      Just wanted to throw this fun combo out there for anyone who wants to go absurdly fast. I call it *"The Psionic Bullet"*
      Play a Tabaxi Psi Warrior, multiclassed with Bladesinger, take the Mobile feat, and get them some Boots of Speed.
      Mobile + Bladesong gives you a 50ft Walking speed (or just preemptively cast Longstrider on yourself if you don't wanna take the feat).
      Activate the Boots of Speed to double that, giving you a 100ft speed.
      Cast Haste on yourself to double your speed again, 200ft.
      Use Feline Agility to double your speed once more, 400ft.
      And finally use Psi Powered Leap to give yourself a Flying speed equal to twice your Walking speed, giving you an 800ft Fly speed.
      At max that's 800ft for your movement + 800ft for your Haste action + 800ft for your Dash action + 800ft for you Action Surge action = 3,200ft of Flight in a single turn.

    My favorite DMing trick I've ever pulled the players found a Tabaxi village in the midst of a prepping for a celebration. The players learned that they were performing a ritual that would allow the reincarnation spell to force the resurrected into a young Tabaxi body, and there was a ball to pick who would be reborn. They are slowly introduced to various characters, and each time things get just a bit more musical. I had to make sure that no one asked about names, and to just not mention any since that would give away the game. I just referred to them as "The lazy teacher, or the cat about town." Eventually the tuxedo cat was performing some stage magic one of the players finally asks his name. When I said it was Mr. Mistoffelees, the light finally clicked and they realized the entire game had just been CATS the musical.

    I just love the visual of this cat with the size and proportions of a human 9 year old. A really excitable child talking like a normal kid and then immediately doing some stupid cat shit. One time he started loafing like a cat would. Which makes no sense given him having human proportions .

I have this project for years now, cause i like to explore via dnd things that are true to me in real life, I love the idea that a barbarian is not always a smelly hairy nordic in underwear, but a cute looking diva, a queer queen that don't get no for an answer.
      I like the idea of being a delicate thing, a precious one, but not fragile. Like an unpinned grenade, it's delicate because it's dangerous.
      And because the years have passed, I started questionning about "non binarity".
      I identify as male but I almot always played either non binary folk or female characters. Strong women mostly. The dad joke you just made was all it take for this character to suddenly being a reality, with a joke based name (it's a tradition).

    The fact the person who voiced the female part is called Maeve amuses me. Why? Because in Paladins, there is an assassin called Maeve, that just so tends to be a Half-Tigron, with Tigrons being literally Tabaxis, and Half-Tigron being, well, humans with cat ears and tails. This might actually be a good take on how to make cat-people without making a new race or make them have fur.
    That she's working at Blizzard makes it so much weirder, as Paladins was THE F2P competitor to Overwatch on release. Did I mention she was my main? These were fun times back in 2018.

      Same thought here. I made the Leonin a sorta elite guard group specifically bred to be strong that formed their own tribes when the Tabaxi kingdom in my setting fell and the felines spread out in a diaspora. Also made it easy to distinguish their groups culturally since the fixation on the Leonin-alikes being stronger led to a might-makes-right outlook in their tribes, whereas the Tabaxi-alikes that kept together formed hierarchies around their wise maternal figures. There's a connection that allows them to form truces to occasionally fend off common foes (like lizardfolk), but time really built up a divide.

    As I think, sooner or later you will make a video about the rethinking of the Druid class. So I thought about it and decided to propose an idea for an unusual subclass. How about an insect/hive themed Druid?
    I've just been thinking about this idea for a long time and would love to see a functioning D&D class based on it.)

    • @LupineShadowOmega

    • @TheTiredBard
      @TheTiredBard Před 2 lety +5

      @@LupineShadowOmega Like a hivemind kind of druid? Yeah, that could be cool. I was thinking of a druid that focuses on communicating with elementals, or a druid that focuses on the undead (think of a swamp druid or something, someone who harvests the souls taken by nature).

    • @LupineShadowOmega
      @LupineShadowOmega Před 2 lety +3

      @@TheTiredBard Technically that second one is Spores, though only Undead and not the soul bit. I have a friend that loves that class and most of his zombies get reanimated as walking swamps, just covered in lichen and mushrooms, even some that are just bloated with water.
      Sure, all of that is just flavor, but it is flavor that lines up with the class descriptions and abilities.
      As for the hivemind bit yep mostly anyway. Like I'd be worried about a druid just having a flock of familiars, but the Swarmkeeper did a good job of making the swarm both useful and flavorful without it being too mechanically powerful and that just feels like something that it would be cool to give a druid access to.
      The elemental druid is also a cool idea and not really that far from The Wildfire druid, so that too feels like it would be a good place to start designwise.

    I REALLY enjoyed this, even though I didn't understand the non-D&D parts, lmao. For once, D&D was the: "Oh, thank goodness--I at least get this!"
    I didn't know a cat-race existed or that people didn't like them. With that dexterity and charisma, I don't get why they wouldn't. AND they make natural swashbucklers? I want to play one in whatever D&D campaign I stumble into next. I like the Tabaxi-alternates you created and I want to do more research on the Cat Lord. I wonder if he could be a (neutral) patron to someone, and they'd be like his (neutral) cleric/warlock/whatevs?
    A Cat Paladin?
    Damn, and I'm not even really a cat person! But this was so interesting--CAT LORD! I'd play a Cat Lord-warlock!
