  • Today, talking about the EV charging capability and driving of the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime. I talk about how the Toyota app is very inaccurate in terms of reporting electrical consumption on recharge, and how you can compare, using other apps, such as EV Connect to confirm this discrepancy..

I finally..... FINALLY was able to get my 2024 Prius Prime!! Three long months and it finally arrived. There is a lot for me to learn especially since my last car was the 2010 Prius (which was a great car). The dealership filled my tank with gas, but the didn't fully charge my battery. I wish I would have noticed before I left, I could have changed it while I was there. Lesson learned.

Three months ? We ordered our Prime as a 2022 model. Twenty one months later a 2024 model arrived !. We love the car, getting 80km range on battery alone.

I purchased the 2024 Prius Prime here in Ottawa on February 7. I park in my condominium underground parking garage, and had previously had a Level 2 charging station installed in my parking space. The garage is kept at 15C day and night.
I usually charge the car overnight. The first few days when I would start the fully-charged Prius, it would report I had 48km electric range. However, as the weeks have gone by that start up range has gradually been increasing, and currently tells me that I have 58km range when I start the fully charged car.
So I have been wondering if there isn't some kind of battery conditioning going on when the car is new.

Sometimes I’ve noticed better mileage on warmer days and traffic conditions. Car seems to do better in more moderate traffic and more slower paced driving than at sudden higher speeds, which drain battery performance.

We are getting close to 80km on a charge in our 24 Prime and that's at less than 5c. It's our third Prius.

I have the same senario but imwaited 1 year to get it still like my 2021 better. Too many hickups with new controls .Did not like having to get a cel phone to operate many options too many steps to operate radio, nav etc. Should have put extended warreny on my 2021 .. Bynthe way just did 455km in -2 weather and used just under full tank . Hope;you have better luck .

You can do the voice control to switch to radio and set stations. It does take some getting used to though the defroster and fan controls are just odd even though they are touch based.
