Also, it was extremely inappropriate for the trans woman in the video to have grabbed and threatened Ben in that way, that is something that should 100% be condemned.
@@strongarm5137 Suicide rates in trans people are the same before, during and after transition. There's no improvement there. There are no studies that prove the effectiveness of gender-affirming care, only anecdotal "empathy"-based arguments.
Also, what the original commenter meant is that people are being recommended and pushed to transition at the slightest signs of body discomfort, without even having traditional counselling first. Traumatic experiences can cause all kinds of discomfort with one's body parts and the best thing one can do first and foremost is to go into therapy for at least a few years to try and unravel the possible underlying trauma before irreversibly modifying one's body.
If you listen to personal accounts of people who de-transitioned or left the trans-care health industry (Chloe Cole, Sara Stockton and others), they all talk about the trans community attempting to silence them and shame them to not go public about it.
You say transition regret is rare, but I wonder how many people are just afraid of the public humiliation and name-calling.
And I haven't even yet mentioned the children that are affected by this.

There are absolutely studies that show that the suicide rate in trans people have decreased after treatment. Infact there was a study done by Harvard and several other institutes that have discovered the suicidal ideation decreased by 44%, so you're wrong about that.
People are just being pushed and ushered into being trans is very very uncommon, if anything the exact opposite happens alot more, but that's wrong anyway. Nobody is saying that's a good thing. Of course people need to go to conventional therapy, discuss their thoughts and feelings, and really, I mean REALLY evaluate everything before making any life-altering decisions. Obviously children shouldn't be going through with trans surgery, atleast not until they're an adult and able to consent. THAT'S why there are people who de-transition. They go through a process too quickly, and if anyone who does detransition faces oppression, that's wrong too.
I'm not advocating for anyone to be pushed into something they don't really want to do, nor am I advocating for children unable to consent to go through with transitioning before they've given it enough time. I'm just saying for trans people who want treatment (who are also able to consent, by the way) it has been objectively proven to significantly benefit the mental health of trans people.
