    So, one of the most common questions I tend to get is something along the lines of "what dive equipment do you use?" And that's a broad question, so in this video, I show you what I keep in my main grab bag that I take with me on my dive trips.
    I have three kit bags in total, one for cold water diving, one for warm water diving and this one with the gear that never changes. I always have this bag packed and ready to go between dives and it contains my mask and fins, dive computer and a few other essential pieces of kit.

    The most important thing about scuba diving is that you do it safely. And that is what Safe Diving is all about.
    On this channel, I will discuss all aspects of going underwater from equipment advice and techniques to the little things like what to pack in your bags for a dive trip.
    My entire professional career has been spent in and around the scuba diving industry and travelling to diving destinations both warm and cold.

    I feel honoured to be the first one to mention “flappy snag hazard” on this channel. Twice you were really close, though. 😁

    Look slike a good selection of useful items! One thing i do, is i use tough, Ziplock plastic bags to keep items together. Tools, spares, clips, etc all tend to "fall out and into the bilges" never to be seen again ime and so putting like itemes together really helps if you have to pack/unpack in a hurry and especially if you are doing it on a boat :-) They also help to keep things like tools dry from the inevitable moisture from wet kit, or simply a rainy/spray-y day on the water!

    what about a live session (maybe via simply scuba)? I would really love to hear your take on rebreather, intermediate/recreational DIR setups, mares loop, ratio deco (on air... who can afford helium in such times? ;) and don't be shy to educate us about p-valve advantages (are there options on wet suits?)... cheers and keep it up

    • @SafeDiving
      @SafeDiving  Před 4 lety

      No, I use neoprene mask straps when I find one I like, but mine tend to wear out often so I just stick to basic mask straps...

    Great channel Mark, and as usual coming from you very informative. I do however have one question for you.... How in God's name do you get behind that desk????? Looks like you are pancaked between it and the wall.

  • @wallybrown9509
    @wallybrown9509 Před 4 lety

    Mark, how come you don’t consolidate all those small parts and bits in one bag or box, so they aren’t rolling around all over the bottom of your large bag? Great video btw.

    Hi Mark, thanks for sharing all your gear preferences. One question, do you have 2 different pairs of rk3 or one? Can you fit both your whites boots and your soft sole boots in them?

    • @SafeDiving
      @SafeDiving  Před 4 lety +3

      I only have one pair at the moment, they fit my 5mm boots perfectly but they are a tad small on my rock boots.
      I was talking to one of the designers at Apeks last year trying to convince them to make a pair for me in electric blue. I'm holding off buying a larger set until they release a blue pair...
      Hopes and dreams...

    • @christosz5
      @christosz5 Před 4 lety

      Safe Diving was planning to buy the gray ones, but if electric blue is soon an option I’d rather wait!

    What are you using in your backup mask to keep it from fogging up if you lose your primary underwater?

    • @SafeDiving
      @SafeDiving  Před 4 lety

      There's an anti-fog film inside it.
      It was a free sample, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother,

    what torch do you use and do your carry a spare with you

    • @SafeDiving
      @SafeDiving  Před 4 lety

      I dive an Exposure Action 3 as a primary on that Goodman Grip and a Simply Scuba Mk1 as a backup.
      I've been on a night dive, separated from my team when my torch flooded. Wasn't the most fun I've ever had...
      I used to use a Scubapro 720 as a backup because it had plenty of but time and a decent output, but it's a bit clunky

      15:44 this knife is a DIR Zone Dive Knife. They're not too imaginative with their names so it's just the 'Dive Knife' www.dirzone.com/cms/en/products/59/80

      Just double check the specs of the model you need.
      But yeah, I recommend Ratio as a brand
