I've seen him live a few times. What an amazing singer! My wife got his autograph on a picture. RIP Billy Joe Thomas. Rock n Roll Lullabye may be my fave. But so many amazing songs.
Saw BJ exit a Reno casino door after finishing his gig, circa early 1990s. I was way far away and brusquely elbowed through the floor room crowd. He had what appeared to be a bodyguard to his left and right. He was holding a folded up newspaper, had very deep lines on his face, and I said, "BJ! I got all your Christian albums and still listen to them." - he looked kinda dazed and mumbled lowly as I avoided blocking his access. No offense, loved the man's music.
A Burt Bacharach number made raindrops more pensive in styles of lyrics, and made it look picture perfect for the soundtrack to butch cassidy and the Sundance Kid. A perfect combination if you can believe it.
BJ was a very nice man. My daughter and I went to many shows and became friends with him. He loved Gloria and his daughters so much Was very respectful to me, since I am an older fan. I am just a few years younger than he was. He was also very kind to my daughter. She used to take some of the pictures that she took at shows. We always got front row seats and enjoyed the show so much. His band was a group of great guys. Sure miss going to the show. My daughter passed a few years before BJ did. I am sure she is enjoying hearing BJ sing up there in heaven
I saw him in New Jersey in AC. Always that voice. He kept asking us if we were having a good time, like he didn't believe it. i felt bad for him. He was great!
I grew up to all his song and my late husband looks just like him, blue eyed blond, dimples, teeth, smile, Western wear but was a drummer. ❤ 🇨🇦
Grew up listening to his Christian music. One of my Mom’s favs!
His songs are part of my life !! Thank you so much !!
It's Only Love was a great song. Highly underrated.
