  • hey guys & Happy New Year! Polene knew how to celebrate 2024 in a big way and that was by dropping a HUGE price increase. Most of Polene's handbags have increase by 20-25%. Although I love Polene's handbag styles I know many of you might be done purchasing from the brand after this huge jump. Polene as a brand has not received the best reviews for their customer service and they have had some quality issues already on some of their handbags. Can't wait to read your thoughts. XO.

    I think Polene is trying hard to become a heritage brand. The way there is through exquisite customer service and products, not exorbitant pricing!

    As a French person, I think they are overrated anyway. They got popular with influencers for affiliate marketing/sponsorship deals. I am glad in a way, not to have a reason for considering their bags anymore, just like DeMellier. I discovered other brands in the same price bracket that not everyone is wearing, and I prefer that. Great video.

      @@mrsleyva I just posted them for you both 😊. I have noticed this trend lately in other domains, Increase prices and reduce size or quality. It seems marketers don’t want us to have access to quality at a good price anymore and paying more doesn’t guarantee it either, what is happening for the world?!

      I had 2 bags from them, both had issues straight out of the box. Customer service is garbage. Not to mention the bags feel stiff and the leather did not excite me one bit. I personally think it’s overrated brand with mediocre product at the best.

    I bought my Polène Numero Un Nano bag in chalk color in December, I live in Brazil and I didn't expect wonderful service due to the distance, but email communication worked incredibly, the bag arrived ahead of schedule, perfect and very well packaged, the Service was excellent, the bag is beautiful and I didn't have any disappointments. I've already chosen my next purchase: I want the Tonka in black. The price increased, I paid 380 dollars for the Numero Un Nano and now it costs 470...I still think it's worth it!.     Hi my dear friend!
    I really got unlucky with my Camel number one. She was my first Polene bag and I got so disappointed with the brand because of their costumer’s service.
    But thankfully, after watching your videos, I’ve given other chances to the brand and haven’t been disappointed since. All my other bags are in great shape.
    I’m sad the prices are getting so high over there, but that is always an excuse to come to Europe for some shopping.

    I looked up all of my prior purchases. I am shocked at where the pricing is now. I bought my first Polene, the Numero Un, in February 2020 and it was $420. Jaw dropped seeing it at $580 now. I also think the packaging is now different than what it used to be. Disappointed with what is happening with the brand now. However your point on LV and the other luxury brands is so accurate. Quality control is declining everywhere. I love all the bags in my collection now and I think I am at purse peace (for now! Famous last words 😅).

      Yup! I did the same & all my purchases have algo gone up by the 100s
      I just think that if they increase their prices they should have better service, from what I've seen (bc I havent experienced it) their service seems to be crap. However, I do love their bags 😣 so as long as everything continues to work out smoothly for me I still think their prices merit the pieces.
      Ohhhh the beautiful phrase we all aspire to achieve 😅😅

      Ikrrrr!!!! I was one of the early buyers as well from 2020 before they made it huge like now😞. I remember senreve was the hype back then but polene really caught my eye with their numero un bag. I remember it was hard to find youtube reviews on their bag, but i eventually bought it anyway and was amazed with their quality. Sad to see what they have become now (and also sad why i didnt get more earlier😅😅)

    I agree that these bags still cost a chunk of money. Sometimes it surprises me that people do these kinds of videos like “these are so affordable options”, but they are still like 300 or 400 dollars. It is still a lot of money on a bag and in such case any flaws regarding quality should be 1 in 200 maybe or much less. I like their designs, but I see nowadays many people turn away from the brand instead of being attracted.
    It should be voiced more, as other companies I see respond to such videos on youtube and other platforms in order to address customer needs/concerns and improve.

    Yeah I was definitely surprised when I saw the amount of the pricing increase. I’ve been thinking of adding another Numero Un Nano, but I think I’ll just stick with my one and only😊. It’s Taupe so I consider it a neutral anyway. Unless Jose buys me one lol.

    I’ve had issues with some purchase at high end brands as well, specifically Loewe and Tom Ford most recently. The customer service has not been good or helpful. 🙄 But I’ve had my Polene bags for awhile now with zero issues, I use them tons and absolutely love them. Just found Mlouye and ordered from them excited to try that brand next!😊💕

    I didn’t know Polene were going to do a price increase, I’d bought a mini Cyme and then a Dix in December and I’m glad I did! I wouldn’t be able to buy them now. I think the price increase is just a bit too much and the brand thinks it can increase the prestige. But at the end of the day, they will push customers away if quality and customer service are bad and the prices are too high.
    I think customer service is important, the reason I bought bags from this brand is because I hoped a good quality leather bag would last a very long time.
    And yes, many luxury brands could be in the thousands. But for me I don’t have that money and even £300 is a lot of money to save up.

I agree, I think their prices are getting on the 'higher' end but in my opinion their bags show the craftsmanship & durability.     Both my daughter I had a good experience with Polene.
    Her bag was delivered within the week we purchased it and mine didn’t take long either.
    I’ve not used mine much but it looks nice and the dust bag is nice too. My daughter uses hers everyday and it’s held up and looks nice still.
    I will more than likely be purchasing another bag from Polene.

    Tbh, have always found the brand overrated, or kind of a “distraction “ purchase. Their price increase makes me even care less about the brand. They are definitely taking a piss on us. My money remains safe. This said, enjoy your bag in good health. Also, my youngest sister for one of their bags and their customer service was horrible.

    It been in my wish list for long and I’ve just bought it recently during my trip to Paris! despite all bad customer service review, all the staff at the new shop is friendly , helpful, and less queue but many of the item is out of stock and they limit only 3bag per customer because it’s too popular!!’m happy that I able to get my Polene earlier, sad to see this huge jump now, was thinking to buy those bag that not in my collection yet…now this make me think twice…

    I wear my Polene bags so often and have had no issues with any of my 7 Polene bags. Given the amount of wear I get from my Polene bags, I'd still pay their current prices. I am shocked with how steep their price increases are though 😅

    I got the cyme for myself as a Christmas present for myself this year and am so glad I did when I did because I was so close to buying it for myself for my birthday because it’s in January am so glad I didn’t wait I have the moon shape one I think it’s the #10 too haven’t had bad experiences but I think that no matter if the company is a small business or huge one like LV they shouldn’t have bad quality or customer service because without the customers they are nothing an as for their price increase that’s sneaky raising the price with no heads up I mean it’s better for them for no one to know so that they have to pay the new price but it’s not right

    I wonder if the price increase is solely for those in the US, as prices last September in the store in Paris vs that online in the US and Canada were at least $100 greater regarding the latter. Moreover, it's probably an issue of supply and demand, as when I was in Paris, every day I passed the store and there was a line wrapped around the street. It was insane. Finally, on my last day I decided to stand in line, which took almost 2 hours to enter the store. The others who were in line were from all over the world-- Canada, Germany, Japan, etc.-- and everyone claimed that the Paris store was less expensive than the internet and their own stores (I believe that Polene just opened a store in Manhattan this year). Thus, the price hike does not surprise me as there is evidently such a great demand for these purses. Moreover, a few women in the store line predicted the price hike and thus considered their purchase as an investment as well--- interesting approach. As far as the quality is concerned, I find Polene to be of excellent quality.... I opted to purchase a Polene vs and YSL as I found the latter to look cheap. So, for those of us who have purchased bags prior to the price hike, be kind to those purses as it will cost more to replace them. I personally intend to buy more Polene, particularly when I visit Paris again this Fall

      Hi, thank you for your message. Yes the bags are definitely cheaper when purchased in Europe by foreigners even with conversion & thanks to the VAT we are allowed to claim. I agree that quality easily compares to some of the high end designers. I love mine & I am happy to hear you do yours as well 🙂

    I just went to look at a bag I've been eyeing since 2022 and it's now almost $500!! Absolutely insane. I don't think they have the brand recognition and reputation to keep raising prices like this. I hope they'll feel it when people stop buying but I'm sure there are those desperate enough to have something they think is expensive/exclusive.

      @@mrsleyva My pleasure. I would agree that the price is still worth the quality of the brand in general. My oldest bag is now almost 3 years old and they all look brand new. The only thing I am a bit disappointed with is the color options. I enjoyed the vibrant colors of the past - specifically the reds. I am so tired of these muted and boring colors. I love your red bag! I also liked the pastel color options but they are very few today.

    I think the price increase is ridiculous!! I understand that their quality is good but what made this brand attractive was the combo of “quality, price & unique style”. At this higher price I would need to rethink my options.

      Hi, it def makes you think twice. However, if you havent had any bad luck with quality or service I honestly think they are still worth it. I mean luxury bags are way in the thousands and they tend to have alot more quality issues than this brand has.

    Can somebody tell me what’s with the customer service is about? Because I want to buy a mini nummero neuf and I was really shocked about the price increase. I knew it would come but I thought they will did it in the middle this year. So I’m a bit angry of myself that I didn’t purchase last year.

    I bought my 10 bag like 2 years ago,I paid 290 euros. So it’s like 100%. I can say that bag has really amazing quality,but I’m glad I was able to buy it 2 years ago, I’m not spending 600 euro on it.

    I am glad I bought a few pieces a few years ago. The steep price increases are insane. I would not buy another one in this price range. I’d rather safe up more and buy Tory Burch, Gucci or Fendi or look on the second hand market for real luxury

    I was looking back at my purchases for the last two to three years, and the increase was crazy. However, I never had problems with customer service. They sometimes get back after five days, but they respond. They also fixed the loose threads of my Le Cabas for free (from the US to Spain and vice versa). But for those who had poor customer service, I hope they find a way to
    fix these, or they’ll lose loyal customers.

    Most design houses increased their prices in January. The Hermes Oran shearling sandals I wanted went up by 17% ($225). I hope you're able to get your Hermes bag this year.
    Do you wear your normal shoe size in Hermes sandals? I remember you saying you had to size up in one of the Hermes shoe styles. Was it in the Oran or Oasis?

      Yeap they def all follow this 'trend' 😅 Ouch on the Shearling sandals. The Birkin also went up $1000 😣 I sized up on the smooth leather & got my reg size on the 'grained' leather which are my etoupe

      @@mrsleyva Thank you. I normally wear a size 8 shoe but the description said to size up by 1/2 a size so I ordered the 8 1/2. I hope they're not too small.
      $1,000! Wow! I was told that in the Toronto, Canada Hermes store the policy regarding quota bags has changed and they're offerng quota bags to people without a purchase history to try to make things more fair and to let others experience Hermes. Prior to that I had heard it was nearly impossible to get a quota bag in Toronto.

      @marlenepopov8469 I think the 8.5 should work perfect. Keep in mind the leather will stretch a little bit, nothing crazy, but a bit in case they fit snug.
      WHAT?!?!!! Omg! That would be amazing! But again, its really up to the sale associate if they will say 'Yes we have a bag available' 😅

    I'm sooooo mad! I've been looking to get a polene bag for maybe 9 months now? I'm really picky when it comes to bags and have been looking for a quality unique purse for years. I didn't want to jump the gun cause there is also another bag I like from Fleuron.
    Almost got it for my birthday 1 month ago. But I know I have large expenses coming up (2 trips, and an unexpected car issue) so held off. Technically, I could afford the purse. But it's not smart for me to right now.
    Imagine my surprise when I checked out the site today and saw that the Tonca was now over $500!!!

They have some classic yet unique pieces too. 😍 Again, if you REALLY want the bag I still think its worth it but the huge price increase def was a bummer. I would have been more accepting if it was 40-50$ a piece

    I wanted the Numero Sept but the thick strap that isn’t removable really puts me off. At this point I’m taking the Numero Sept off of my wish list. If the strap was removable I would still consider it. I think that their prices are fair but I don’t like anything enough to pay the new prices.
    The two pieces I do own I felt underwhelmed with. With everyone talking about how much they love Polene I expected more. Maybe my expectations were too high.

      I agree that the strap not being removable from the Number Sept is a bit of a bummer! But I still love that bag (I own 2) What gets me its the uniqueness of their styles ❤️

    I wanted to get a bag from them, no1 or 9, but seeing all the bad reviews turned me off. I can deal with a faulty item if I’m able to quickly and painlessly have it exchanged for a new one, but if the customer service is as bad as it sounds, and they might not admit to any fault on their part, it’s just not worth it. At this point it’s a risk, you can get a good bag and have no issues, or you can get a bad one and get no help from the company, and I’m not a gambler so I’d rather buy from somewhere I can trust it’ll be good quality every time. Plus the bad reviews point to the company wanting to increase their profit margins by upping the price and lowering their quality and service, and I can’t support that

      Thank you for your feedback. I agree that the customer service def needs to improve specially if they are increasing the prices. I think I might just resort to getting a piece if Im able to go in person to the boutique 🤷🏻‍♀️

    If not for better craftsmanship and raw materials why would you pay more than $100 for a bag? Brand recognition? Since neither is the case with Polene, I think these huge price increases are pushing them into a market where they can't compete. Designs are nice, but not that nice.

    May!!! I ordered the Berí bag and on the 2nd time I wore it the hardware to clip on the closure came off!!! 😢 it has two screws that can be tightened but I was out of town and that was the only bag I had with me. Not to mentioned I had it inside my personal bag also in its dust bag for the airplane ride. I was so sad!! I reached out to costumer service and they said to send it back for repair!

      @@mrsleyva well, they said to ship it to Spain’s workshop, they’d have it for three weeks and then return. I’m in California. Not worth it. My fiancé fixed it when I came back from my trip! But I was shocked it happened so quickly. I do, however, want more bags from them! 🤭

    Influencers hyped this brand to infinity and now people are surprised that they went up with their prices for bags people are willing to stay in line for. I live in France and must say I don't see their bags too much on the streets here. The French turn away quickly from brands that are over hyped and too common. Still love the design of the new Tonca though. May become my first Polène bag.

      I agree with you. The times I have visited Paris 8 dont see many people with them (others than the ones shopping at the boutique 😅) I still really love the brand over all. Hoping their quality stays to par with their their increase

    I've heard so many negative comments about Polene's customer service, that I am afraid to purchase one unless I, or family member or friend happened to be in New York or Paris, and could physically see the bag in person and purchase it. Although it isn't in the thousands, several hundred dollars is still a lot in my budget. They are absolutely beautiful, but I'm not prepared to deal with any potential hassles.

      Hi, I agree. We should receive better customer service for any purchase. Ive never had any bad experience with my online orders but Its been about a year since my last one. I do think it has been getting a bit worse since then which is so sad ☹️

    Bad or unreliable customer service, the few actual stores in the US for me is more of a turn off than the price increase. If they are meeting volume by quietly switching to cheaper leather and I wouldn't put it past them, I don't think I'd be able to tell when it's brand new and if I have problems in a month or so, it's too late.

    Polène is going to be massive in 2-3 years. The company it’s going to be bought soon and the the prices are going to be really high.

    Well yea, they have definitely lost a customer in me. They are giving into corporate greed. I don’t need to be spending 600+ on a Polené handbag.

    The quality isn't even that good... I went to the Paris boutique and was expecting to buy at least 2 bags but was Sooo disappointed. The glazing on the numero uno handle was terrible 😢

      I personally don't think the fact that they dont have a sale a bad thing, they feel that their products are worth the price they have & I agree. However, I do think they need to improve on their customer service. 😣

    Coach bags are way cheaper and the quality is there so there is not excuses simple the quality of Poland is bad on that bag

      I agree that Coach does have some great pieces that will last the test of time. Thankfully I have had great experience with Polene quality, but its unfortunate to hear that is not the case for everyone 🙁

    I got the Cyme in taupe last year and it was my worst purchase ever. The pochette was already damaged after 1 use. I will not recommend this brand. They are cheaply made, and their customer service is horrible.
