I remember watching many lectures and how to videos filmed in this driveway circa 2007. You were the first to teach me about cars, and now at 30 years old, I can live like a cheap bastard and fix my own stuff. Most of my cars ive gotten for free, youd be proud.
I was def gonna say a little pickup as well. I’ve always wanted a 4 wheel drive ranger with a turbo diesel and manual transmission. Do whatever your heart desires ❤️
Dave, It’s cool to see that you still have the maroon Dodge Caravan that you bought when you bought the bus and the band saw for the air conditioner scrapping.

I vote that you put your new diesel in another sedan or maybe a little hatchback or wagon...doesnt have to be VW, just something thats cheap enough yet not too rotted...i could see a little wagon being useful if you needed to run to the atore or something real quick. Whatever you do im excited to see what it is!
I suppose you could put it in a little suv of some kind, or maybe just leave it in the Jetta and modify the car itself to your liking since you don't need anymore vans. $2k isn't bad at all for a fully running and driving car nowadays, the only thing I don't like about those VWs is their gateway modules like to go nuts and misalign the proxy settings which causes the electrics to go nuts
Id swap into omething more aerodynamic and lighter than the vans. Knowing you, I'm guessing it will be another chrysler product, but stumped for ideas other than that. All the k-cars rotted away. I like those vw rabbits, but heck they are so rust prone. Same went for the dodge rampage. There was a guy that did a alh into a saturn s series. Good results in terms of fuel economy, but after 13 years of driving an s series, I'm sick of practically sitting on the ground like a go cart.

Time to scrap the Cheviac and find a Buick Roadmaster wagon to create the Mastermax. A Duramax turbodiesel powered Roadmaster wagon. How cool would that be? Or perhaps a Powerstroke powered Lincoln Town Car to create the Power Town, because I know David loves Fords. Or how about a Cummins powered Chrysler 300C? The C standing for Cummins. David is a natural-born engineer, he can create anything.
i can create anything. but all roadmaster under bodies rusted off the frame. to many people put those low tech over priced 12 valves in all kinds of rear drivers.i am into high tech diesels now. until you drove a 23,000 psi common rail electronic tuned diesel , you will never know what you are missing out on as a life experience. so much power torque and economy. i got the 2015 cause it is vw's most advanced vvt diesel they ever produced and they were only made in 2015. then the diesel gate.so it will be interesting for my future testing and comparison to all other diesels.
The 2.0 TDI swap is gonna fun in something light and small like a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris and maybe an 06-15 Mazda Miata. It has something modern because fitting a 2.0 TDI in a Pontiac Fiero or a Geo Metro is gonna be a real pain in the ass.
