Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver (It's Not a Movie) - Movie Review

- Well.. I watched Rebel Moon Part 2, lol. It definitely was lacking the story department. Obviously it had some great visuals, but they were repetitive and they weren't enough to drive the story forward. I like Sci Fi movies, but this one missed the mark for me. I don't know if they will actually make for more movies, but I can't really see myself being invested in the Rebel Moon universe. What did you think of the movie? Let me know!

What’s so annoying is the dude is talented but refuses to surround himself with people that would help his weakness. He needs a good editor and a great writer.
I totally agree. He’s made things that I really like, but I think a strong team would really help.
Bro's a hack
Sweet fawn Sofia with her teenage face, body and voice - stormtrooper-veteran...🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Snyder, what a funny joke!👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣💥
And that was the least of rebel moons worries lol!
Neither of the 2 parts are movies, they're just one big movie cut down in the 2nd act and marketed as 2 movies with the promise of an extended cut, it's basically a scam
Yep, pretty much.
The Emperium is so powerful, and their ships are run by coal?, 🤔
Right?!😂 Pretty odd choice!
Like you say, he has technical skills. However he should (imo) stay away from scriptwriting because it is just a big storytelling fail.
I agree. I’ve never been in a writers room with him, but I bet he comes up with some pretty interesting stories and ideas. It would probably be best once the story is established that he let someone else write the whole script.
@@joeljwhite and if you look at his filmography and which movies that turned out good (imo), then they are the ones where he had a very tight script to work on.
RM 1 with the space cow pulling a plough to sow the wheat, then in RM 2 using hand held scythes to harvest the wheat... So medieval technology to grow food yet they have galaxy travelling space ships, hover cars and laser guns. WTF? And then throw in a Harry Potter flying magical animal and mystical robots with antlers. I want that viewing time back. Dumb rubbish of films.
Haha yeah, there were definitely some odd creative choices.
Don't forget the Dreadnaught ran on COAL and the cannons had to be maneuvered by hand with HIDRAULIC WHEELS 😂😂
What martial arts you do? Couch wrestling?
As soon as we went into the slow motion gain harvesting, I had to stop. What is this Amish-farming-porn? Zakk Synder is to movies as Bambi was to Godzilla. If you think about it. Zakk is not a movie maker but a "moving picture" maker. What is slow-mo? It takes time and slows it down to almost a single frame, which is a picture. Therefore, Zakk, by slowing his movie, is trying to show us a "moving picture," not a movie, if you catch my drift.
lol, I totally get that. There was a lot of slow motion grain harvesting 😂. I guess he is a “moving picture” maker. Interesting. 🤔
Snyder is talented. To be able to operate in the cutthroat environment of Hollywood is a talent itself, to rub shoulders with shady producers and finagle deals. And yes, he can plan and create and see a complex movie to completion, a feat many people could never accomplish. That said, when he has full control, such as with Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon, the major shortcomings of his talent all crowd to the forefront. He falsely believes that his ideas are all good ones, when in fact what he is REALLY good at - framing an action sequence - is only a fraction of what makes a good film. Every other aspect is lacking when it comes to Synder: logic, pacing, characterization, dialog and nuance are all lost on him, to such a degree that all the talent and effort he DOES put on screen is wasted on the laughable ineptitude of what he can't do well but tries to anyway. With a hardnosed producer, keen screenwriter, second unit director and other people to rein in his worst tendencies, he could make something great. I don't think he's made a truly *great* movie yet, with 300 probably the closest, and that's only because he had a shot by shot storyboard to follow.
Nice in-depth analysis! Pretty spot on. 👌🏻
Im 69 th sub, 69 dude!!!!
Dude! YEEEESS!! Thank you!!! 🙌🏻
Kinda liked the first one.
Kinda...
But part 2 is just plain bad
(and I like Snyder films for the most part)
Same. I didn’t love the first one, but was open to Part 2 fleshing out the characters and the story, which didn’t really happen.
I’m not necessarily a Snyder fanboy, but I like several of his movies. I think people are overly harsh on his DC films, even though there are some hardcore fans.
