- including a few of my tips on getting in, things you might need for your application, and things that helped me :-) filmed this video a few weeks ago but only just got round to editing! I applied to Cambridge after going to a 'normal' uni (university of nottingham) and I didn't know what to expect. this video also contains a lot of useful information for you if you're applying for a phd at cambridge. Hopefully this video will help to demystify the application process for you all :-) if you have any questions about applying please pop them down in the comments!

✰about me✰
Hi! I'm Savannah, 22 years old from Wolverhampton. I have just got my MPhil in Philosophy of Science from Magdalene College, Cambridge, and before that I did a BSc in Mathematics at the University of Nottingham. For 2022-2023 I'm working as the Access, Education and Participation at Cambridge Students Union, and there's much more to come!

thank you for your support :-)
I am currently year 1 in UoN(China) doing AEE course. Your video is encouraging and I hope to enter the cambridge through my effort one day!
Good luck! You can do it!! :)
That’s an excellent summary of the PG application process. I had a different experience though. my MPhil is one of the few that requires no personal statements, and most of my interview time was focused on my research proposal. you are right about funding. It is so hard to secure one for masters! I have a friend who is self funding her phd at cambridge though. Hopefully she will earn a scholarship soon. It’s no light undertaking!
Thank you!! That’s interesting - what was your mphil in? Gosh good luck to her, I hope she does it 😃
@@SavannahPhillipss MPhil in education (Educational leadership & improvement). Yeah I'm hoping the best for her. Thank you for being candid about your funding situation. It is a refreshing change from many youtubers who either avoid the topic or skim over it.
Interesting story- I’m starting my philosophy degree at Nottingham soon, so maybe I should consider an MPhil in philosophy for the future. Thanks!
Hi instead of applying to Cambridge masters whilst at final year of bachelors, can I go into workplace for a year or two to save up some money plus gain more professional experience, and then only apply to masters? Will it be more advantageous if I do it? Or is it better to just apply directly right after doing bachelors?
it depends on the degree but i know that for example, the diplomacy degree at oxford actually specifies that real working experience is an advantage. it can be better to apply straight after undergrad so that you don't lose motivation for academia after working for a couple of years, but working certainly won't be a disadvantage if you choose to do so
3:12 to 3:21 Congratulations! Happy for you!
Can I apply for M.phil in archaeology without having MA degree and with only BA degree?
Yes, to apply for an MPhil you need a first class or upper 2:1 in your BA.
I do have 60% of scores in bachelor 😢😭 What I can do now
did you get in?
you are beautiful
