The original shotgun was really beautiful, this one is quiet similar to super meteor.

1 - what segment RE planned shotgun for ? bobber or other
2- weight difference compared to super 650
3- From the looks a mono shock on single seat to compete with jawa boober or triumph bobber would have been better does RE have such plan for bobber market?
4- In accessories for this model do RE plan to sell back seat as accessory ?
This is my choice of an addition to my Himalayan so far.

Doesn’t live up to the promise of what was shown as its first rendition few couple of quarters back. And what’s with this 100 front tyre. Why can’t they do a 120 upfront?
Main problem in royal Enfield is heating issue... It's ok in cold weather places but in southern part of the India... It's performance really sucks on hot sunny day... secondly styling they don't learn Nd inspire from model from other companies like Harley...third they still stick to old model engine they could have upgraded it to vtwin engine with twin exhausts add-on oilcooled engine. This is just my opinion
I called out the many similarities between this and the SM 650 when this was unveiled at the Motoverse

Tried the SM650. Was a real.treat to ride on highways, ball breaker on broken roads. But if you drop it or have to push it on a slope u have had it

Super meteor owners are complaining about the hard suspension at the back. Looks like this carries the same rear shocks. They could've at least gone with a gas charged shock.

does Shotgun's rear suspension fit the SM660 (assuming it might increase the rear dimensions a bit)?
will this change finally reduce the stiffness as compared to the stock rear suspensions of the SM650?

Why can't RE make seat height low like the Harley or other motorcycle company!? Looking at that shotgun,it gives a low seat height vibe but 795 mm!? Really!?
795 is lower bruh
If it goes any lower, it would scrape the humps on Indian roads.
Seat height any lower than it already is and it'd be even more painful to ride.
Every Super Meteor rider I've talked to complain about pressure on the tail bone and shocks transmitted directly to spine.
Having super low set seats is cool but hugely impractical for riding any meaningful distances as it puts a lot of weight on the tailbone. A well designed seat is a workaround but why bother when you can have better clearances with relatively lower seat height in one design

What makes it so heavy?
For me tank size is very small. 13 Liters with the average of 22 kmpl = about 177 miles that's too low, frequent visits to gas stations 😮
still its more than like of Iron 883 ,, 1200 or Indian scout .. all of them real riding range on mixed conditions around 120 miles . so plan for a 100 miles refill .
Thx but most of those bikes remains in the garage. would really want bikes like SG650 on the roads to be admired.

Will somebody tell me why Indian origin bikes like RE, Bajaj etc. don't give a bit bigger tyre compared to cc and tyre size? Now I know that ratio is decided by company which is best for bike etc. etc. but if you compare with Yamaha and Duke then they give bigger size tyres even to 155 200 cc bikes.

Pridominently these bikes are bought here in INDIA but all the models are first ridden in US. This is such a shame, i as a RE rider myself for 21 years do not approve this. This shameful and insulting.
The new 452 Himalayan? Introduced and ridden in India..shotgun 650 introduced at motoverse. You do realize that Royal Enfields are gaining popularity in the US and RE is trying to get more bikes sold in the US as well? Marketing.

That exhaust can is such an eyesore. The rear mudguard could have been designed better. The front forks could have been thicker. From the looks department, completely disappointed.

Interceptor feels like a behemoth heavy in traffic. 240 kgs is the territory of bmw gs fucking 1250. And this is 240 barebones. That's insane.

As close to a bobber as we are going to get from RE, but why the cheap stickers on the gas tank? Emblems cost more, but add a touch of class to the bike. If I decide to buy (I actually prefer the thumper over the twin), I'll fit my own. Remove the front fender, fat front and rear tires -- RE has built a definite possibility. Now if they would only mature beyond the ridiculous cartoon artwork.

These 650cc s are mainly manufactured for the western market by RE. Especially when you brand your 650cc as shotgun, with lesser price tag, the Americans will definitely go for their home security.
