I have had the same speakers for 30 some odd years... I had been saving now for 3-4 years. My local dealer carried the Serblin line. They are awesome just as you said! I opted for the Nola Champ S3 instead. They are made right New York by Carl Marchisotto who has been making and designing speakers since the mid 70's. Fun fact Brian Johnson from ACDC owns a pair of Nolas.
But as to the Serblins, they are amazing! At that price you have many choices. Great review as always!

Hey my friend, I can confirm every single word of your review, because I bought a pair of these beautiful speakers in May 2023. They sound incredible naturalness and musical. I used the Accordo with Circle Labs A 200 (hybrid amplifier), Manley chinook (phono stage), Linn LP 12 and Linn cables. From my point of view this system sounded (for me) better than the (complete) Linn System which I listen before. And, of course, I did not miss any bass, the bass is really incredible for this size of a speaker.

Seperating the crossovers from the speakers is good because otherwise u have interaction with the speaker magnets. you dont want that. Many manufacturers probably dont do that because of economic, esthetic etc.. reasons. Also your inductors need to be placed correct or like 30cm distanced from one another.

My long-term plan was to get three pairs of speakers. 1 forward, 1 neutral, and 1 warm. After hearing this review I'm questioning that plan. Granted these are closer to 4 or 5 pairs in price, and would take much longer to save up for, but I am intrigued.

Perhaps all I really need but we'll see.
The new Choco integrated also looks interesting. I have a Hegel but no longer want or need behemoth and heavy equipment. Small but high performance equipment is a target and one that is not easily achieved finding synergy in making a smaller system that works well. But I am making a list of potentials.

Not only because what Franco Serblin said about amplification needed for them and I quote 'Let me clarify some issues related to amplification for the Accordo. These speakers have been designed to be as transparent and dynamic as possible. In order to successfully achieve this objective I have used a unique woofer with a long-stroke diaphragm and low resistance bass-reflex loading designed to offer the best impulse response. Although the Accordo can be driven by any amplifier, we recommend amplifiers with low output impedance and medium output power (40-70wpc into 8Ω and 80-150wpc into 4Ω). Too much power may result in excessive cone excursion and deterioration of signal quality. If we use the Accordo with a tube or Mosfet amplifier with high output impedance we may end up with not fully optimal bass control and again encounter uncontrolled cone travel. Needless to say that tube amps are generally not too good in this regard. I personally use the Einstein integrated amplifier which is nice sounding but without bass as good as transistor amps." - Sincerely, Franco Serblin' but also because 300 b set amps are not ment to be paired with speakers with 4ohm impendance and such low sensitivity

I was raised to believe I was muslim my whole life, when my grandmother on my mothers side died my uncle gave the Eulogy, his closing words: "may this jewish woman rest in peace", I talked to him afterwards and apparantly my family had been lieing about being muslim for years, in Iran being Jewish wasn't safe for a long time so they lied for years and it was a secret. They moved to America in the 80's and just kept the lie going for decades. So, while I don't consider myself jewish I suppose I am in some ways.

No Pagani is better than a 911. Are you kidding with that comment? The 911 has one of the best chassis for handling. A Pagani wouldn’t be able to keep up with a 911 on the bends. That comment was hysterical.

I said 911, not 992.1 911 GR3RS on shaved tires & race fuel. I was referring to two good products with a massive price disparity of the same era. Meaning base 911 of the time the Huayra came out (2011).

What I have to say here I want no one to take aback by it or get angry about it but to spend twelve to fourteen thousand dollars on a pair of small bookshelf speakers.. only be $25,000 a year.. and mother Mary herself couldn't sell these to me for that price no way.. I bet you the cost to build these including inspection re-inspection carefully boxing them up and shipping them.. he's nowhere near would you expect.. if you had a little talent and availability to work with wood and various other materials.
You could easily DIY these.. or something extraordinarily similar.. for about 16 hours a person of time into two-wheeled effort.. and around 800 us for the parts.. I've got a buddy of mine who used to build speakers into exotic materials from the mid-1970s to about nineteen eighty-six before he passed away.. unless you're making an effort million bucks a year there's no way you're going to spend twelve to fourteen thousand dollars on a pair of bookshelf s.. again I apologize in the beginning of this comment only because it gets to the point of absolutely ridiculous audio equipment is not jewelry or some piece of eclectically one-of-a-kind art.. speakers get to the point of unbelievably being ridiculous I swear.. 412 Grand I can build another room on my house.. I could put a nice big comfy hot tub and pool in my backyard or even in my basement for that matter 12 to $14,000 no problem.. and I bet you I'd still have something left to build a small bar with enough booze beer and food, to entertain at least a half-a-dozen friends for the whole weekend.. including that lovely external tobacco that we all enjoy so much.
