- “An open kitchen is often a messy kitchen,” says interior designer Krysta Gibbons of Kipling House Interiors. For this Incredible Kitchen, she faced the problem head-on by isolating the spaces intended for messes form the rest of the kitchen. A cook herself, Gibbons wanted to design a space that wouldn’t just look beautiful, but that would meet the practical needs of the homeowner, who spends a lot of time in the kitchen herself. The results are beautiful: a showstopper of an island with ample storage space, hand-painted terra cotta tile, and a beautiful cypress ceiling.

Another beautiful kitchen, finally with a large butlers pantry, what we call here a dirty kitchen which is absolutely beautiful. Oh the high ceilings are so relatable, they make everything airy and allow for lots of storage. Could you please share what is the main kitchens area and the pantry area? Thanks

Oh wow, this is so beautiful! I wonder if all that space is a waste though sometimes? Idk, I feel as if I would only every use the butler pantry? But it’s just beautiful, I’m so I love with the tile and painted brick!
People that own homes this size typically entertain frequently so whether their extended family, community groups, neighbors, business/political networking, etc.

Thoughtful design. About time. I need someone like this to design MY kitchen. Where do you find one who majors in kitchen design. My Reno guy gave me the most uninspired plan and unpractical plan ever. He was wearing gym shorts, I could tell he didn’t cook at all, and didn’t understand placement of any appliances. When I said I wanted open shelving he suggested two shelves instead of all my above counter cabinets. The walk in pantry sounded like a box. Nothing coordinated like a hidden pantry, nothing close to Pretty.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the ladder used to access the most upper storage, could be folded flush against the lower cabinets to prevent tripping, and not take up floor space.

In the butler's pantry, just WHAT is the drawer/appliance at 7:28? I've re-watched that bit several times and can't figure what it can be.

It's a convection oven or convection microwave.
It’s a warming drawer/ plate warmer.
Love everything except for the windows next to the stove. If you really cook, they will get so dirty all the time. Cleaning grease off glass isn't the easiest thing.
These people aren’t cleaning their own homes. And could not care less about how much work they are generating for their housekeeper.
Lovely design and layout. I could only imagine how much of a chore it is to clean.
People with homes like this seldom clean after themselves. They hire trained professionals.
If you clean up as you go along, most cleaning jobs are not overwhelming.
Not practical having to climb a ladder. Well at least for us seniors. Beautiful though.
