Throughout my experience in TF2, ive foudn out that many types of players defult to certain weapons because it matches their prefered playstyle. Some of these playstyles are more casual and laidback, whilst others are more intense and tryhard-ish.
So lets rank Soldier's primaries based on this criteria!

Further explanations for my controversial positionings:
Black Box: Yes, I am aware of the Tryhard Black Box Conch Soldiers that occasionally show up in pubs. But I am still confident in my Black Box placement due to the HUGE majority of Black Box Soldiers who have no clue what they're doing and are simply around to have a good time. Ask any Tryhard Terror-Watt 5000+ hours egotistical Tryhard Soldier for his opinion on the Black Box, and he'll say something along the lines of "Sacrificing the single Rocket isn't worth it"
Beggars: So many Beggars Soldiers try to force it into being a viable, 20 clip Rocket Launcher. So few people use the Beggars, that this group of people are a large part of them. I was willing to bump it up higher on the list. So many people use the Black Box, but so few people use the Beggars. A negative group in the few are much larger than a negative group in the lots.

A list like this is 100% subjective. My choices came from the opinions of my viewers, my experiences in TF2 and the playstyle the weapon encourages overall. You may disagree, that is absolutely fine.
You may check the description for some further explanations of my choices. I recommend doing that before commenting.
You WILD with those takes, except Original, that is 100% fax, I've yet to meet one original user, ESPECIALLY strange quality original user who isn't a tryhard.
But still besides your original take, your other one's are wild, like ranking black box as most casual one, sure it is pretty casual, but MOST casual? Nah dawg, as a black box user, I've encountered tons of tryhard black box users, especially those who use gunboats for some reason
@@danielsurvivor1372 i think some people just get told that gunboats are the best secondary so they equip it & forget about everything else they could be using, i personally love using banners with it since the banners are really good & the increased survivability lets me use banners more. also shotguns are nice but id just keep worrying that im not getting the healing if i used one
@@artifactU Also using shotguns kinda distracts you from getting those rocket shots so by having banners or gunboats you're forced to commit and learn

The beggars is a weapon tryhards try to force into viability, and often fail. But they still try. The black box on the other hand is used by so many people, that the tryhards are a very small part of them. The beggars is rarely used, so the group of tryhards who use it made a much larger splash on this list than the few tryhards who use the black box in an ocean of casual users

You putting the Black Box as the "most casual launcher" is interesting to me because the ONLY times I whip it out is when I need to buckle my fuckle and bunker down because my team is losing and I could use the extra sustain, only occasionally being switched out for the Beggars + Conch if I just NEED that extra burst damage and there is no med.
It's also kinda interesting that the Beggars is so far into the "tryhard" territory because I personally much prefer the Beggars for when I'm messing around because overload jumping and sync bombing poor people with the 2 other loaded rockets or going for a massive garden is some of the most fun you can have on Soldier (imo)
Honestly I think the Beggars' is more casual than Black Box, since most of the players who use the Bazooka are just trying to mess around and have fun just like you said (Doesn't mean they can't pubstomp with it though)
Beggar is tryhard because it has a steep learning curve

As someone that never plays soldier, I keep mixing the cow mangler and the pomson up all the time, to the point where I am genuinely confused whenever someone says they like it.

I think rocket jumper deserves place as most casual only if by casual you mean nobody tries hard to win the match, but the Lon seems to be using different definition of tryhard so I think for his link it makes sense it's a bit higher.

Black Box is Tryhard because it isnt a fun weapon. Its purely for the healing to win. Its mainly used by Tryhards in the immortal soldier loadout. Very rarely is it used otherwise except maybe the battalions backup.
I can't land a hit for my life, so I use black box to not die inmediatly. I just want to play more, not wait in respawn.
I just combo it with a shotgun so that I can play aggressively with the self-sustain
I like the original for its sounds, not for the rockets in the center

I never took airstrike seriously until I came across a pubstomping as chad in 2fort. I mean he literally pull out rocket jumps in narrow rooms of 2fort and bombed the s___ out of us in mere second in the air, and he paired it with Battle's Battalion and a pocket medic and was literally unstoppable.
Battalion? Now that's weird, I'd get buff banned cuz it helps mitigate dmg penalty but damn, battalion huh? 😅
@@danielsurvivor1372 I prefer buff banner too, I'm just not gud enough to take good advantage of battalion. Maybe it actually did help the team survive, instead of getting frags, but I have no way to know that.
As a black box user, i personally rank it as "chill, but wanna win" since that's how i personally use it, i enjoy playing the game and i like it to be somewhat easier due to the health on hit, but i also like to push the objective and whatnot, so I'd probably put it more towards the middle of the list

i love how the black box footage you use for the most casual launcher is using the conch box loadout which is almost exclusively used by tryhards who simply refuse to change class lol
i would honestly bump the box above stock personally, stock is way more common on noobs than the box due to the extra shot of leniancy, 20 health on a hit rocket is strong, but moreso in terms of damage thresholds, a less experienced player will just die slower by missing a rocket, reloading them getting hit by another shot.

I highly have to disagree on the Blackbox. Blackbox is literally the soldier that wants to win 1v1's all the time. Then they combine with Conchqueror to increase their tankiness for general teamfight purposes. Also Blackbox might also be used by Soldiers that want self sustain when there's no medics, and the map has shitty medkits/locations for medkits and only knowledgeable Soldiers would know when to use it like that..

i freakin' love the liberty launcher. combined with the gunboats, the playstyle you become an unpredictable and constantly rocket-jumping menace that deals a measly 15 damage per rocket jump. using high vantage points and the element of surprise is so fun, but it's best on open maps/areas. it's not good by any means, it's easy to lose fights if you treat it like stock, but otherwise i wouldn't trade it in
Hard disagree with the Black Box. Most people I see using it are trying to stay alive as long as possible. Deserves a spot somewhere in the middle imo.

I believe that soldier who can hit every rocket with direct hit is the third-deadliest thing in tf2, after quickscopers, and bot snipers.
Black Box is a weird launcher, it allows the Soldier to either play more aggressively or just makes them more patient and tactical
Most black box soldiers are equally if not more tryhard than stock soldiers.

i know no one will ever believe me but the airstrike can be insane if you know what youre doing. damage falloff doesnt exist if your hitbox is rapidly flying directly at your target, and clip size is everything to soldier as a class. the liberty launcher does nearly the same damage per clip as stock, making the extra rocket meaningless, but with just two kills the airstrike already does more damage per clip. just consider the airstrike with the kritzkrieg, seven 230 damage rockets fired within 0.28 seconds of each other. im not saying its perfect, but i think people need to forget the base jumper exists and give the airstrike a chance with a real secondary, especially the banner.
I mean I guess I'm not "trying" anything specific with the Black Box, but I think it's a great weapon to try and win with. Whether you're good or bad, it really helps out with your survivability when healing is unreliable.

I feel like people really react weirdly towards the airstrike
a little bit less splash dmg and a little less direct dmg [about 10-20 less] meaning you may need 1 more shot
but it's honestly not that bad. You never HAVE to do that jump thing, just use the additional rockets and be happy. Also retrieving while shooting 50 rockets back is always fun.
It is obsurd to assume that tryhards do not try to have fun, why the hell would a majority of them be playing the damn game if they're not having fun? I can understand considering a solid chunk of tryhards to not do stuff for fun, but winning is fun, it's gratifying and many people do not sacrifice a favourite weapon for it
For example, me, i play generally to win, however my favourite weapon for the soldier is the beggars bazooka which in a casual scenario is almost always worse than stock because it's design is incredibly hit or miss, yet i use it all the time for my roamer loadout and sometimes even banner loadout because i am good with it anyway
And when i decide to take a break from playing to win, i go queue for something like koth or hightower and i stick with the exact same loadout, but play for clips instead of picks and making space, because the beggars is insanely fun
I love using the black box since (when paired with either the buff banner or battalions backup. NEVER THE CONCH) makes me feel like both a one man army and a big support that can stay alive long with the health on hit.

As a fellow cow mangler user, if you have a duo of soldiers and they're extremely coordinated (playing with a friend) you can be nearly unstoppable with unlimited ammo and (if the other one's using the direct hit) extreme sentry busting capabilities.
I personally use the direct hit because even missing a shot is satisfying with it, and I like the challenge of hitting every shot. I don't like how ginormous the blast radius for stock is, it just simply is too forgiving. I recently got bored of the game because I've mastered the basics of every class, but then I bought some weapons and now I'm playing soldier much more regularly (I'm a heavy main, soldier used to be my least played class). I pair the dh with the batallion's backup or buff banner and disciplinary action. But that's my second loadout for soldier. I spend like 90% of the time trolldiering, as I find it much more fun, rewarding and challenging

While this video does have a decent amount of points like I very much agree with the ranking of the cow mangler and the air strike and especially the thing you said about the original, I don't agree however with the placements of the black box and the beggars.
For starters most black box users usually pair the black box with the banners to serve a supportive role since the health that it grants, along with the black box's DPS makes it a great supportive role since you are going to last longer in the battlefield to support your team while providing them with buffs such as protection, extra damage, or health, so most soilders who use are strive for capping points and winning games, and thus tend to be more dedicated (sometimes a bit to dedicated) in winning, and thus making the tryhard soilder stereotype.
Another ranking I don't agree with is the beggars bazooka since most of the people who use it treat it more like a mobility tool than an actual weapon due to its deviation and its misfire mechanic which tends to attract more of the type of people who take the weapon itself less seriously and more aim to get those market garden kills (contrary to unpopular belief aka you),which brings in an audience who belive in the phrase "fun-over-results", appreciating mobility fun over points on the score board.
A bonus (but I think it's just me), the way you use the term 'tryhards" seems a bit biased against the type of people you describe as "tryhard", and the term tryhard is quite misrepresentative as a whole since anyone can be consideredfriendly, even a friendly (since they can be trying to hard to come across as freindly), and a skillful player doesn't necessarily have to be a " tryhard" (since their main goal isn't to do a specific task like win, its to generally have fun) So in conclusion your video isnt "bad", but it isn't "good".
just tweak the ideas of the beggars and the black box and bit and you have a good video and yes, I know its your opinion but your opinion isnt what most people expirence in game, thus kinda considering it " flawed" (not incorrect but noticeably imperfect), just note at the end of the day you do what you want and you dont have to listen to what I say or what other people say, you are enjoying yourself and making these videos and I am happy for that :).

Honestly the only reason why I used the original is because I like quake and liked the reference to it its kinda sad that most people who use it probably never played it
Half of the people who use the beggars are: casuals or new ones who experiment and play with it or tryhards who want to force it even in the soup, I would say more that it would go in the top 5, the black box is much more seen by tryhards
My take on Original users:
They desperately want you to think they were gods at Quake back in the day, but chances are they weren't even born when Quake came out
Also, I used to use the Original not because of the visuals or stats or sounds or anything, but because I had a Spec Killstreak one
Well, for me the Original just looks cool and it's the Quake 1 gun and I like this franchise. And it takes quite a small amount of screen space, it's simply convenient. Speaking of the outro song, it's called "Se mettre sur son trente-et-un !" , Lon'q accidentally missed a word. And right now in Genshin you can play the music event with cool rhythm game and this song is there rn, pretty tough on hardest difficulty
I have my Tank buster loadout in reserve if case the enemy team needs to be stopped/stomped.
I consider that set as my “Tryhard set”
I use the original when I play soldier but I am neither a solider main nor a tryhard, I just like how simple it is.

As a Soldier Main, I mainly use the Rocket Launcher because it’s the most reliable for me as a causal player. I use the Direct Hit so I could practice with my accuracy (even playing TF2 for years now, my aim is just as shit as I was a newbie.)
and the original tryhards normally have a strange one with some random rename
I have no idea what servers you are playing on, but in my experience Air Strike is WAY more common and actually threatening unlike The Liberty Launcher. I've seen great players over the years who prefer Air Strike over stock for either higher clip size which allows for more leeway during duels, or for rocket jumping benefits since with gunboats you can sync your clip for a HUGE burst of momentum thanks to the higher firing speed when rocket jumping.
Meanwhile The Liberty Launcher just sucks, it's borderline useless without a damaging secondary/buff banner just purely because of how little damage it does, I only really see it used alongside the Market Gardener and that's it, most of the time people using it are usually doing it for fun because god knows why someone would equip it willingly to "win". Honestly I would swap their respective placement with each other.
Also, Black Box as the most casual is definitely a hot take for sure
Most of my time is spent on Uncletopia, I trust that the average Uncletopia player has game sense and a decent awareness of positioning. The liberty launcher has had a bit of a renaissance recently among these players, as when combined with the buff banner or the gunboats, its actually surprisingly good.
Long story Short; The Liberty does a small bit of everything, so a small amount of every playstyle uses it.

I guess I am a tryhard minded person. Dying is incredibly unfun, so I try to not do that, which makes me play more tryhardy to not be miserable.
The Beggar's Bazooka is an interesting case to me, I see it gets a lot of use in 6s and it makes me happy seeing it there.
It's a silly weapon and I love it to bits. I have good days and bad days with it and I always have fun overload jumping all over the place.
Playing with the Beggar's has taught me how to time airblasts. :')
I just like the center projectile of the original but surprisingly I can’t hit rockets with regular stock skin but with every others rocket launcher I hit well

I mean, as controversial as some pf the takes have seem to be taken by this comment section, they only think that kind of irked me was the fact that people just twnd to forget that you can use the airstrike without being in the air and still have far more rockets to deal with. Granted, it isn't quite the 20 rockets of Beggers, but it can be quite good.

As a +1k hours Soldier main I have to disagree hard with this one.
Black Box + Concheror is widely accepted as the ultimate pub stomp/tryhard combo and for good reason.
The passive healing plus the 20hp for the Black Box hit makes you almost invincible with decent positioning and considering you get your health back anyway rocket jumping is incredibly easy and on par with the gun boats.
It's basically self healing + mobility for the cost of 1 rocket and possibly your shotgun.
Almost forgot:
The health you get back on a Black Box hit while the Conch is active is insane and allows you to easily steamroll a whole group and dip

Another "TF2ber" that doesn't even mention the Beggar's main function as the burst-damage sentry nest buster. That's what makes it a tryhard weapon, not the "it's basically 20 rockets in a clip" that isn't true at all. If you try to use Beggar's like that, you will be killed by anything that isn't brain-dead or a fresh install. 🤷

My list (cas to tryhard):
Liberty launcher: objectively the worst launcher. The only merit is the jump damage. Very fun tho!
Air strike: Also really fun, more so when one goes for ludicrous market gardens, but pretty bad.
Rocket jumper: Any player using this is usually trying pretty hard, albeit with a vastly suboptimal loadout, hence why it is placed here.
Beggars: Fun, quirky, suicidal. 10/10.
Cow mangler: Either the hardest of sweats or, more likely, alt-fire spammers, which I respect.
Black box: Either sweaty soldier that hates dying or backline spammer that hates retreating, either way more serious gamers.
Direct hit: Mostly people done with sentries or scouts, otherwise quite sweaty.
Stock/original: classic "Soldier main™", as sweaty as it gets.
Putting the "comedic" disclaimer at the END of the video was a pretty big mistake because I was about to scream a racial slur when you said that "nobody cares" about the tactical upsides the Original has. I am not a tryhard player, but when you tried to dumb down a weapon for it's "overexaggerated" upsides, it just makes you look like you're taking 5 doses of copium an hour because a 10,000 hour Soldier main joined the lobby with this thing. I get that the Original is just a straight upgrade and is used specifically for try hardy reasons, but dumbing down those huge reasons to use the weapon to "nobody cares" really makes the whole reasoning feel like a rant. Next time, PLEASE fit anything relating to disclaimers at the beginning, it's make the video look more professional and more understandable.

As a original user I just fun the original to be fun there are couple times where I do get a bit try hard-ish but ay I personally love the original as my opinion
