Modern Zangief is the thing I play when im in a particularly angry mood that day and wish to spread that anger to other people.

Point thirst. They want to get as many easy points as fhey can, so they can show off. They forget what the points are supposed to represent, ironically. That's why ranked play and your rank is irrelevant. You can find people who want to improve just as much in player matches, and they'll run the f2death at 2am on a Sunday 💀

Same, started playing Zangief and started on Modern all because of Justin's videos and I hit Plat 3 a couple of weeks ago. Never have I laughed so hard and so often while playing a fighting game!

I hadn't played Modern or SF6 Ryu before, so I decided to give Modern Ryu a try the other day in some BH matches. I'm still trying to figure out what this one guy meant when he chatted "Play classic for better memories."
I remember on Neo Geo cd (cdz) Samurai shodown 3 had the easy super options in the option menu which allowed you to do supers with pressing just the 4 attack buttons simultaneously.
My friends were super happy back then. They mainly still lost, but now they were comboing into supers.
No more pretzels. What a difference this option made. The insane damage in ss3 made that their favorite game to face me as they stood the most chance to beat me😂.
I really think modern 720 needs to be changed.
Just like charge characters are not suposed to charge while walking forward, a 720 is not supossed to be inputed in neutral, it's a balance design. Maybe if the modern input was something like hold up for a few frames + special it could be balanced, but the way it is right now feels really unfair.

I got destroyed by a M-Gief the other day. He saat on my face so much I thought I was supposed to pay him. I never thought I'd be butthurt from Modern. I kinda defended it before launch even though I won't play it. When I get wrecked by some auto combo caca into level 3 I get pissed & sound like my buddy blaming throwing 20 years ago.
I love my modern Zangief, but I don't make people quit, I make them spam the same shit in rage fury. It's o annoying.

As someone who grew up playing classic controls, it cracks me up how these "people" seem to equate skill to being able to put in an input. Being able to move your thumb around doesnt make you good at fighters lol. Nothing wrong with modern. High rank players dont care about this stuff... only low end players seem to complain mostly lol.

I know people hate on modern controls, but I started playing SF6 recently, as my first fighting game (excluding Smash, but that's different) and the game is hard enough to get into as-is, I would have probably ragequit by now if I had to learn motion controls as well.
I actually did uninstall after the first 2 hours, after deciding to go with Dhalsim for my first character, which turned out to be way too complex. Then tried Guile as a simpler zoner, but holding a charge while doing other stuff feels weird, especially since there's no charge indicator in the game. So for now I'm sticking with the simple and straight forward Marisa, and might give Zangief a try eventually.
Btw I started playing after your coaching sessions with Bawk, good job on that!

I played once in modern by mistake because i didn´t know the game,i was winning and then my character started to do the taunts,so i changed that shit to normal mode,i loose many fights but at least enjoyed the game,i need to go back and do new matches,that one was done on ps4 back when i was like 10mb upload or maybe more but it was not woah internet,but oh well,it was better than 1mb upload haha. Then after that the line was broken and they gave me 50gb on cellphone every 72 hours,lucky us but at the same time sad because 2 years later we had a unknown company that give us from 100mb to 500mb i selected 300 wich is fine to play online.
