    I really wanted to trash it, but it honestly looks pretty good. My 2000 Expedition fits 34s (305/70/17) with no mods or cuts at all. No rubbing either. I just put them on. 35s (315/65/17) fit with a little rub. 33s (285/75/16) look small on it. All stock wheels. Obviously, my speedo and acceleration are slow. Guess they don't make them like they used to.

      I’m not sure they care, outside of liability reasons maybe. They have themselves plenty well covered on that front already. Jeep has done it with opening up the wrangler openings, as has Ford with the Bronco.

    • @buffalobmf
      @buffalobmf Před 2 lety

      @@phild9813 they care thats why they make it hard. They also want every opportunity to screw you out of your warranty lift kits and big tires give them a way to say and prove this is why this happened so they dont have to ay for the warranty work. This isnt the older days, manufactures do not want tou working on your own vehicles they want you to bring it to their dealers. F150s dont even have a trans dip sticks cause they dont want you fucking with it. They also made a answer to bigger tires by offering the tremer. They want you to spend extra and get it factory made

    What was the offset on those wheels? Looks great! I have 35/13.5r24 -51 offset with a 6" lift on my 150. Not too much rub but I think I want less offset, width, and rim but more tire, any recommendations? I was thinking 20r 35 wheel? Or is that too small for the lift?

    • @user-sj2ns2wv1r
      @user-sj2ns2wv1r Před 2 měsíci

      The width will the be the only concern I believe with that lift and rim size. If you run a 10.5 wide you shouldn’t have any issues if you just want a taller and more tucked look

    Out of all the trucks I've owned I only had one f150. At the time I wasn't into truck mods, I mainly used it for getting parts for my cars and transporting my motorcycle. Never did any mods on it.
    I really didn't start mods until I got my first f250 super duty. I was in the store and saw a magazine called Lifted, It had a lifted tricked out f250 on the cover. It was then I went all out with truck mods, just like I did with my cars and motorcycles. Wheels, tires, bumpers, suspension, horsepower and interior upgrades. Interesting video though, I really enjoyed it.

    If you do 285 width 35s on factory offset wheels, you may not have to trim anything. I’m running an 11 f150 with a 2” level, 285-75r18 tires on newer factory wheels. Only had to remove the mudflaps, but it also doesn’t have the crash bars.

    Good stuff. I've now see a few of your vids, and all are informative, useful. Thanks. Am hoping you can answer a few questions. I'm new to all these but thanks to CZcams am learning a lot. I am going back and forth between getting a full size suv like a gmc yukon at4 or denali, or an f150 platinum or raptor, leaning to the f150's. I'd like to level the f150 or lift the suv, say 2-3"s, and add bigger tires. Love the 35's, at least on the f150's, though the 37's on the raptor if i go that route would be awesome. In any case, I see f150's leveled with 2", 2.5" and 3", so which actually levels an f150, and if it's the 2", and you do a 3" level, does that mean you add a 1" lift in the rear, or are you left with it dancing around level but not being exactly level depending on which number of inches you get? And two, the yukons and tahoes and escalades have adjustable air suspension and magna ride. How will a lift on such an suv affect those, affect the air ride? If normal minimal road clearance is 8", and in 4H you can go to 9" and 4L to 10", if you add a 2" lift, does that also raise the air ride, so that normal road clearance becomes 10", 4H can go to 11" and 4L to 12", or if not, does the lift screw up the effectiveness of the air ride? Or is there something to be done to raise the air ride also, and does that cause problems? Thanks. I'm not sure who to ask or where to go to learn about this air ride question.

      I'm sure putting 35 inch tires ruins it too as it changes the geometry of the truck. Who gives a hoot? We die like men!

    • @thisistheslam
      @thisistheslam Před 2 lety

      @@Jabooty_Williams doesn’t change the geometry of the truck just because you threw those wheels and tires on - that’s more of an issue with the lift than anything. Anything more than a 2” lift on the F150 2015-2021 will throw off geometry without further work/calibration.

    • @Jabooty_Williams
      @Jabooty_Williams Před 2 lety +1

      @@thisistheslam even just the wheels do it. The truck is taller. The impact will be taken elsewhere if it occurs. Say you hit a small car. Instead of the impact being mainly on the crash bars and crumple zone, the impact is now more likely to be on the axle. Now the axle pulls back on one side. The truck is now more out of alignment than it would have been before the taller tires. The truck has changed the direction of force that it was designed to crash at. Changing wheel size DOES change the geometry of the vehicle. Even if it's a small amount. That's not the only thing. Taller tires means a higher center of gravity. The truck is more likely to flip. That is a changed geometry.
