Bucket seat is a must... not having one makes you hold the steering wheel little too long so you're counter steering too late which can cause you to spin.. that seat is going to make you wayyyyy more consistent with linking the whole course..
My Sierra has the same ABS and brake lights popping up, most of the time after hitting a bump, you happen to know what they're on for? Also, nice Z man, picked up an 07 HR 350z for myself last year, going for more of a street build for mine though!
Always use both hands once traction is broken.. drifting with 1 hand will mess up your reaction time and more probable cause of spinning out.

I have it on my Z when I drift sometimes. I think its just the brake fluid sensor not seeing fluid since you're going sideways
