  • Are you or someone you know struggling with vision loss or eye damage? Dive into this short documentary to learn more about how the SAVIR therapy can help you restoring your vision.
Vision loss following optic nerve damage was long considered to be permanent. However, modern research has shown that vision loss can be improved and partially recovered with the help of SAVIR therapy. This has been confirmed by several clinical studies. In SAVIR therapy, small microcurrent pulses activate blood flow in the eye and brain, so that “silent” nerve cells can be reactivated and vision can be improved. In a clinical trial, 82 patients whose visual performance was limited by optic nerve damage were treated for 10 days either with microcurrent (SAVIR therapy) or with a noncurrent placebo therapy. For the microcurrent treatment, electrodes were attached near the eyes, and the patients were treated with very mild microcurrent pulses via non-invasive electrodes for 40 minutes daily. After only 10 days of microcurrent therapy, visual performance improved significantly in two-thirds of the study participants. Clinical studies show that blood flow to the brain improves and neuronal networks in their brain recover again. A key finding is that the visual cortex in the back of the head reestablishes once again sends signals to the frontal cortex in the forehead area in order to generate meaningful images from the visual impulses of the eyes. As a result, patients were able to see better, even though traditional opinion of eye doctors is that the damage to the optic nerve is irreparable. To the contrary, the microcurrent therapy had simply reactivated previously “silent” neurons.
    __________
Are You Diagnosed With Glaucoma, Optic Nerve Damage, Macular Degeneration, Retinopathy or Vision Loss After Brain Damage for Example Following a Stroke or Accident?
When vision loss happens, one often only focus on the eyes and the fear of going blind. Prof. Bernhard Sabel follows a holistic and more optimistic view of vision as inspired by his research on vision restoration. His approach of SAVIR-therapy is to re-activate “silent” nerve cells in the retina, optic nerve and the brain. While these nerve cells get enough oxygen to survive for a long time (possibly years), the level of oxygen is too low to drive neural signaling. No signals, no function. Through individually adjusted microcurrent therapy, as well as eye training and relaxation techniques, the SAVIR-therapy improves blood flow, stabilizes the intraocular pressure, and synchronizes brain activity. The therapy is non-invasive, completely painless, and without any risks.
To ensure an individualized treatment in Magdeburg (Germany), only a limited number of patients are accepted for the two-week therapy each week. But once accepted, the daily therapy sessions in the SAVIR-Center can be scheduled based on each patient´s preferences. When arriving at the SAVIR-Center, there are no long waiting times, and the treatment typically last no more than one hour.

I have a question. If the placement of the electrodes above and below the eyes has the ability to pass a electrical charge through the eye and into the optic nerve strong enough to cause an actual visual sensation of the appearance of light while the persons has their closed eyes, then doesnt that mean you've basically bypassed the eyes actual sensory data structures, and hence if you do that then technically if you can carry a similar electrical charge that could carry image data (with the right frequency and amplitude) right into the optic nerve and have the person see again. Imagine having the output of a video camera lens passing the visual information in the form of an electrical signal through the electrodes and bypassing the eye and into the optic nerve .... which would cause a response, but it would take the brain probably a few months of analysis to that signal 24/7 and thus re-learn to see again. Meaning, creating vision without the need of actual eyes and bypassing issues with the eye itself.

Yes. As long as there is any residual vision, the SAVIR treatment can improve visual performance resulting from damage to the optic nerve, the retina, or the visual cortex. Generally, it doesn't matter how long the problem has existed or what caused it.
