Glimpse is pure perfection! My absolute favorite so far. This album is making me a big ERRA fan. They also hadn’t clicked for me beforehand. But ever since Pale Iris, I’ve been like “tell me more. 👀” lmao this album is on HEAVY rotation right now. There’s so many good vibes in this album.
Ok full commentary now. This album is perfect as far as I'm concerned lol. There's so much to talk about. Where to start? The lyrics are so good. I interpret it as an introspective look at ones life. Fantastic writing. Vocals, they've both stepped up their game. Jesse's vocals are so smooth and ethereal, and JT sounds so intense on some of these tracks. His cleans are great too. The riffs throughout are really sick, but what really amazes me is that even on the heavy tracks, there's some kind of ambience, most of the time super pretty. What a cohesive album imo.
Easily AOTY for me. I could go on and on about every little detail of every track but the YT comment section is not the place for it lol.

The mixed reception to this is curious at best- it seems like everyone either thinks it's their best or their worst album haha. I'm in the first camp, this is amazing. Glad you agree, and I'm also glad you always keep it cozy and honest.
Blue Reverie is my SOTY so far- either that or the Red Handed Denial song that came out yesterday.
I'll happily admit I fall in the middle of the two camps.
It has some songs that I can't really vibe with too much despite realizing they are great songs like Blue Reverie(mainly because it feels too much like a Ghost Atlas song) but the album also has BANGERS and I was lucky enough to see them live a few weeks back. Unforgettable.
Not their best album imo but certainly not their worst. Its just....something new.
Been a fan of Erra for years now, and Glimpse is something else. Perfectly dark tone mixed with the ethereal ambience. Minimalist vocal harmonies in the chorus. Clean vocals from JT. Perfect song.
Past Life Persona is my Favorite 🌟

Such a good album. This is my absolute favorite band and have been listening to them for 15 years. I love that they keep evolving and that, at the end of the day, they are still putting out great music. And to those “purists” that don’t dig the new sound, I say, let bands evolve, let them experiment, the albums you love are always there to listen to. If you love these guys and their musicianship you will respect all avenues of their art.

A lot of people aren’t happy with this album and I don’t know any logical reason to hate on it as much as people have been. Like people were expecting an S/T 2.0 and I would have been SOOOOO disappointed if they did go this route, but what emerged here is probably the most hype release of metalcore this year. I understand if people don’t like it but a comment I saw on jesse’s slow sour bleed mini documentary reel thing on insta, where this dude was hating on the songs for not being as “technical” as previous songs. Again, illogical and senseless hate on such a great band that has not hit their peak yet because they have opened up such a massively different direction for not only them but the genre itself.
I have a feeling a lot of the people that don't like this album became fans when the self titled came out. I feel like most long term erra fans would know not to expect the same album twice. Every album has its own sound imo

Lol then I guess you could say that about any band, couldn't you? Of course some of their songs will be similar in little ways but to say they're all the exact same just shows me you don't even listen. Invalid opinion.
This album confused me a bit. All the tracks are great, but for some reason I don't connect with them at all. There's no emotion/s evoked, just an occasional stank face for those guitar tones
Ive only listened through twice so far but Past Life Persona is up there with Vanish Canvas and Skyline for my personal favorites. I got into them through the self-titled and most of those tracks didn’t resonate with me initially. Might be one that grows on you over time.
@@tuto5311 that's great! I got into them through the self-titled as well. Connected quite well with that album, with some exceptions. But on Cure I don't resonate with a single song. Past Life Persona is great, like a lot of other tracks, but doesn't evoke anything in me personally
Always crazy to see how differently ppl receive albums. I’ve been an Erra fan since Drift in 2016 and loved the self-titled but there were a few tracks that I didn’t really connect with as much. This new release, however, has connected with me on every track. I feel SO much emotion evoked throughout the entire album. Not saying you’re wrong, just wild how differently albums speak to fans
@@brandonralphs1717yeah exactly it’s like we’re all on completely seperate wave lengths when it comes to music, glimpse and wave straight up start makin me tear up a bit when I listen to those tracks. But here we have someone that doesn’t feel that at all! It’s kinda nice to see that we’re all so different
If you've only listened to it once, you can't form a full opinion. It took me a while for self titled to grow on me also, but you just have to give it more time.

Been a massive Erra fan since Drift in 2016 and I’d have to hard disagree here. Less technical, yes, but definitely not boring. There’s so much atmosphere and groove to digest here. Vibey af. Also might be my favorite album lyrically, from them.

It’s such a special track to me as a guitarist, because it is the only solo on the entire album I’m pretty sure? The only reason I don’t have it super high on my ranking is because Wish+Glimpse, Wave and Slow Sour Bleed exist as my top 3
