I went through 3 set of chains one season. They were the heavy duty chains. These were the only chains left in the store. I didn't think they would last. They lasted the trip from Reno to Seattle and back to Sacramento. No issues, easy to install and remove. I hope they keep up the quality because I would purchase again if I had to.

Very easy to install. These saved my life when i was driving a sedan down the sierras and lost all control. I pulled over, narrowly avoiding going off a cliff, and using the instructions i had them on in less than 15 minutes in a blizzard with traffic fishtailing by.

Getting ready to go on trip from Colorado to Utah, in a Nissan Sentra front wheel drive. Looked up chains and decided on these then saw your video and it cemented my choice. I am a bus driver and am trained to put chains on a commercial coach but didn't want chains that were as difficult as those. Thank you for this very informational video

How's she goin'? A lot of people hate winter driving because of the 'what if's' and they aren't prepared for them. I don't doubt that these are the easiest to install on the market. But after an hour in my driveway this afternoon with my set, I can only say PRACTICE these skills before you need them. Watching this video is no substitute for getting your hands dirty. It took me about five tries before the second tension cable was close enough to connect...you really have to be aggressive in moving the setup so it is aligned evenly. I think they don't give you too much cable to play with because it would mean you are way off.
It takes me about 4 minutes a tire but my tire size is a perfect match , not too tight of a fit . Yes it does take a bit to figure it out but once done it's easy . Cheers 👍

I am always amazed how they can improve a product that anyone would consider already well designed! My dad had a 1989 F150, super cab, 5 speeds transmission, 2WD. The best ever combination to be stuck in 1in of snow! Lol! Thanks!

I used to live in a town that was relatively flat in Colorado. My 2WD (rear drive) Toyota 4Runner did great. I moved to a Colorado mountain town that is real hilly, these are a life saver. Easy on / easy off with great traction.

I really should get a set of these. My F-150 is only two wheel drive and gets stuck on wet grass. I especially like how easy they are to mount. The other tire chains I've looked at, you have to drive onto them. Which is no good if you're already stuck
Bruce 5 minutes tops and you have traction. My f150 is next to useless on grass too 😅😅

Chains is useful for sure. They get used here from time to time. Those seem pretty easy to deal with and that's awesome. 🍻🤜🤛

I heard that if you jack up the car and deflate the tire some, put the chains on, and reinflate, they will stay on and tight. I just bought an easy Vever jack (cig lighter, jacks in under a minute & inflates tires too) I guess I'll try it out.
These chains automatically tighten up but yes I can see how reducing air on the regular chains would work 👍

Yeah for the money its worth it. I remember coming home from cottage up by perry sound and steep hill with snow and ice lol what a trip. Chains would been great
Yes exactly, years back we had a camp just north of Mactier on a small lake and crazy bush roads when frozen it was a nightmare to travel on. Yep we had chains on but they definitely were a lot bigger than these ones 😅😅

That's actually not how they come off in real life. After you drive, the chain is under the tire. So, you have to undo the back cable first, clear them from the tire path, and drive off of them. Also, the back cable clasp is rarely at the top when you do this, so note where it is in relation to the front size so you don't have to hunt around for them in the snow on the side of the road.

Hi i have a blue 🔵 connector that is ground down on the flipper side. I wonder when i should replace? It still works.
I just do it to comply with the law. I get through fine on plawed sedan..

I almost bought these last year but decided instead to go with dedicated winter tires with studs on steel wheels because I felt that I'd needed those more...but I'd like to get these in addition to that.. not that I've had any issues just in case.
Brandon you should be more than good with studs. These with studs would be ultra hard core 😅😅

@@SteveRobReviews - I was stationed in NY on the Canadian boarder where just about everyone has all season and winter tires with a guy from Savana. When he drove home for Christmas people always asked him what was wrong with his mud tires (unstudded winter tires.)
Probably gonna get a set of these, my old rusty set of chains are missing a couple bungee hooks. don't trust em.

Thanks for the helpful video. Just picked up 2 sets for my AWD vehicle for the last 1.5 miles into unplowed territory, north of Muskoka. Now why do you suppose the instructions say, "Tire Chains are not to be used on snow tires"???
I imagine the profile of some very aggressive snow tires would make it difficult to install. I have M&S ratings on my tires and they fit just fine . Cheers 👍

You wouldn't see much , it's pretty easy to put on.
The hose that covers the steel cable is blue but has 1 of the ends a red hose. What does it mean?

I have a non-self tightening ones, but now a few years later I went to buy their tightening version… their website tire chain finder is inaccurate and the size ordered doesn’t fit… what a pain.
Troy on mine the tire chart on the packaging shows the sizes and it was very accurate . I didn't buy mine online . Cheers

My 4x4 2011 Nissan Pathfinder owners manual says chains only on the back. There is not enough room up front for chains without risking damage.

I have a question so any snow chains brand can be used on any car tire just gotta look for tire size?
Yes for most but if you're driving a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Corvette it's a no-no so it's best to look in every vehicles owners manual to verify its allowed.
My owners manual says SAE class S only. Class S is low profile for vehicle that have limited space. In California only chains and cables are legal. Sometimes socks are also allowed but I've seen too many of those tear apart.
I bought these chains last week. I ordered them for my tires: 235/50-17. When they arrived, they were 235/50-18. I put them on, tightened them and they seem loose. Like, maybe an inch. Could that possibly be why they are loose?
Yes absolutely. The sizing is quite broad but 17 to 18 inch may be outside of its adjustability. On the instructions it states all acceptable tire sizes for the chains you bought.

Hola tengo una 2021 4runer TRD OFF ROAD. Boy rumbo a las montañas nevadas es mi primera vez en la 4runer. Devo usar cadenas para nieve .únicamente conseguí 2 cadenas en cuales llantas devo usarlas gracias dicen que en la 4 llantas o solo puedo en 2 y en cuales ..devo usarlas. GRACIAS
Los pondría en la parte trasera, ya que al bajar colinas no los necesitaría, pero en la parte trasera del vehículo es donde se necesitará toda la tracción. Salud
