  • The most frequently asked questions about our Switchback and X2 Telemark bindings. Read more in the description below, leave us a comment, or reach out to our customer service team if your questions remain unanswered!
0:15 - Binding pops out of ski mode during turns:
This is likely due to ice build-up between nylon plate and lock-bar. A simple remedy to this issue would be to take your finger and swipe the snow/moisture/ice off of the nylon plate during every transition.
    1:08 - Pre-releasing and improper tension:
This is due to inadequate loading of your Switchback binding cartridges. A good way to check that there’s proper tension in each cartridge is to make sure that there’s 4mm of space between the indentation on the silver rod and the black sleeve on the cartridge when your boot is locked in.
    2:15 - Adjusting Cartridges:
Adjusting the cartridges on your Switchback binding should be a quick and easy process. All you have to do is turn them to the right to tighten them and to the left to loosen them. We recommend that you grab a sharpie and mark a dot on the top of both cartridges to ensure that you’re turning each side the same distance every time.
1:48 - Replacing nylon screw caps:
This binding features internal housing which means the screws connecting the binding to the ski are sheltered in the nylon toe-box. To easily access these screws you can drill into the plastic caps that cover them with a wood screw to pop them out. Warning: If you decide to do this the caps will likely be damaged meaning you’ll need to purchase replacement caps, which are available here:

    Hi Guys:
    1) Is this binding overkill for Fischer E109, light touring, making once on trails, occasionally steeper slopes
    2) How doe it work with leather boots?
    3) What is minimum and maximum thickness of the duckbill.
    Thanks
