I've had glaucoma now for 10 years, one eye sight almost gone the other eye not far behind, I've changed lifestyle stopped smoking, cut out alcohol, being Scottish that is like cutting your throat, lost weight, changed my diet, it now includes, fruit, veg, nuts, berries, raw spinach, and and I can honestly say that the change in my eye pressure is absolutely sweet Feck all,

I was almost convinced that all ophthalmologist are alien from a holistic-fictional view, as all of eye doctors I consulted (half a dozen) where totally uninterested about rest of my metabolism and obsessed solely on my eye pressure. Your videos and invaluable advices changes my opinion. Thanks doc.

I had some very bad experiences with doctors, especially Ophthalmologist, surgeons too. (I have a permanent disability now) very little talk a bag full of pills with crazy side effects and wham out the door they run. I’m at a point where I’m afraid of most doctors now. My prescription to staying healthy, practice defensive medicine, staying away from the doctors office , megatons of exercise, especially cardio, eat vegetarian, vegan whenever possible , stay away from western food. Oysters?.??..."?. YOU DOC are a gem in a minefield of bad medicine. THANK YOU THANK YOU
Been all over your CZcams stuff. Not as apprehensive about my cataract/glaucoma surgery. I still have about fifty questions. Carpool medicine, GREAT

Interesting Article; I have always ate the right foods. I was told I had Glaucoma in 2000. I had cataracts removed in 2003. They did implants so I would not have to wear Coke Bottles. I was put 0n 1 eye drop after another. My pressures were trageted to be 12 both eyes. Then in 2020, they did laser to reduce my eye pressures as they were now 14 and the doctor told me no need for eyedrops now. But he still gave me 9 months of eyedrops. He scheduled me for my next appointment in 6 months. I had the pressures checked a 6 months later. they were now 15, so the laser did nothing. I now had a big problem, as no matter what we did my eye pressures stayed above 15. I was losing the battle. Since then I have lost most of the vision in my good right eye. my left eye has blind area above the center. Now my vision is getting fuzzy and I have double vision. Not sure how much longer I will last. I gave up driving in 2020. I can get around the house as I have memorized it well. Then next problem is coming soon. I do not look forward to the coming months and years. I was told 3 years ago that they were very, very close for a cure due to very good progress in several areas for Glaucoma repairs. And for me not to worry. Well, that was 3 years ago now and I see no further progress. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. Good Luck to all of you with similar problems. Doctors tell you stuff, but really do not know.

He cured 97% of them naturally and that is an excellent example of power of supplements that he put those patients on . Ditto. I just got word salad from my Optometrist and he insisited that the inflammation that causes Glaucoma is not like the inflammation that can affect the rest of the body. His stance on the condition was that dietary changes and exercise, losing weight and increasing aerobic exercise would not do anything beneficial in re: my eyes.

I mentioned my dry eye syndrome and that I prefer holistic approach. Without checking to see what was causing my dry eyes she just said it’s caused by the ducts blocked by oil and to use heat compresses and soap in my eyes, if that don’t work then I will need to get medicated eye drops. Been through that before and it didn’t work. She never mentioned anything about diet. Now I have to find another doctor

Unfortunately, it's been shelved as the process of publishing a book is so very time-consuming and expensive (and that's after all the copy has been written). Your comment is spurring me to revisit that project, however. I recommend a minimum of 1,400mg per day. Maximum recommendation is 4,000mg total per day divided into multiple doses with meals.

I would not place it on the eye, but as an oral supplement it has multiple potential benefits for the eyes.

@@DrDavidDRichardsonMDSanMarino I was referring to taking it internally. I take a teaspoon of it several times a week. I just needed know if I should take a liquid fish oil instead. I’m always trying to do things for prevention. I eat mainly a plant based diet with some wild salmon and sardines. Lots of leafy greens and veggies and some berries in the morning with my raw coconut yogurt. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much. Just got diagnosed with closed angle glaucoma and iridotomy was the only thing I can do. I think I should get a 2nd opinion just in case cause I am so nervous about laser. You have inspired me to start eating betting and exercise more with your video.

Susan King Boersema. I took the drops for many years because I was afraid of laser treatment. Fortunately a coworker had it done and talked me into it 🙂 The treatment takes only 5 minutes and has lasted 3 years so far. My recent check up shows I'm still good, so I can tell you I'm thrilled with the results. Here in Canada it's free for the laser treatment, but I used to have to pay $60 for the tiny bottle of eye drops which lasts 6 weeks. When I ran out in the states, the same bottle cost me $180 US.🙃🤪

Most of the content in the videos are how to reduce or maintain the IOP which is the primary defence for controlling Glaucoma. I would like to know whether all these recommendations are applicable for patients who have been diagnosed with Normal Tension Glaucoma too?

"Had a decreases risk"...I've lived on fresh organic produce and voila--i have glaucoma. So it seems to be a crap shoot. Load of folks eat crap and never get glaucoma--so much for studies.

There's nature (genetic predisposition). There's nurture (diet, exercise, etc.). There's luck. You are correct that studies can't really give us much insight into that last component of what happens to us.
