James never used drugs, he was an alcoholic addicted. Only lars and Kirk were addicted to cocaine. But the reason of the yeah screams could be a weak attempt to uplyft the song, create a bigger atmosphere or just james triyng to show off

The bass solo and duet must of been a nice treat for the fans there. Then to go into Nothing Else Matters was the icing on the cake
