Perthshire, Isle of Arran, Loch Maree, Ullapool, Harris, Torridon...In fact just about anywhere on the west coast really. The valley going through the high hills looks very like Glencoe who Ryan mentioned in his 25 favourite places in the UK. We have very lush green grass because of the amount of rain we get. I love going to Glencoe during the summer on a drive. I live 10 minutes from Loch Lomond which is the longest loch in Britain and Loch Ness is the deepest. There are hundreds of castles in Scotland. I'd say a big part of the reason for the "fantasy feeling" of the British Isles - specifically Scotland in this instance, and frankly the European continent at large - is that you have to remember that a lot of the big fantasy classics are written by old world authors. These _are_ the places that people like Tolkien were inspired by - and that's to say nothing of the fact that all of the fairy-tales and myths which form the cultural substrate in the new world were exported over there when Europeans arrived - these _are_ the landscapes and the settings where those fairy tales and myths and legends _happen_ !

Holyrood Park i think its called, not Hollyrod. He also pronounces Edinburgh wrong. Burra not Burro, at the end of Edin. When you say there's something about this landscape, I think you are talking about how old and atmospheric these ancient places really are.

Emphasis on the end A as, sorry didn't hear you)..Edinburgh is pronounced Edin-bur-ra , Glasgow is pronounced Glass-go and Loch Lomond is pronounced Lawk-Low-mond...as in hawk.when saying the lawk part you need to be clearing phlegm from the back of your throat😂😂😂😂...All the best 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇸🇺🇸

Steve, you might like to know that Arthur's seat is not the only extinct volcano in Edinburgh. Edinburgh Castle is also built on an extinct volcano called Castle Rock. Also Edinburgh is pronounced more like 'Edinburra' not 'Edinboro'

I've just turned sixty nine so my hiking days are over. However, I've walked a portion of the Highlands, some sections of the Brecon Beacons, the South Downs extensively, the Ring of Kerry and the Wicklow Way in Ireland over the last forty years. If you have the walking bug I suggest you make time for it. Before you know it, it might be too late.

The sea that you mention at 14:13 is neither the North Sea nor the Irish Sea, but is, in fact, the North Atlantic.
He spent way too much time on the Isle of Skye in this video, at the expense of other equally deserving parts of Scotland. Knapdale, Kintyre, Mull, the Trossachs, Glencoe, Perthshire and the East Neuk are all breathtakingly photogenic landscapes, while historic architecture is scattered liberally across the whole country.
Edinburgh beats Glasgow hands down for looks, but the atmosphere in Glasgow is warmer. The city has successfully kicked its violent image and replaced it with a well deserved reputation for friendliness.

My parents had a long retirement on the Isle of Mull, which is nearly as large as Skye, and as beautiful. It still needs a ferry to get there. So many parts of Scotland are beautiful, and - with no law of trespass - you can walk all over it.
The pronunciation was bad. Other commenters have corrected some of it. Remember that many of the place-names in the Highlands and Islands are in Scottish Gaelic ( pronounced Gallic), which I respect but I cannot speak.
So I think it's it slee-guhh-un for Sligeachan Bridge on Skye, and Beejun num Beeun for Bidean nam Bian, the highest mountain of the beautiful Glencoe valley.
Two warnings. That beautiful green comes at a price. It rains (particularly on Skye)! And, particularly in late summer, the midges are a nightmare, especially the further north you go. Any visitors must take midge repellent, and avoid still air; and, if you walk across rough country, you can pick up ticks, which now carry Lyme Disease. I've been told that the chances of getting this are lessened if you remove them within 36 hours. You can now get little green hooks to do that job properly.
