accurate lob too. Certainly impressive and few athletes ever could do it.
Wow you can SEE how kind this guy is
Great interview! JJ is not biased, I really enjoyed it! 😊👍🏾👍🏾🏀
“Because me & Brook can shoot 3s” 😊
Giannis' block was insane. All credit to Bron for making the big play in a big moment but it was a chasedown block. They're super fun, look cool, sound cool, get people amped but there are a million athletic jumpers out there who've done it, myself included. Whereas I would have to hack into the matrix to even think of doing what Giannis did 😂
JJ is such a great analyst and interviewer. He needs his own show on ESPN where he can give a fresh and different perspective
Idk if he’d do a full time show when he has the podcast plus all the appearances.
Yeah, I'd bet on ESPN ruining it somehow, he's better off on his own.
I remember when he hyper extended that knee mg!! He really was out there the next game balling like an alien lol 🔥
Always on point
So happy for bobby portis man! After struggling to find a home in new York, chicago, and Washington now he has found a team that embraced him and allowed him to chase for a championship. Therefore, the result was he won a ring and he has the opportunity to chase for a ring every year.
Bobby is the best. Love this dude
Wow. I never really thought of it. But youre right. Never heard any drama about Bucks. Must be great to play with the Greek Freak
Giannis is the best pick and roll defender by points per poss when he’s guarding the ball handler AND when he’s guarding the roll man
And that block perfectly sums up that stat
A true team effort with Ante being real
Hope Middleton is healthy by the playoffs and the bucks can win the chip again
One thing that really stands out about this is how much knowledge bobby portis has he’s a underground sivant
Lots of similarities between Bucks and Nuggets. Small er media markets, European franchise player under contract for several more years, and a feeling they gonna stay for most of their careers, continuity with a core whos been together for a while, and drama free locker rooms.
I am european, but with absolutely no connection to the Balkans or Greece, but these kind of situations are so much easier for me to root for than franchises with continuing drama and big media story lines.
I’m a Denver fan, man’s funny af and hella genuine good guy
The difficulty of that block on ayton and his time reaction. There was not much time to think he had to reach quickly. I've never seen that. Id think anyone else would do that among today's player. The hardest block I ve seen for me way better than Bron.
This is what makes this Milwaukee team great. Just guys living as normal a life as they can and letting their game do the talking. No Kardashians here.
trust me bobby we understand and appreciate how crazy that block is
Bobby Bobby !!!
If Giannis was a Laker, imagine the bs stories we'd be hearing. I ❤️ that The Greek Sensation stayed with Milwaukee & got that 💍. More to come
If he went to the Knicks, they'd be making a bronze statue already.
Lakers don’t deserve Giannis
bobby! Bobby!! BOBBY!!!!
I'm Boston fan and I don't believe any team in the NBA is better than the Bucks. The Celtics need the first seed in order to beat the Bucks because I don't like the chances they beat the 76ers and the Bucks and then run through whatever team the west coughs up.
If Bucks stay healthy I think they will win it all and it won't take them a lot of games.
As a bucks fan, the celtics are the only team im worried about. Nobody out west scares me.
I want to give Bobby a big kiss on the cheek!!!! Thank you for staying

The 16 game win streak was slept on like crazy.
And this is why we’re winning this year
I really hope MIL wins a second ring this year. It's gonna be hard and everyone needs a bit of luck here and there to win. Let's hope the Gods of bbal will be on MIL's side for a second time in three years.
"The wall is real, I've seen guys lock arms 🤣🤣" Talk about giannis rules
Yo JJ Big Fan. You Shouldve Edited The 2 Plays Into The Video.
What bobby didn't mention they can play big because they have 2 key defenders holiday can stop point of attack and giannis can cover a lot of territory when one of those bigs gets blown by then brooks rim protection as well point being you have bigs that have skills and the most athletic big since Wilt and that point of attack defender in holiday plus they are deep
Prince block on Reggie is my all time favorite playoff block
one of the most forgotten plays in today’s generation.
Love the Bucks.
His impression of Giannis was spot on. LOL
I think Bam Adebeyo over there holding up his middle finger like what I'm not in the best playoff block conversation?? Lol
Bobby Portis has crazy eyes but seems like a really nice guy.
The honesty of when Bobby said "me and Brook Lopez can shoot 3s" made me think of how scary it would be for the league if Giannis developed one of their shooting ability.
