I am an enormous Sublime fan, but the band waited for years before playing music again. They gave their respects to Bradley but life has to continue. The name "Sublime with Rome" is incredibly respectful and represents exactly what this band is.
Wtf do you mean they waited years? They waited years to take on Rome... they most definitely played and released music months after Bradley's imminent demise.
If it was respectful, it was forced respect. Bradley Nowell had the sole rights to Sublime when he passed away. When they did decide to start back playing again, they wanted to use the name Sublime but couldn't, due to a lost court battle with Bradley Nowell's estate, thus adding the "with Rome" part. But I totally appreciate your sentiment. =)

2021, still here. I have to say, as an ohio boy I still grew up with sublime in the early nineties.. The original sublime. But man, sublime with rome still make some great jams. Hope 2021 is good for everyone

It took me a long time to come to the realization there was no one better then Rome to take up this mantle. He loves sublime as much as the next person and he really cares about the image and sound they produce. If you don't believe me watch the acoustic badfish interview with the radio station. You'll see what I mean
I was almost front row on there first big show at smoke out 2009 not many people were sure about this new guy but as the show started I looked behind me to see more than 80 thousand people packed to the rim singing the song that impacted a lot of us local southern Californians heavily. No it was not Bradley and it will never be Bradley but I can tell you something magical and special was in the air at that show and it created a lot of closure for true fans that needed to feel Eric's bass lines buds drum riffs and feel sublime as a live band not just a CD or digital download. Sublime with time may have sold out but they brought back a feeling some of us really needed . No I do not follow or am into the new music but rome is an amazing frontman to stand with such an iconic band and not replace but rejuvenate that ok sublime stylie

i just saw Sublime with Rome last week at Blossom in Ohio. i was skeptical because i've never heard Rome before, and i was there to see Sublime, they only played the OG sublime songs, but Rome was a REALLY cool guy. it was a super fun show. and now that im coming to listen to all of the Sublime with Rome songs, i really wish they had played a couple of his songs. such as this one, been playing on repeat for a while.

Even after all these years of Sublime with Rome, their music still sounds clean and fresh. I was definitely a fan as soon as I heard their music on the radio. However, Bradley will never be replaced of course. We miss you and your voice.

I think if ANYBODY has a right to judge this Sublime with Rome, it's the ORIGINAL MEMBERS of the band. They like him. Once we get over being jealous that we are not the lead singer of our favorite band, we can start to listen and figure out... we are old! the kids need Sublime as much as we did!

All right I'll sublime fan from way back I mean I was severely depressed when Bradley Newell died I even turn my back on the lbda but I heard they came back with Rome I'm way out of touch and way off but it sounds good and maybe even made me give the lbda a second listen and you know what I ain't mad at it they did good they got their songwriting back in Rome

I was so against sublime getting a new singer. I loved long beach dub allstars and felt it was a nice continuation of the band and they made amazing music. So when they announced they were starting sublime again i was angry because no one could replace brad in my mind. Then i saw it was sublime with rome not just sublime which made it a little easier for me but i still wouldnt listen to any of it. Till one day a friend of me who knew how big of a sublime fan i am asked me if i had listened to the new album and i said no because its not sublime, she said you right its not it subline with rome and played a song for me. I am so glad she did. Your music is awesome hits home for me. It may not be bradley but its still amazing music. Thank you guys for keeping up all the hard work after your loss i am so glad to still have your music in my life.

I dont think the other band members should have died with 'Brad'. Who's going to hate Pantera if they decide to get a new bassist?
J- ROW Bradley was the creative force in the band. He wrote most of the songs, and that's obvious if you look at the songs Rome has written. Save for a few, they all pretty much sound similar. TBH, there's no reggae in this album at all. It's a totally different band, and it should have a totally different name. They should have just left it all alone and made their own band like they did with the LBDA. I think what's coming up next for Rome is a duet with Justin Bieber. I bet he'd do it if there was a big payday. That's why I feel Rome is a sellout. I'd like him to keep doing his solo work, and let Bud and Eric form their own band with someone else, someone who has the sense to not try and gain fame from a name that would immediately associate him with fame and success. Rome took the easy way out, and now tons of people hate him. If Eric ever leaves, and they still call it Sublime with Rome, it will be even worse. It will be the least authentic band in the USA.

Muchachos sin son realmente fans de Sublime o alguna vez lo fueron ,no debatan quien es el mejor o quien lo haría mejor , es una estupidez, estoy seguro que Brad estaría feliz que sus 2 amigos que armaron la banda con el, sigan el proyecto que tanto les costó ♥ soy fan de sublime y me jode esa estupidez de llamar a la banda "Sublime with Rome" cuando no debería ser así , se que es algo legal pero donde quedan los fans y el sueño de Brad . para mi siempre lo llamaré Sublime como es y como siempre debió seguir llamándose con Bran o sin él.

At the end of the day we all know its not sublime but if it means i get to hear a band play Badfish, Santeria and What I got live and do it well, its totally worth it. Those songs need to be heard regardless of who is playing them.
Sublime is Bud & Eric - Brad was only 1/3 of the equation. It's sad that Brad died and that his friend Bud found him. What a tragic day! But....
they are great musicians and it's great that they found a new singer that does their music justice. Love you BUD!
