Nice demo! Chris Minh Doky's "TheSolitude" is my staple for bass practice. A nice breath of air for my dry room. And it ducks when I play fast so it's always clear. Good stuff Chris and TC!
In the spirit of minimalism and these great pedals, I’m getting the Plethora from TCE to handle so many things while throwing a couple of mini drives, etc around it. I’m running it through my Bugera V5 Infinium “5-Watt” amp. 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration and reminders to keep an eye on “enough.”
I discovered Five Watt World in 2020 when I started my own dive into the stories behind guitars. My first video was the short history of the Stratocaster. Been watching regularly ever since. But somehow never got around to these early videos about the TC pedals. They sound incredible, but I've never heard you play before Keith! That's my favorite part of these videos!
Thanks for playing double coil/P90 guitars. Seems like so many demo single coil tele or strat sounds. I love that sound but it's been beaten to death and that's why I avoid it like the plague. I think I'd prefer the full size HOF II.
Just stumbled on this video while researching The HOF mini. You are helping to make up my mind on this one. Never realized you own so many PRS guitars though.
I've since sold them all. I took me ten years to collect them and three months to sell them and switch to the Strandbergs...and put five grand in the bank as well.
I just got this pedal. I like it, it should serve me well. I understand the Reverb types must be turned up to hear what they sound like, and then turned down to be used Tastefully. I went on CZcams and found a lot of good settings so it will save me time finding good settings.

Thank you sir for this demo. I'm having a hard time trying to decide whether I buy this or not. This video is a life saver. Btw is there any way you can put shimmer in the HOF mini or is it for HOF 2 only?
There is a Reverb that Robben Ford developed that he used on the road instead of the tanks in the back line amps but also as the main verb with his Dumble that’s pretty nice but subtle.
Ok but nothing you’d personally say cops that sound convincingly? I like the Deluxe Reverb/Twin because of the way the amp works with the tank and sounds like an acoustic instrument with a resonating chamber on rev level 2-4. I’d like to find a pedal that nails that effect, because I’m not super blown away by the sound of the amps with the reverb off, which makes me think I could probably use a much lighter solid state amp if I could get that reverb sound externally.
The best way to determine “truly convincing” or “truly convincing enough” is going to be were you literally A/B the spring Reverb to in your Deluxe Reverb against not only the pedal and it’s presets, but also any editing adjustments you may make to the Toneprints. I think the surety that your looking for in the purchase of the product will only be verified or disproven.... ironically only after you’ve had the pedal for a long time and had a chance to explore and fully flesh out it’s almost endless reverb options. Go buy it. Take a chance. I don’t think you’ll regret it, “truly convincing” spring sound or not.
+Daniel Vazquez Thanks Daniel. I wrote that when I was playing around w the different reverbs. It’s really just me using Eric Johnson style spread triads to sketch out the melody. Can you just use the reverb dial to alter the setting rather than have to use the tone-print? Or would you purchase an entirely different pedal in that situation?
You can alter the base reverb with the dials and the one that just came out has three controls. But if you want to have multiple reverbs at the turn of a knob a different verb might be better.
How's my accent? I couldn't seem to say "Linder" without going all Germanic. Not sure if it's the Dutch I've been studying. Jesus christ this pedal sounds absolutely terrible. Did people actually think this was good reverb 6 years ago? But Strymon’s Big Sky is even older and sounds a lot better still. These TC mini pedals have a really weak, muffled, THIN sound, the complete opposite of the lush, magical reverbs you get from Strymon, Meris, UA, Fractal etc. Maybe there’s a reason they’re so cheap and look like tiny plastic toys. The default is the room reverb. Via toneprint app you can see it as one of the presets for the hof (it is indicated as the default sound).
Can this be paired with ibanez turbo tube screamer? Or fulltone ocd ?
