The real cost of sailing a brand new Bavaria C57
James and Philippa were brand new to sailing when they decided to comission Aequus, a brand new Bavaria C57 from 2018.
In this video, we dissect the cost of buying a brand new boat. Can you really buy a brand new boat at the price announced by the dealer at the boat show? Can you rely on the delivery times? How much does it REALLY cost to buy a brand new boat?
James and Philippa explain in details why they chose their boat, how they thought through their purchase and what they would do differently now that they have more experience.
We visit Aequus and talk about what equipment was put onboard, before going through the cost of purchasing, repairing and maintaining Aequus, how much fuel cost in the Med versus the Caribbean, how much insurance costs them every year and how much it costs them to dock their boat.
