I mean, there’s some of us out there that are actually studying to to be an engineer and do just that. Even though Boston dynamics said they won’t, which is quite sad because I was hoping to one day possibly work there. Do you guys really think that our government operates within the boundaries of the law when it comes to innovation and weaponizing “robots” in their own facilities?

Back in 2014 I believe the police/swat used a robot on a radical activist who barricaded himself in a parking garage. And robots have been used countless times by swat, military and other law enforcement for years now. Definitely getting more advanced though.

Fahrenheit 451 (1953) featured a robot dog that tracked down dissidents. I swear those old Sci-Fi books are being used as blueprints and not warnings.

The difference between a robot the size of a dog or human, with a gun or conventional bomb or most things, and an atomic bomb...is gigantic. We've already had wars in which people in stealth bombers or launching missiles or piloting drones were untouchable, and often the weapon itself was practically invisible until the damage was done. @@asielnorton345

In the suburbs of Washington, D.C., politicians already authorized the use of drones in police surveillance. Even NYC rejected that. So, D.C.-area residents now have drones flying over their properties conducting surveillance. Not long before they're given AI & programmed to observe and detect everyday crimes being committed, like jaywalking, speeding, etc. and identify people via facial recognition. This level of surveillance is the end of freedom and personal choice

If you wanna keep calling this "War with Hamas" and ignore thousands of Civilian Palestinian being slaughtered (which is not the definition for a war)... then don't get mad at people on the other side calling "October 7th" attack a War with IDF, cause those innocent Israeli civilians slaughtered that day can also be ignored.
Not the same thing at all. Hamas intentionally puts it's own civilians in harms way while Israel goes out of its way to minimize civilian casualties. Hamas intentionally targeted helpless civilians because they are evil terrorists and now they are intentionally getting their own civilians killed as a strategy to try to get the rest of the world to step in and save them.
Hamas is embedded in the urban fabric of Gaza, so there is no way to effectively fight them without civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure. Meanwhile kibbutzim like Nir Oz and Kfar Aza do not have military bases in them but were still attacked by Hamas. And that's not to mention the Nova EDM festival where thousands of people were unarmed and there was no conceivable military goal other than murdering civilians

You expect their "government" to have extra space, to have shiny buildings... ofc not... it's one of the most concetrated places on earth, what would you expect? And you know why over 2 million ppl live there? Because they were forced to live there. Close to %70 of ppl living are not Gazans and they are expelled from there homes over time by Israel to live there... just do some research about Gaza before sharing your opinion. Also, regarding the Nova Festival, go check the images and hear the testimonies and you will hear that many of them were killed by Israeli cross fire and tank/apache fires. No doubt Hamas did atrocities, but it's been inflated by Israel to justify their own planned massacre of Palestinians.
In the late 00's there were programs to develop multi-wheeled land based drones. Ultimately TACOM and CENTCOM determined that land based drones were too costly compared to air-based drones. A decade and a half later, things have changed that they're considering these.

Will be interesting to see the counter weapons the opposition comes up with as a reaction to this. Sure some of it will be signal jamming. Could also imagine counter drone technology where the dog(s) are countered by multiple drones. Will also be interesting to see how those who these robots are being used against re-engineer these devices against their enemies.

Just looked this up, it was purchased by Hyundai Motor Group based out of Japan & Seoul in South Korea, not sure if that makes it any better but it isn't a Chinese or CCP-owned company.

Airborne drones are robots. Just because they don’t look like dogs doesn’t make them any better. And they’re more deadly.
At present, these robot dogs are just a form of drones. As they gain in autonomy and utility, which they certainly will (and may already have done, without my knowledge), that will change.
