SuperYoshiFan10090 Studios It would still be slow with the V. What they really need to do to speed service in Queens Blvd is instead of replacing the useful M with the useless V, they should extend the M and R from 71st Avenue to Jamaica - 179th Street and have the E F run express east of 71st Avenue at all times except late nights, when they go local. Beef up R service on weekends and that should do.
Nyc Subway guy A J train extension to 95th Street would be much more effective than the W to Bay Pkwy on the D line, although the W service via Sea Beach would still continue.
JeremiahC99 J extension to 95th St? Personally I stick with my friend’s theory here. Send it express down West End, stopping at 9th Ave, 62nd St, and Bay Parkway, being the last stop, while all D trains make local stops.
@@Vxllain The West End Line is not only already frequent enough, but arguably one of the slowest options out there, even with the D making express stops north of 36th Street. Ultimately, for the entire 4th Avenue Line, I’m proposing eliminating R train service to 95th Street altogether. Rather, R trains will travel via the West End Line to Coney Island. With the R taking over all Astoria service with the N going to 96th Street, service would operate at 20 trains per hour. With two new switches south of 36th Street, the B would make all local stops south of 36th Street to 95th Street while the D would make express stops to 59th Street and operate to Coney Island via Sea Beach. N trains would serve the Brighton Line to Coney Island.

Their is huge point for the W train returning because the Q train now terminates at 96 Street 2nd Avenue to provide service for 2nd avenue residents and for those who work there and if the MTA brings the T train into service to run on the 2nd Avenue line it would be pointless because their are no 2nd avenue stations after 72 street and their is the Q train that already runs on 2nd Avenue line and their are no tunnels that connect the 2nd avenue line to Queens so to make up for those in Queens or those who go to Queens and would rely on the Q train the MTA brought the W train back to service to run for the old Queens Q line which is the new Queens W line and it also provides great service for those in Manhattan who now can use the W train to go places that the Q train would not go to so the W train is like the M train after the V train was permanently removed from service but more useful but hopefully you now know why the W train was brought back into service
@umm Without the W, you would leave Astoria and Broadway Local without adequate capacity. Remember: the City Hall curve limits the number of trains you can run on the line to 21 trains per hour.
The V train and brown M train didn't really die-they just merged to create the orange M train-so I guess at worst they both half-died. The orange M is mostly a V train anyway, just missing a stop and adding many more. It would have been so much easier to just extend the orange V and completely abolish the M, but people liked the letter M as it was an older line.
Just because the W came back doesn’t mean the V should either. Not to mention that it never went away. Rather, the designation was changed and it merged with another route.
Why do you want crap services like the Brown M and the V back? They were useless, the new M has more ridership then those crap services, your logic is terrible, dude. The Orange Q can't come back because 6th Avenue line can't handle 5 services on there because they're will be a bottleneck dilema in Bway- Lafayette, and the Q is already doing fine on Broadway, so bring it back will be stupid. The 9 was very useless, beginning before the skip-stop service to the 9's death, no one wanted this skip-stop service because the skip stops were the ones with more people, riders complained about this skip-stop service to the very end, no one was benefitting from this skip-stop crap. The H IS HERE but, lettered S, because it is too short to be it's own letter so it has to be a gray S. As for the K, there is a way we can bring back the K. Now stop crying over defunct subway lines and man up, most of them are not coming back just because you missed them. I bet you don't even ride the subway to see how the Orange M benefits more people then that crap Brown M and V.
The W is the only logical one to bring back because the Q was going on the Second Avenue Line, so the N will be alone, and the N would need help, so the W came back in service.
And those rustbucket R42s are retired and are not coming back into service. Those R42s can't even go inside the Montague Street Tunnel anymore. And no one was using the Brown M to Bay Parkway, the Brown M was almost all time dead empty, same thing goes for the V.
@umm They had to bring back the W because without the W, you would leave Astoria and Broadway with less service, considering the capacity constraints at the curve at City Hall (21 tph max).
