  • Do you want to know how to frame your jigsaw puzzle in 5 minutes with no glue DIY.
    ***The trick to this working is the pressure between the back and the front, this is what is holding the puzzle together. If you are using a thinner puzzle or a thicker frame, try adding some more backing to keep the pressure of the puzzle onto the glass.

    • @NixPix
      @NixPix  Před 2 lety

      @@ViperStrike do you put the puzzle together on something other than just the table? If the frame is the same size as the puzzle than the above principle should still work just keep the pressure between the back of the frame and the front. Hope that helps.

      @@NixPix thx I finished the 1000 pieces puzzle last year, but the upper corner of the frame broke a little bit. I should not do the trick as before and find another way out to insert the puzzle without mashing the pieces and overlaying the texture.

    Great idea building the puzzle on the paper from the frame. I start with the edge pieces first too. Here’s an additional tip. When done with the puzzle roll it from all four sides to the center with a rolling pin. It seats all the pieces together and gets rid of the spaces between the puzzle pieces.

      April Victoria Durnin Yes that is a poster frame the film that you saw me peeling off was just a protective cover on top of the frame there is actually nothing sticking the puzzle together the only thing that’s holding it together is the pressure from the back of the poster frame in the front of the poster frame I have yet to figure out a way to do it where I don’t have the frame being the same way but I’m working on it.
      I had the thought if you could use a picture Matt to fit around the puzzle and then fit it into a frame.

    Just completed first puzzle in decades! Home from hospital for Covid. So needed something to do to bide my time. I was dreading taking it apart but didn’t want to put glue on it and not ever have others enjoy putting it together someday. I might look into this! I like the idea you mentioned in a reply of putting it on a mat and then framing it, only because I too wonder if the edge pieces won’t get depressed line from frame over time. Btw, I’m not an edge first puzzler but I do set them aside if I’m not sure where they go. I spent hours separating pieces into piles that I believed would make up a section of the puzzle. It wasn’t until a week later that I built it because I was so tired from all the separating! 😆 Thanks for your video.

  • @3k2p6
    @3k2p6 Před 4 lety +2

    This only works for small puzzles like that one. If it's big, middle pieces could fall. Before framing the puzzle, just flip it and use the same tape you used at the end of the video to secure the pieces. Then flip it back and frame it like you did. It's better and also without glue, as tape is easily removable.

      So as soon as Michaels got rid of their forty % off coupon I started buying them at Walmart for 6$ and haven't had a problem you say a matte finish ( did you make sure to peel the protective cover off) I did that once LOL. with the ones that are sagging can you put extra cardboard or paper on the bag to keep the pressure on the front of the poster frame. Thanks for commenting look forward to hear how it worked out.

    • @HDLowrider03
      @HDLowrider03 Před 3 lety

      @@NixPix Yeah, we are buying frames that are a little bit bigger, just to not eliminate any edge detail, you know, to show the whole puzzle. But I like how your's turned out. So, using a little bigger frame, created a white matte finish from the white paper (you know, the same sheet that you flip over and use) and since the frame is bigger, gravity wins. We had bought a poster frame, used cardboard to create a matte, and framed into that cutout the Disney 2-sided Up puzzle. We flip it when we want to see young or old Carl & Ellie.

We bought two of them poster frames and a piece of white cardboard (you know, from the crafts/school work aisle). Upon completing the Up puzzle, I cut out size in the white cardboard, used one of the sheets from the poster frame for the other white side (we couldn't find an all white cardboard on both sides), and used the two acrylic clear plastics (obviously a 2-sided puzzle hence why we bought two poster frames).
