- When 'The Last DJ' album was released in the Fall of 2002, a surprise DVD was included with CD purchases entitled "The Last DJ Sessions." This DVD contained interviews with TP (with producer George Drakoulias by his side) as well as performances of the band performing several songs from the album at Cello Studios in Hollywood. The unfortunately spliced performance of the band rehearsing "Can't Stop the Sun" on the tour's stage setup is included here with all of TP's interviews.
Enjoy!

we may never see the likes of such musical integrity again....rip
He said, "You struggle against filler." So many albums over the years have that "filler" that Tom and the guys never had. I've always listened to every new TPHB record all the way through when I got it. Every song is a gem. They spoiled us and I'll forever cherish that.
Those "all killer, no filler" albums, where I wouldn't dare skip over a single song, are so special and rare. Tons of great artists/great albums have at least a little filler. I'm not the biggest Tom Petty fan in the world, but the fact that he had multiple (both as TPHB and solo) is a testament to his talent.
"After you're gone, you know, all you leave behind is that music."
Tom you are missed.
Remained AUTHENTIC and honest until the end
The Last DJ = An American masterpiece.
Love this guy SO much. It was always all about the music. He did it his way without compromise; TPHB music is still relevant, never gets old no matter how many times you hear it, and his voice was like no one else. I miss him every day and always will. Doubt I will ever come to terms with his passing.
Is this even real,he is so talented with anything he says or does even if he is telling us he is still here!! :)
Tom Petty is so cool 😎
The Iguana Song song is classic Tom Petty just making it up with humor as he went along. It should have been a huge hit song.
The best 15 minutes. I love this album. I love Tom and the band. Beautiful music. 🔥💔 A great little film.
I've always lived outside the box.
That's why I love Tom Petty so much.
Miss his presence
12:45 After you’re gone, all you leave behind is that music. So it’s really worth spending a little time and getting it right. 🥺
I teared up when he said that. Such a beautiful, simple thought. And so painfully true now.
God bless Tom. Rest in peace. Beautiful human being.
We're gonna love ya forever, Tommy. We miss You, so damn much!
Huge Tom Petty fan, here. I've not seen this before & it's important stuff ~ the loss of radio DJs & the corporate takeover of music in general. The problem is with the audience. A metaphor for all that's going on in America & the world today. Something we accept en masse, but complain about individually. He just gets it all spot on. An interesting subject indeed! Thanks for the great upload 🙂
TP was a genius⭐️
How awesome is this gem of a video? 👍😎🇨🇦📷🎵🙏💘
Tom Petty, Forever Loved, Forever Missed, Forever Remembered ❤❤
He needed surgery and Suboxone
One of my favorite records thanks for having such awesome content cheers

I so enjoy Dreamville.
Excellent! Thanks for this! Love me some TP & the HBs! I miss him and can't believe he's gone.
You left behind a lot of great music Tom! RIP Legend! We miss you! Hope you're making a lot of great music in Heaven!
Loved this video. It's great getting to see and here Tom. Thank you for sharing.
You made my day
Released in 2002, over 20 years ago....
Thank you Tom
Excelente grupo, Recife- Brasil.
The Big Money Orchestra was King.
Too Much Aint Enough...
Love his iguana song 💝 gawd I miss him!
Delightful. Thank you.
The deregulation of media outlets in the 1980s created the circumstances that led music/ radio here.
Thank you 💓
R.I.P. Jim Ladd. The real life D.J. that this song was written about.
Amazing record
Such a Tragic Shame they weren’t Recognized more in the beginning, but then we may never have had all the financial desperation Brilliance!
Is this the whole video or did you edit it down? I have that CD but I don't remember a DVD with it. That was so long ago though, so I probably forgot.
I edited out the music videos for copyright reasons! When I purchased the CD it had the DVD in it!
👍👍✌️🇨🇦👍✌️🇨🇦👍✌️
I bought this cd. Hmmmm yeah.
Tom was a good one. There's not many of the wilburys left now. Are the heartbreakers still making music?
Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs are touring and releasing music!
.... he bought an iguana ... LOL
miss you TP 🎸💘
Story has it Corporate America nailed Petty to the cross after this Album. They shunned him. Turned their back. Discarded him. And funny thing is Petty was right and we will never see a true DJ for the rest of our lifetime.
I don't think it was too dreadful for him. A few radio stations refused to play the singles for a spell, but they released the album and he did well enough (as did they). Business as usual for the most part. Even they couldn't afford to discard Tom Petty! He knew exactly what he was doing. It probably pleased him to see some ruffled feathers. He'd been through so much worse in the early years anyway. I'm just glad that he had the guts & integrity to speak out when others would not. And he dedicated an entire album to the cause. And yes! He was so spot on about all of it. We'll have to find all of our DJs & new music online form now on.
