This is the JBL Flip 4, and here are 5 things you need to know before you use this speaker.
First, the sound is quite good for it’s size! It has plenty of punch to as it is a bass driven speaker as the focus is definitely put on power and volume so you get a sound that will fill a room but it’s not a bad sound at all!
Secondly, the battery is pretty decent! It lasts up to 12 hours which is the same battery life as other newer Flips as well! Even though this is a cheaper option you are still going to be getting pretty good battery life and lastly you for a full day no matter what you are doing.
Third, this speaker is completely waterproof as well as dust and sand proof! You could completely submerge this speaker underwater for about 30 minutes at around a meter deep and not have to worry about it! It doesn’t mean it will float so don’t drop it off a boat!
Fourth, it comes with Connect+! Why this is a good thing is it means you can connect other JBL speakers for a combined soundscape so you and 100 of your closest friends can all bring their JBL speaker and have your own rave!
Lastly, this thing is easy to pack! The speaker is small enough at around 7 inches and weighs only about a pound to make it easy to take anywhere and won’t be weighing you down if your throwing it in a bag!
These 5 things make the JBL Flip 4 still a viable option even with other newer speakers available.

I just got a flip 4 from a Walmart on clearance for 30 bucks. My other speakers are Sony, but this seemed like a pretty good price based on description. I have a set of jbl buds and they are fabulous . This is the first review that mentioned that this will work best out in the open, just exactly the info I needed to know. I ended up needing to pick up a refurbished Flip 4 so that I could use JBL Connect+ to use my Charge 4 & now Flip 4 in 2 separate rooms for a party. All their new stuff uses PartyBoost...which is a crap move on JBL's part...not buying all new speakers just b/c they changed the tech.

JBL=CRAP. I bought JBL high end UA 299Bux, and JBL Flip 4. All failed within 1-2yrs. Mind you, I'm a super gentle user. Flip 4 battery totally dies (need to plug charger to power) and sound emits a huge creeekkk sound due to kevlar/plastic broken.
I won't spend on this brand anymore, Price VS Durability VS Sound, it's worth around 25% of what you've paid only.
