Can also get accolade points avenging the fallen players - you'll periodically see flags in game with nearby mobs that are a morale rank higher than they should be with a purple glow around them. Defeating them will get you accolades, no invasion nonsense necessary (though I presume those award more).
They do award more, and the avenging thing is also good. Totally forgot that gives as well!
Hmm idk I think just getting them from the game is ok , I haven't seen anyone that brings in more than 250 points .
Also if you respond to people's assist requests you can get quite alot as well. Depending on the mission and the difficulty of course. The most I've got from a mission is around 9k.

Not gonna lie I have been just farming accolades in the party cave (3rd stage past the waterfall) I just kill all there exit game reload and I see like 5-6 purple flags every time xD

Great info on the upgrade materials subject. The salvaging method for mats is the best route. Like you said: "always salvage." If you don't, you're doing yourself a great disservice. You find so many items throughout the game that are low star items but have high upgrade numbers. Salvaging the lower star items that have upgrades works wonders. I went this route in my blind playthrough and ended up with a ton of upgrade materials compared to farming. I'm glad you pointed out the salvage method in your video. I'm sure it will help many players.
When you went through the game did you just run 1 build the entire game to did you have 2 or 3? Right now I am only focusing on 5 one for each skill( water, fire, earth, metal, wood) im using the reinforcement sets and weapons and leveling them up. Im on part 6 I believe I just beat the wood guy that had some crazy lightning moves.
Basically what I’m asking is if it would be worth it to focus on fewer? And are there better sets or just armor closer to end game?

I started playing about a month ago and I thought I had this figured out, I'm glad this popped up in my recommended.
Go to the flag if you do change attributes otherwise it won't change especially if ya plan in playing with friends. Also its always a good idea to make several builds for end game it will help a lot.

One thing to note about sets is that the set bonus takes up a slot when embedding. A 3 star non set will have 4 effects but a 3 star that’s part of a set will have 3 as the set counts as one.
It will be interesting to see when people really start min/maxing builds if sets are the way to go or not.

Gear level max is +9. Highest gear rarity is 5 star (only on rising dragon difficulty) Player level max is 150. Phase level cap is 99.
While it is correct you can't get 5-Star gear until you've unlocked Rising Dragon, you don't have to be playing on Rising Dragon (the drop rates are just way better on that difficulty). Like, once you hit those end credits, you can load up the first level in the game with a Panda, toss it a 4-Star Gear, and get that sweet 5-Star Juice.
@@TheAntiSanta that's only for accessories. To get a 5 star from the panda just give it 10 jewel fragments. 5 star every time.

I really like how this doesn't feel stingy with its upgrade system. I never felt like upgrading was a grind. I even had rank 4 gear before I got to the hidden village, so that was a plus
I just figured out battle sets and am at a high enough level to play with builds. I went and made two and half builds worth of gear.
Fell short on the last one because I spent 5 million copper without realizing🙃. I had no idea upgraded gear cost so much 😭

Never sell your gear again is actually huge! Thanks for mentioning that. Usually you get 11 fragments per gear and you can sell 5 of them for the equivalent of selling 1 weapon. I usually split between selling & salvaging, now we go salvage all the way babyyyy!

My two cents on the colour-coded Special Effects and their categories (in brackets) that can be embedded and some recommendations:
Any number x WHITE (general/ support) - Attack Power > Enemy Status Effect Accumulation > Accumulation on Enemies > Divine Beast Gauge Gain.
1 x RED effect (damage/ offence) (choose wisely) - Melee Attack Damage, Wizardry Spell Damage, Damage to Enemies with Negative Effects, Spirit Damage to Enemies with Negative Effects, Element-imbued Weapon Damage come to mind.
1 x PURPLE effect (buff/ debuff) (a good number of single-use Jewellery Essence Special Effects; some unlimited-use Special Effects) (stack as many unique (see below) Positive and Negative Effects as you can).
1 x GREEN effect (resource/ efficiency) (IMO, not worth it, unless it's a Jewellery Essence Special Effect).
1 x BLUE effect (resistance/ defence) (IMO, not worth it, unless it's a Jewellery Essence Special Effect).
1 x YELLOW (restore) (IMO, not worth it but nice to have).
# Besides these, there are single-use Jewellery Essence Special Effects (as shown in the video) that also fall under different special effect categories and will obey the same rules of embedment, ergo, you can stack them on the same gear item as long as they belong to different categories.
# The number of special effects that you can have in a gear item is limited by the number of slots into which you can embed.
# To take an example of a -ve effect (this applies to all +ve and -ve effects), 'Damage Amplification' is ONE TYPE of -ve effect. Stacking same/ different kinds of Damage Amplification Special Effects does not work as you might think. The 'Damage Amplification' -ve effect just gets refreshed when each of them are applied when their respective conditions are met.
Salvage gear. Sell jewel fragments. Never worry about money again. None of that be sure to embed early nonsense. Reverse Pandas will also eat jewel fragments. You can give them 9 or 10 and get a high rarity accessory. I only get rank 5's from them doing this but I am on NG+
I agree with this, but some people are embedding 10 sets at a time and wont have enough, so when you can embed early its way cheaper to especially for testing purposes.

I picked up the set from Hong Jin Tianzhu Hermit Set, the set bonus are HP +10, Wizardry Spell Spirit Consumption -1.8%, Power Gain Upon Wizardry Spell, Staff Spirit Damage +7.9%
I tried to put Wizardry Spell Damage on some pieces, but it was always great out in the list of embedments on chest or legs, that should be able to take it. Why I can't put it, because of the set bonus or because I have not found it yet. Though a saw a gear piece that had that?
Probably both.
Some set bonus are limited to one embed per item. But you also can’t embed a jewel or a buff if you haven’t yet picked up that jewel/ buff yet.
One thing I don't know if the guide touched on that I'm still trying to figure out: to fill out the library of effects you have to stack on stuff do you need to salvage that effect first to learn it?
I believe some effects you unlock when you get the piece of gear period. Other effects you need to salvage from gear like the special ones with the circle symbol on them

I think its weird that you cant stack HP restoration. I've been trying to do it and it doesn't go past +1.9% or +2.1% depending on the weapon you're using. Please explain what i'm doing wrong. Im trying to make a life-steal build

We need a end game guide. How do I get the materials to upgrade my gear to lvl 10? My char slaps but I'm unsure what to embed to optimize it into god slap tier.
Embedment systeme is complexer because stats are overriding a another stats seen that there are only round 80 slots. Example i embed the stat Copper obtention 5% this going to over ride the stats Copper Obtention thats already in my embedment inverntory. First i thought maybe the stat only overriding when they better but thats not the case. Please somebody explane me this too.
When you play with a friend does it make the bosses harder?
The effects on secondary weapon and ranged weapon do not count, only active weapon slots effects are active.
Facts! It's just your equipped melee and ranged. Loads of content creators and commentators have incorrectly stated that non-active weapons contribute or that it will still enable set bonuses. You can clearly see from the Status tab (character sheet) that is false. Someone said the Master Smith Hammer's "Equipment Drop Rate A" still applies; this is also incorrect. While the Master Smith Hammer is equipped, "Equipment Drop Rate A" becomes "A+." Also, "Set Bonus Mitigation" from my weapon doesn't apply to sets on Accessories, only armor (sad face). On a related note, I have yet to determine whether "Equipment Drop Rate" and "Drop Rate" stack better than "Equipment Drop Rate A+" ... still lots to figure out and lies floating around.
When re-rolling accessories with the pandas, you have a small chance to upgrade rank 4 to rank 5 as well
If you give it a 5 star item it will always give you a 5 star back! Normally an accessory from my experience
You also get accolade helping people by using the recruit/respond function

one thing to not is stats do look like it only is in effect when the actual wepon is used/shown as equipped for ranged except for buffs from stats from sets as why sets are popular.
interesting on the salvage sell thing as i havent calculated the cost salvage vs just sell but mostly just sold 2 star as 3 and upp has a bigger chance on essence.
got me smiling when you said when it cost was insanly expensive as 5 star and an essence embed is the insanly expensive

If I salvage a weapon will I lose the effects to embed them
Whats does spirit damage include ?
Deflect, melee attacks, martial arts ? (Which are all other stats with higher %)
I believe spirit damage to the enemy, so it fills up th enemies spirit bar more on the top left to give you a quicker chance to get to a fatal strike
Can someone help me? I'm looking for elemental imbued weapon damage to embed into my weapon and gear but it's not on the list. It's not a jewelry essence that needs to be extracted. Is there sonething I'm missing?
Can someone explain power drop to me?! The 2nd part reads as if its a negative for the player. "decreases the DMG attacks deal to enemies".
The way that reads to me, why would i use it if my attacks after applying PD to the enemy become weaker.

You can extract all of them, but as he said every gear has a primary effect (the top one that has a red font and has that full square symbol) that cant be changed

So if I use a Damage dealt on my head slot, a Earth damage dealt on my hand slot, and a poison damage dealt on my leg slot they all won’t activate? Or is it just the same name embedments that don’t stack?
All embedments stack if you have them on gear that is active, such as your armor and weapons, etc.. the only ones that dont stack are special gyms like damage amplifciation, etc.. that you have to actually have a gem of to put on gear.
Pretty straight forward. Who is doing this wrong? The only thing I was confused about was what the hell does +17 fire attack actually do? Obviously it gives me more fire attack but everything else is based on percentages. Does it just add 17 damage to my fire based weapons or spells?

Pretty much. Its like an compromise between giving a element more damage and more status build up. The alternatives are stronger, but elemental damage takes up red triangle slot, while the accumalation just takes a normal one like power. Element power should in theory work with the attack bonus (_____ power) but I can’t see how it improves it, cuz it doesn’t show it on stats or anything… which is weird cuz Nioh lets you see it.
@Exl they show the power increase what do u mean? It says" flame power" its the third window in the status effect menu
I didn't know the jewels sold for so much. I was salvaging until I ran out of money then I sold and just swapped when I needed to.

The main curiosity I have is why some gear let’s you embed specialty enchantments (with the swirly icon) and some gear does not. I can often embed specialty items into greaves or body armor but not the helmet, for example. Uncertain why. If anyone knows, lmk!
I wish I knew that too! Seems like some gear just has those restrictions. May be related tot he piece of gear it is like legs, gauntlets, etc.
You can embed special gems only to helmet and gauntlets. More specifically to helmet you can embed only gems that gives buffs / debuffs upon wizardry spell or fatal strike and to gauntlets you can embed gems that trigger upon hitting with martial arts or deflecting critical strike.
Could I put an element enchantment on a a weapon that has a weapon imbued damage modification on it?

I have a question so I notice sometimes when I'm trying to embed certain armors why are some blacked out and some not? And does tier come into play when trying to embed like if I want to put something in a tier 5 I have to savage a tier 5 to get it or is for example a chest piece for a chest piece? I'm confused and help would be appreciated
Long story short, you can't have same kind of effects multiple times in certain cases, like you cant have 2 damage effects on a piece. Also certain armor like chest, etc and some pieces can't have the special effects like damage amplification, etc as an example. Just know you only get the options it gives you.

Plus, if you salvage it and get the jewels, you can sell the Jewells for more than what you could sell the weapon/armor piece for.
Can sell a 2/3 grade weapon for 5k
But salvage it for 14 jewels
And each jewel sells for like $1k,

My only pet peeve is not being able to mark/ lock on the go and the option being gate kept at the blacksmith is kinda of a backward decision from previous Nioh games :/
You can mark them locked/favorite from the Inventory screen too. Just not in the equipment screen. For some reason in equipment screen selecting an item will only equip/unequip. You can't access storehouse outside of blacksmith tho if that's what you meant

The reason people are embedding wrong (including me) is that the game does an extremely poor job explaining anything.
"Spirit Vulnerability" okay, how much extra spirit damage do I do? Does it stack if I have it on my weapon and on my armor? Can I embed it alongside other spirit damage effects or is it exclusive?
Yeah. They always leave soooo much of this stuff to us to figure it out.

How you get the wings
Why are some of the upgrades grayed out, even though I have the resources and slot available?
You haven’t found them on gear/salvaged yet. Also certain effects can only have 1 type of that effect on a piece of gear at a time
Each color upgrade can only have one. The little symbol at the front of the name has a color. The "white dot" ones are generic upgrades and unlimited tho

if i extract something from a weapon, then embed it into a weapon -- can i take it back out in the future & reuse it?
Yes but you will have to salvage that weapon as well. So youd have to refarm for it if its one you like and end up wanting to use again. So choose wisely

Yes but when u salvage a weapon, the embedded stats will be lower. Than there were. So weapon has 5% more damage.
After salvage the weapon. The embedded 5% will be 4% when putting onto another weapon

Range weapon embedded slots effect is active even if u are not wielding it, just equip it into range slots it will take effect??
You have to have it active as your active ranged weapon for it to count.

@/NBK/ Chaos Seph I'm assuming no since it's not active. It probably works like this.
If your first ranged has a fire based element boost, when you have it equipped and are able to shoot with it, let's say a bow, it'll give you the stats of the bow.
If your second ranged has water based element boosts, when you switch to it by holding your wizardry spells button and right dpad, let's say a crossbow, the stats will now switch to the crossbow stats.
