My favourite movie of all. Pure subtlety
In these scenes I can only see one thing, Scarlett Johansson's beautiful expressions and quiet radiance. Everything else is just noise and background.
Always nice to see some clips of Lost in Translation
Great movie! Anna Fariss is perfect as "Cameron Diaz"! 😅
crazy that Scarlett was only 17 in this
That’s crazy!!! I had no idea!!!!!
No. She was 23
Such a fantastic flash from the past. I was mesmerized by this movie back when it released. Now, after so very many life experiences, I want to te-watch!! 🌟🔥
I hope Sophia releases a 4k of this film.
It's been announced that it's getting a 4K release.
Scarlett show more faces than Al Pacino in just one scene......one Of the best moments 👍👍👍👍👍👍
That Americanized “Ah-ree-Gah-Toe” sends shivers down my spine.
Can you speak Japanese?
@@Paul-sl9zm I studied Japanese in college. That’s not how you say ありがとう
The cast of this movie was very well chosen too and the part of the dippy girl (Anna Farris) was so funny and Charlotte and her husband, all! I like the soundtrack too like during the part when Charlotte is gazing out her very high hotel window at the amazing Tokyo, the whole movie and the part too in this clip of Charlotte with the ladies arranging the flowers in ancient Japanese tradition which I think is called "Feng Shui" but just my amateur recall.
Ikebana
@@LilyGazou Hi! Oh Wow! It's funny as I saw in my notifications your one word "Ikebana" and it sounded vaguely familiar. Now I think more I think they even said that in the movie and that's how I remember the word! Is Ikebana part of the Shinto religion? I would love to go to Japan with such beautiful country and people and the fascinating history and architecture, all! It's funny how I remember suddenly the scene... Charolette in tears on the phone to her mother and almost her exact words, "Ikebana". It's funny how my memory works, well doesn't work ha! I think they are wrong saying they didn't treat the Japanese culture right in the movie and loved the parts where she was in I think Kyoto and the special part with the wedding and the monks praying and her putting a prayer folding in paper on that prayer tree, and of course the part about Ikebana!! Thanks for your reply!
what a magnum opus
I'm told that actress is based on Cameron Diaz, who Sophia Coppola thought was a ditz.
I can't believe thats Anna Farris! 😳
Good focus features movie.
Incredible movie. It needs a sequel!
Nooo it’s perfect just as it is
I hope they won't make a sequel. Remember Scarlett Johansson's words in the movie? "let's never come back here 'cause it'd never be as much fun."
In this movie Scarlett Johansson is married to Phoebe's weird brother from Friends and he treats her like crap. Let that sink in.
meaning what exactly
if looks could kill...
You can just see the expression .. on charlottes face ... nahhh ... Fake !
I didn't like this movie, it didn't make sense why Charlotte would marry a guy like that or why she'd bother accompanying him on a work trip.
She felt lost and directionless, went along to have the experience.
As for choice of husband- many intelligent girls make a bad choice. 😂 she’s quiet, he is outgoing.
@@LilyGazou Anyone who goes to Yale to major in Philosphy is the epitome of lost and directionless
@@MrBmick79 and doesn’t have to work for a living. 😆
